I wonder if Quez injury is multi-week causing them to not want Oz to get hit in preseason

Just for the Blog I'm going to power rank all 300 of Harper's home runs

Sirianni just said in his presser he wants to get all his backs live action so week 1 isn't their first time being hit. He said next week will be Scott or Gainwell getting carries. And the week after that, the one who doesn't get touches next week.

Was one of his patented moves in college.

The most impressive thing wasn't beating his man at the LOS but when he closed on the QB he was able to fluidly follow him as he flushed out of the pocket. Most DTs can't move like that. They'd just run on past.

72 Dolphins must be embarrassed

Liked what I saw from the CBs except Greedy Williams. We're so used to seeing the Eagles backup CBs get burned in the preseason but it seemed like they were always close in coverage all game.

Aside from the DBs, standouts were Carter, Steen, Ojomo, Swift, Cleveland, McKee, Morrow. I was surprised Morrow looked good. He looked quick to the ball. He apparently has struggled at camp, but looked good tonight.

Sydney Brown looked good to me. Didn't see him a ton in coverage but seems like he flies to the ball. I think he's going to be a playmaker.

Thought Edmunds looked solid, but not sure how exactly they plan on using him.

Thought Penny was fine for a line that didn't open up a ton of holes. ESP said on the post game show he thought Sermon looked better, which is just eye roll ESP. He thinks Penny should be cut instead of Sermon, and tried to argue Penny hasn't accomplished much in the NFL, yet he's accomplished the most of any RB on the roster.

Jeremy Fowler got hacked again for like the 5th time in a few days. He gets getting his account back and they keep hacking it. I assume he changed his password so someone must have access to his phone.

Thanks for the update on the Fowler situation.

If you want a cheap Macbook you know who to hit up.

What did we learn?

QB -- (1) Book is done (2) McKee may be at better #2 than Mariota by Week 18 (3) With the new Emergency QB rule, McKee may get more snaps than Mariota does through the yer

RB -- (1) Scott was a big winner without even taking a snap

WR -- (1) we have more WR depth than we realized (2) Cleveland was a big winner relative to the other backups (2) Ngata came back to earth a bit

TE -- I personally didn't learn much.  Did anyone else

OL -- (1) Roderick Johnson was a pleasant surprise (2) Steen settled down after a rough start

Edge -- (1) Nolan Smith needs time to develop (2) we lost contain too many times in the game

DT -- No one looked bad

ILB -- (1) like Tight End, I didn't have a lot of take aways from the ILB play.  What did others see there? (2) Bradley's injury was unfortunate, but I had him as one of the cuts to get to 53

CB -- Josiah Scott and Greedy Williams, it has been nice knowing you. (2) this is going to be the hardest position to make the final cuts

Safety -- (1) Sydney Brown is going to be a pleasure to watch ... if he doesn't get injured (2)

Kicker -- Elliott is Elliott

Punter -- Howie needs to be looking for someone better

What stood out more than anything watching the game is when they showed the stands and had Eagles fans sitting next to each other where one had kelly green and the other had midnight green jerseys on, the kelly greens just look so much nicer. It really isn't even close.

We’ve seen a lot of WRs put up meaningless stats in the preseason that people get excited about so I’m not really jumping on any of those bandwagons yet

I think Book is definitely not good and Carter definitely is. Beyond that I think we saw some positive and negative signs that people noted that could be trends or might not be

Really like him so far

Agreed.  He doesn’t look like there will be any Sophomore Slump for him.  In addition, his development makes me all the more confident in Ricks.

Oh I am ready to draw a conclusion on Greedy Williams. He’s out

Takeaways:

Carter is a f'in monster

Nolan and Steen had a rough outing

Brown is a gamer

Ricks can play

Mckee is the next Eagles trade bait QB

I think Steen started out rough, but settled down, and gave a good accounting of himself by the time he came out of the game.

Not being able to make that tackle to end the second quarter was pretty tough to watch.

Did Sydney Brown not play and if so then why?

did you watch the 2nd half?

That 3rd round pick doesn’t need any preseason snaps.  He’s a lock …. and Hurts too, I guess.

No besides randomly tune in to see Spadaro sloppily kiss his new wife in an empty stadium..  Did Sydney Brown look good?

He ended with 9 tackles.

Penny put up 1095 yards at 6.2 a carry and 8 TDs over the last 2 years of actual NFL games.

Trey Sermon looked like he was running in 20 inches of mud.

This is Jamaal Charles in KC vs Lev Bell in KC.

Anyone who is high on Sermon after that game has no concept of evaluating players.
