Sorry to hear DAZN is so bad now. I had a good experience with it in Berlin but that was like 2016.

It was 💩.  But to be fair, boxing fans were complaining all last night about the same thing. The biggest irony was they mislabelled the game to the Jags game, so had people complaining they couldn't find the Eagles game, and others complaining that the Jags game had the wrong feed on it.  I can't be the only one that has already made the decision to not renew next season.

Countdown to her starting an Only Fans account.

For someone so emotional, there is more movement in Ringo's hips than that forehead. I can't unsee it

But in other news

If the 49ers stand pat and don't trade for Lance, they likely have a SB win. At 12-13 (original 49ers pick), they had their choice of Parsons and Slater.

Book is rubbish

van summereen has nice traits. Seems to struggle in zone which isnt all that surprising

Brown should probably be starting at S

I'm still going to get mad at Nick if he puts Book back out there.

Go wishbone or something. Let Sermon play QB.

Greg Ward Jr could play QB
Tyree Jackson could play QB
Britain Covey could play QB

I looked at the college or high school highlights of those 3, and Ian Book, and, in those highlights,  Book looked the worst.   Ok, Book had a slightly better arm than Covey.  Book looked like Manziel in his highlights.  If you're impressed by a QB running around 20 yards behind the LoS trying to avoid sacks before he magically finds a running back who makes a catch and then is stopped for no gain,  Book is your guy.   Running wise,  Book has some agility and some speed and the highlights show that.  But that running isn't jaw dropping dazzling.  Look at Ward at Houston or Covey in High School if you want to see great running.  Tyree Jackson has a bigger arm than McKee, also is a great running, but not the shifty type like Ward or Covey.

FWIW, I thought Vansumeren looked like crap.

He looked better than Davion Taylor ever had. Not that it's saying much.

Led the Eagles.

VanSumeren was 2nd with 6 tackles.

I don't either, but it just seems like MM is a waste of a spot. You could be right he'd be better with the starters but he doesn't seem like a threat to throw the ball without a pick.

I expect every team to carry 3 QBs on their 53 simply to take advantage of the new QB rule --- so it's not really a waste of a spot. I'd prefer one of those spots to be occupied by an experienced veteran. I always felt like Wentz benefitted a lot from McCown just being there in 2019.

2nd on the Eagles in tackles.

Hopefully this year, they start to move away from the offense being designed around Hurts' legs.  Use it as a threat, not as a staple of the offense.   And never, never again an 18 carry game like against the Bears last year.  If he's going to run... do so, but get down and take less punishment.  No more trying to run over defenders.

I'm sure most people here are aware of my stance. The thing with Hurts is that maybe his strongest talent is the ability to read and make the right decision --- especially with the read-option and RPOs. Making the correct read means running when the opportunity is there and on the read-option, keeping the ball when that is the correct read. He can slide at the end of long runs, but he needs to get what he can on shorter runs. Being able to position himself to absorb hits is something he needs to do well (and has done well most of the time). Running out of bounds and sliding are tools he can use as well if the situation permits. But if he needs a certain amount of yards to continue a drive, he needs to do what's necessary to keep the offense on the field. Sliding early at a bad time like Murray did last season can cost your team a win.

But seeing the success we had last year, I'm not a fan of calling less RPOs when that clearly gave teams fits. We kind of have to let the defense dictate what we do.

They should have stats by qtr because 4th qtr preseason stats are completely worthless

What would it cost to drop Mariota?

McKee QB2

Mariota is a good runner, 2nd fastest QB run in the NFL last year after Fields, a mid level starter in the NFL, who the Eagles have as a backup.  He led the Eagles to field goal range in both of his drives and the Eagles made one FG and missed one FG.   Solid results, and I expect solid results if and when he plays.  Mariota is a much better than average backup.

Book was up and down.

Up when the play started, down by the time it ended

Im surprised to see how many people said Morrow looked "better than I expected". Im not sure why so many people were down on him to begin with. Much like when we signed Kyzir White last offseason- he is a guy who can rack up tackles, is a proven vet. And is also familiar with the system already. Hes not a star, but he is not a liability. He was always going to be a solid starter.

Just like people were suddenly down on Dean because of camp reports (really for no reason), theres no reason to be down on Morrow.

Depth is a concern. But our LBs should be perfectly adequate.

Safety should be fine with Blankenship, and hopefully more and more of Brown throughout the year.

CB is looking like one of the best positions on the team. Both with frontline talent, as well as a ridiculous stable of young, talented depth.

Id does appear to me right now that the biggest weakness this team has, as far as a player who will see the field plenty and can make an impact on the season, would be TE2.

Stoll is ok, mainly because he is a good blocker. But he had a drop last night. And in his few passing game opportunities, he needs to be money.

Can we stop reacting to tackle numbers like they mean much of anything? Especially in the preseason.

Alex Singleton was our tackles leader for years.

Even if they are both cut it is pretty much a no harm, no foul situation.  In that case they were snap count eaters … and a different option than Davion Taylor, whose ship had sailed.

Yup, losing Bradley last night compounds the issue, as he was considered a good core special teamer, and it's not like he was a really good special teamer.

Who those teams snaps going to now???

Vansumren, some other no name that's easier to mis spell? somebody not yet in the team???

The eagles roster last year was pretty stacked one thing that was a constant worry was special teams, losing Bradley doesn't improve an already sub par special teams unit and I don't see jack or Cunningham contributing there.

Hope Howie figures it out cuz as is ,LB how it relates to special teams could be a problem going forward.

Atlanta cut Mykal Walker. He’s young and started some games for them. I could see us kick the tires with Bradley out.

Sirianni getting cute on the two point and Jake missed FG is why we lost to the 24-0 Preseason Super Bowl Champs Ravens.   It was a fun game though.  We had them. Though Book didn't throw that great, he had a strong bursts.  I like how he was making things happen out there.  Quick Turnaround with a Thursday Home game.  I say give the starters a quarter and that's it.  But I blame Sirianni for the loss.  We should have just taken the extra piont.

Hell no. Let the offense get that extra rep. We know Elliott is solid.

Yup. I don't care how many tackles VanSumeren was credited with. He allowed runners to either miss him completely or drag him for excess yards a number of times. He was in no way impressive.

Ward is the way to go.

Agree with Ward.  Well, either none, or Ward.

WR6/PR2/QB4

And maybe PS again,  but he can do a lot.   He seemed steady and solid and responsible out there.  Not a starting WR,  but he's can fill in at a lot of spots.

5 catches,  5 targets,  tied with Cleveland for most catches, and Cleveland had 10 targets.

Cunningham has played a lot of special teams; more than 520 snaps between 2017 and 2020.  It’s not like a 28 year-old is going to forget how.

Much of his pass defense numbers were due to playing for a lousy Texans team.  His numbers against the pass improved when he got into the Titans defense.

2020 was a long time ago and was also pre Injury.

I'm not worried that he forgot how to play teams I'm worried he doesn't want to

Lots of older guys don't want to or aren't asked to play a ton of special teams unless that's always been their role, like ike Reese.

Not sure Cunningham has the heart to play teams, Jack doesn't have the tread anymore.

I'm not really a fan of either signing, reminds me of when Howie signed Malik Jackson off past production when Malik was way past his prime, Jack is damaged goods way past his prime and we've been sold a bill of goods that he could start, no thanks.

Cunningham meanwhile has a bad elbow and hasn't played much in the last two years, elbows are kind of important when tackling.

If rather they had just signed some no name udfas to come in to compete for teams.

Jack and Cunningham don't add much value or upside imo

I did notice that on his missed field goal, it was Zentner who was holding rather than Siposs. Possibly a concern going forward. Although to be fair the snap was high. Lovato also had another high snap later in the game.

Perhaps

especially if a db or rb can handle kick returns

the young developmental cb is mich higher value than a totally replaceable 5th wr

Will have some on the PS anyway

If I do 3QBs, 3 RBs, 5 WRs, 3TEs, and 8 OL that leaves 28 spots

In that scenario Boston Scott and/or Trey Sermon go to the PS along with Andrews, Opeta, Kelly, and/or Roderick Johnson from the O-line.

With 4 Safeties, 3 OLBs, 3 ILBs, 5 DTs, 3 DEs, the Eagles can have 9 CBs and still have a roster spot left over.

How much has Zentner been a holder in the past?  He might be learning the job still, and getting live reps is the best way to work on it.   Lovato needs to be better.   His snaps were not crisp last night.
