He flashed big time the year they brought him in. Then he had the injury so going in to his 3rd year, coming back healthy we thought he might break out. Then he just wasnt very productive, had some drops in his opportunities. Plays that he needs to make as a fringe roster guy, who we had decently high hopes for at one point. Too many injuries. Too much inconsistency. Too long in to his development to keep waiting. They shouldnt have even brought him back this year. It now feels like a waste of time. To the point where its getting slightly frustrating. Someone else worthy can be vying for his position.

Reality is that Goedert, Stoll & Calcaterra were good last year and you can expect Calc to improve. Sure you could have a better #2 but it's pretty low on the list unless Calc regresses.

In the recent past, Ive agreed that it was low importance. But seeing how safety and LB look at least ok, the TE2 hole now appears more glaring.

That, and probably the lack of actual DE depth. Barnett is horrible. Graham is old. We have those 2, and Sweat. No other real DEs. Nolan Smith and Reddick are some sort of hybrid position. We are one injury away at Graham or Sweat's position from relying heavily on Barnett (yuck), and no one behind him.

TE2, and DE are probably quietly, but easily the 2 biggest needs on this team right now.

Backup outside WR is pretty weak.

Usually you have to return down to the next line to get it to register

To be fair most teams don't have a bunch of starting quality players in backup positions.  Reality of the current nfl.  And of course the drop off is more pronounced if your starter is very good.

Sometimes it takes a few seconds to load. If that doesn’t work, try deleting the excess characters in the URL after the question mark(and including deleting the question mark) and see if it loads.

The snap was definitely high and there was a hitch in the hold. Beyond that, I can’t say.

Weird Football Outsiders Update:

Aaron Schatz the founder is out. All the content providers have not been paid since before December and the company that bought the site in 2018 looks like a huge mess.

Don't be surprised if there is no Football Outsiders this season.

 

Schatz still has the rights to use DVOA and the other stats and he might start something else but nothing as of now.
