Can you get NFL+ or Yahoo TV over there or is DAZN still your only option?

Outside of broadcast TV. DAZN is all we get globally.  Other than using a VPN and buying NFL+, we're stuck

Weird Football Outsiders Update:

Aaron Schatz the founder is out. All the content providers have not been paid since before December and the company that bought the site in 2018 looks like a huge mess.

Don't be surprised if there is no Football Outsiders this season.

Schatz still has the rights to use DVOA and the other stats and he might start something else but nothing as of now.

I've been watching this happen for a while and it was after the FO takeover that things slowly died - the overall group owner are awful.  Mike Tanier had a great Twitter thread calling out the owners.

But Schatz has basically taken the DVOA etc and most of the writers to FTN and recreated the Almanac I think was released last week for those that are interested.

I agree with both of your points.  Opeta and Kelly and Roderick Johnson should all make it to the Practice Squad.  I don’t see us going below 9 though.

As poor as Kelly played, the am not sure he is PS worthy.  If Steen and Driscoll are both Gs and Ts, then an eighth OL almost has to be a C.  I believe that will be Andrews.  That’s 8  with the starters and also 48th of the actives.  Suspect that on the PS will be the third C/G. My guess it is either Toth or Good-Jones. Both have all position versatility and really, how good does the PS player have to be?  Tom is another possibility.  If they keep 9, the 9th is going to be who they view as the best of Sills or Opeta, would be my guess. Right now, I would speculate the reserve OL come from the second string OL and if there is a 9, that he comes from there as well.  Whether Fred Johnson is in the mix seems doubtful.

I personally would sign KJ Hamler. I don’t know why they haven’t already. Especially with Quez dinged. KJ has some pericarditis, but once they get that taken care of he should be ok to return to play.

Great, an injury prone midget speedster with bad hands. Cleveland’s 4.46 speed is fine for the rest of the month and Ward has looked pretty good.

@just relax if you are so inclined can you take a look at the snaps where Roderick Johnson played Tackle? I vaguely remember Mike Quick making a positive comment about his play yesterday.  Do your eyes confirm that?

If you can tell me roughly when he entered the game I'll look but it was just getting too ugly for me to keep watching. The Johnson who wears #50 did not look good. Hands flapping, feet churning. He has to slow down.

BTW, I though Steen looked better at LT than RG.

I think that's to be expected since he played LT in college. Maybe Steen is the RG for the next few years, Lane retires, Steen goes to LT and Mailata finishes his career at RT?

The snap was definitely high and there was a hitch in the hold. Beyond that, I can’t say.

Wonder if they use poor snaps to guage how the holders might react in a real game with that situation.  Just like the practices against other teams, the PS games are focused on live situations so nothing would surprise me in PS football as to what may have been scripted.

I’ve never seen a % that high. Just stopped playing right there

50 is Fred, who went in the earliest of the reserve Johnsons.  Believe he went in when Driscoll sat.  Roderick is 66.  IIRC, he went in at LT in the second half.  I think the line was R Johnson, Toth, Tom, Good-Jones, Kelly.

Harden is a bum

James Harden: "Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of. Let me say that again: Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of.”

As many have alluded to, there's really tough decisions to make at CB.

I seriously do not want to lose any of the main young guys. Jobe, Ricks, Garner, Ringo (obviously). Greedy can easily go. Goodrich would be the only one I'd be willing to part with if needed. Unsure what to do with Zech. I've never been much of a fan but he could be our top backup slot right now. I'd hate to keep him over a Garner to watch him get picked up elsewhere. Not sure if Jobe can move to the slot or not.

If anyone wants to get a good look at some all 22 footage from the game, this channel on youtube has it.

Here is every Penny carry, which includes oline play.

It also has Nolan Smith and Sydney Brown plays, which, in the case of Smith, provides a good look at the linebackers as well.

In watching the Smith video, Morrow and Wallace really stood out in terms of making plays at the LOS against the run, and there was a clear difference between Morrow and the other linebackers.

The Sydney Brown video was extremely encouraging. It showed him in coverage, and while it was against backups, he certainly didn't look lost. His tackling style is boom or bust, but in a league driven by offense, I think having that kind of player isn't a bad thing.

I think the locks are:

Slay

Bradberry

Maddox

Jobe

Ringo

They carried 6 CBs last year, and if one of Ringo, Garner, or Ricks can play safety in a pinch they may go 7 at CB and 4 at safety.

Safety would be?

Blankenship

Brown

Wallace

Edmunds

I feel this is an area where they will keep 6 or 7 CBs on cut down day, and then one of them will have a season ending injury where they are stashed on IR for the year while they figure out what they have.

Unlike Swift, it seems like the beat writer's evaluations of Penny have been all over the place this off-season.  Really curious to see what he can do in a real game situation. I'm a big fan of his skill-set as a compliment to Swift's in theory.

I live in a geographical location where the Chickens are forced on me as the second game on a lot of Sundays, so I've seen Penny quite a bit.  If he's healthy he's really good -- Swift/Penny/Gainwell is the logical RBBC.

Nothing spectacular, had a few runs where he made something out of nothing, his o line didn't give him much.

Yep. There was an OZ to the right where he got 8-9 yards that impressed me. He was in a crowd and managed to pick his way to a nice gain. More impressive than running through a big hole.

Could be. They’re definitely working him as a swing OL right now.

Im interested in every Barnett snap. That would be funny I think. Any vids of that?

I knew we had a tough schedule but didn’t pay much attention to it until last night.  This schedule could be one of the most difficult schedules I’ve seen in the last 20-30 years - at least on paper.

12+ games against potential playoff teams with 3-4 of those teams being potential Super Bowl contenders.  And a 5 game stretch in the 2nd half of the season against Dallas, KC, Buffalo, San Fran and then Dallas again?

Like who came up with this madness?  🤷🏻‍♂️

He played 6 snaps. Not sure what point you are trying to make here.

Yup , I thought that was his best run as well, not well blocked but he made a good gain out of it.

The last play of the video in pass pro the o line had everything blocked up,clean throwing pocket and Mariota just takes off backdoor for a couple yards short of the first ,stupid play by Mariota but not surprising for Mariota he's trash imo.

The point I was making was that Id like to see a video of his snaps. It was pretty clear in the post.

Seems like a big if, but yeah that was my impression.  IF he's recovered from his injury and IF he can stay healthy that looks like a killer RBBC with our OL. Especially with Hurts as a constant run threat.

Lots of ifs and projection though. The first few games will be really telling.
