I guess he either spent the money or asked, where did it go and didn't like the answer he got.  I am surprised that any deent agent that he was with as a professional didn't ask those sort of questions.  Must have seen it a thousand times in their lives

That means you have to activate Andrews each week.  Are you ready to do that?

Every KO can be fair caught or be a touchback.  No KOR needed, just a KO catcher.

The 7th CB and 8th CB are valuable for Succession Planning the future years.  Building a roster is about the future as well as the present.

We're going to dress 8 OL in order to have 48 active, so you only have to sit Sills. So yeah -- I have no issue dressing Andrews since it is a free slot.

We need a KO returner dude, just stop. We aren't keeping 7-8 CBs by going 3 RBs (with a 2 guys who routinely get hurt) or only 8 OL (with 2 guys in their 30s). If you want to keep Ricks, you have to hope they go 5 at DT and cut Tulipoloto. Since we dressed 6 DTs last year for games, and only have 3 DEs...no. Ricks had one good preseason game. We're not hurting the chance to win this year to keep a guy no one even drafted. He'll likely clear waivers.

He flashed big time the year they brought him in. Then he had the injury so going in to his 3rd year, coming back healthy we thought he might break out. Then he just wasnt very productive, had some drops in his opportunities. Plays that he needs to make as a fringe roster guy, who we had decently high hopes for at one point. Too many injuries. Too much inconsistency. Too long in to his development to keep waiting. They shouldnt have even brought him back this year. It now feels like a waste of time. To the point where its getting slightly frustrating. Someone else worthy can be vying for his position.

Are they throwing the ball to him for him to catch?

I'm not seeing that.

Where are you seeing "inconsistency"?   I'm not seeing that.  I'm seeing few snaps.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Andrews on the PS and activated as needed.  Do they need 3 Cs active or can they move over Jurgens and place in Steen instead?

You'd rather only impact one position than 2. And if you dress 8 OL on gameday, you can dress 48. Since you can only elevate a limited number of times from the PS, that's why you keep Andrews and dress him unless you are willing to risk losing him.

3 QBs
3 RBs (let Scott and/or Sermon go to the PS as injury insurance
6 WRs (allowing one spot for a developmental WR)
3 TEs
8 OL (allowing Andrews and Kelly to go to the PS as injury insurance ... possibly Roderick Johnson as well

23 Offense

3 OLBs (including either P. Johnson or K. Johnson.  If P. Johnson can go on a short term IL designation, that would be ideal)
3 DEs (including Barnett)
5 DTs (possibly 6 if Tui gets a spot)
3 ILBs (Jack and Cunningham both go to the Practice Squad until at least after Week One)
8 CBs (either Garner or Goodrich goes to the Practice Squad)
4 Safeties

26 Defense

3 Special Teams

52 Total (leaving one spot for whatever player you choose to add)

That's a lot of " possibilities and some of those players aren't guaranteed to make it past waivers once cut.

3 RBs seems pretty light, I get its a de valued position In a passing league but still 3 is a bit light.

Like I said 8 seems high but then again the closer the league gets to 7 on 7 flag football the more WRs and DBs a team will need🤷‍♂️

If you want to try and be cute, and you love Ricks, you keep him and cut Andrews or Tuipoloto hoping they get to the PS. Go into week one that way, then right after week 1 you cut Ricks and bring back the guy you cut. You hope that people aren't looking as closely at that point because they all set their rosters, so more likely Ricks clears waivers after week one as opposed to cutdown day.

@just relax if you are so inclined can you take a look at the snaps where Roderick Johnson played Tackle? I vaguely remember Mike Quick making a positive comment about his play yesterday.  Do your eyes confirm that?

Found him. He played the fourth quarter at LT. Strong in the run game, secure in pass pro. Looks very strong. Not a waist bender, which is a good thing. He gave up nothing when pass blocking. Strong punch.

Caveat: he was playing against third-stringers.

He has a shot and will at least make the PS, although, if he stacks a few good practices and preseason games, he might beat out Kelly. I'll keep an eye on him going forward.

If I read right his agent was a family friend of his "adoptive" family. So the agent could have been in on it?

I doubt they would be losing Andrews to anyone. He was ready to retire just 2 weeks ago.

Agree.  But how much is the drop off between Andrews (OR Another) and Jurgens?  If Jurgens is heir apparent, the counter why does having someone who maybe inferior at C get game time, when you have a better player already there?

I understand the sentiment of not wanting to affect two OL positions with a single injury, but roster spots are too valuable and Andrews can easily be stashed on the PS. Just bite the bullet and for one game and then call up Andrews if he’s ever needed.

Swift and Gainwell should also both be trained in the slot.  Need both those guys on the field at the same time.  No need for Covey to hold a spot

Josh Andrews started only 9 games his entire career. Kudos to sticking around the league for so long, but I don't want him playing at all for a team with SB aspirations.

Dallas absolutely did the right thing with Zack Martin. Frustrating, but smart.

It's weird that it is coming out now.

I don't think there's any way they take a chance that they cut Tuipolotu for Ricks. If they cut a player it would likely be either Jack or Cunningham.  I think Andrews and Kelly are likely cuts that they sign to the practice squad.

Gotta keep Andrew's.  No one else capable of stepping in at Center besides Jurgens who is going to be in at RG.

I posted a while back about Morrow and my expectation that he should start. Nothing happened against the Ravens to alter my view. He's fast, quick, and shows good recognition. The only question I have is whether they want to start two LBs under 230. With all the big, fast, and agile DLs, and especially DTs, I think they should.

Week 1 baby

My guess is that Jurgens moves to center and Steen goes to RG before Andrews plays.

Howie missed out on our RB

Think he's just signing his name or is he going to include a nice little massage message along with it?
