Gotta keep Andrew's.  No one else capable of stepping in at Center besides Jurgens who is going to be in at RG.

You don’t think Dickerson is capable? Obviously you’d rather not move him from his left guard spot, but surely you would have to consider him to be capable. He played center at Alabama and was drafted as Kelce’s replacement.

Not good for week 1 since Eagles always make it look like they are his fountain of youth.

They need an option of someone who can come in and play center without reorganizing the entire offensive line mid-game in the scenario where Kelce gets injured.

I posted a while back about Morrow and my expectation that he should start. Nothing happened against the Ravens to alter my view. He's fast, quick, and shows good recognition. The only question I have is whether they want to start two LBs under 230. With all the big, fast, and agile DLs, and especially DTs, I think they should.

I don't think they signed Jack and Cunningham because they think Morrow has performed well.  Most of the beat reporters have said Morrow has underwhelmed in camp.  Maybe it's the quality of the offense and the fact that the defense is playing under a new coordinator.  I think if he had looked good so far they wouldn't have signed both of the LBs.

Spent $6M on him.  They could have had Miles Sanders for the same price.

At this point Zeke is a bit like LG was for the Patriots and Eagles.

He's no longer the guy and he's not going to rip off a bunch of 50 yard runs but he will run over some people in short yardage.

He still scored 12 rushing TDs last year even in an off year for him.

I think he will be fine there after week 1. He gets annihilated in week 1 though. :Eagle_smiley:

Plus he can play center in a pinch...

Up to 6 million might mean 2.5 million with incentives. Wait for it before comparing it to the 4 year 25.4 million with 13.5 locked in deal that Sanders signed.

LBs work at a disadvantage in thud and no contact drills and practices. When they’re allowed to hit people it’s a completely different game. I have said before that our beats have no clue in this particular area and I still think that. As for the signings, they needed bodies. They were down to what? Four guys? And Nakobe being dinged. Not enough bodies. Might as well see if those two have anything left.

I think Jack and Cunningham were signed because the coaches see Dean, Morrow, and .....

This is where I'm at after the game

QB (3): Hurts, Mariota, McKee. I am a better QB than Ian Book.

RB (4): Swift, Penny, Gainwell and Scott. They gave Scott over $1mm guaranteed, and they know him. Sermon hopefully sneaks to the PS.

WR (5): Brown, Smith, Watkins, Zaccheus, Covey. Everyone gets hyped about the longshot WRs every camp, but a couple of them will clear waivers.

TE (3): Goedert, Stoll and Calcaterra. No surprises here.

OL (9): Mailata, Dickerson, Kelce, Jurgens, Johnson, Steen, Sills, Andrews, Driscoll. Sills being cleared spells the end of Opeta, who likely ends up on the PS.

Total Offense: 24

DE (3): Sweat, Graham, Barnett. Barnett's contract restructure guaranteed his spot.

DT (6): Cox, Davis, Williams, Carter, Ojomo, Tuipoloto. Can't cut any of these guys, and we went 6 deep at DT last year.

SLB (3):  Reddick, Smith, P. Johnson. I want to keep K. Johnson for ST, but just no room.

ILB (4): Dean, Morrow, Jack, Ellis. Before this game, I thought Morrow was in trouble. Now, looks like he is set and Cunningham is gone.

CB (6): Slay, Bradberry, Maddox, Jobe, McPhearson, Ringo. Gotta hope Ricks makes it to the PS.

S (4): Blankenship, Edmunds, Brown, Wallace. I'd consider cutting Wallace to keep Ricks, because I think better chance K'Von clears waivers. But I think team keeps him.

Total Defense: 26

Lovato, Siposs, Elliott

I am keeping ricks and cutting wallace

I guess he either spent the money or asked, where did it go and didn't like the answer he got.  I am surprised that any deent agent that he was with as a professional didn't ask those sort of questions.  Must have seen it a thousand times in their lives

Apparently the agent was a friend of the family according to the article.

Agree.  But how much is the drop off between Andrews (OR Another) and Jurgens?  If Jurgens is heir apparent, the counter why does having someone who maybe inferior at C get game time, when you have a better player already there?

yeah, that seems right or at least a viable way to look at it.

Center - Kelce, then Jurgens
Right Guard - Jurgens then Steen

In this scenario,  Steen is the 6th best OL.

So, sure, you don't want to modify at 2 positions  but you also want the best players out there.

If Kelce is out,  moving Jurgens to Center is a head start on the future,  and if you do that,  moving Steen to RG is a head start on the future - possibly.

Maybe you could move Landon to Center and Steen to LG if you wanted to.

Why did it take like 15 years for this Oher story to come out?

Per the article...

"The lie of Michael's adoption is one upon which Co-Conservators Leigh Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy have enriched themselves at the expense of their Ward, the undersigned Michael Oher," the legal filing says. "Michael Oher discovered this lie to his chagrin and embarrassment in February of 2023, when he learned that the Conservatorship to which he consented on the basis that doing so would make him a member of the Tuohy family, in fact provided him no familial relationship with the Tuohys."
