Carter was the clear best player on the best Defense in the history of college football for a reason.

Barnett should be a trade candidate. I don't think his re-worked deal makes them scared of trading him. I wonder if Schwartz would think about asking about him in Cleveland. Barnett seems like a player for player type deal.  Maybe the Ravens consider him for Queen.  They don't have a lot of depth at DE. If he goes to the Browns, I think he would probably get something like a 4th or 5th round pick.  He would be a depth player on that defense.  The most likely other candidate is Reddick.  Reddick may get a first from the right team.  Trading Sweat would be an all-time stupid move.

I really don’t think trading Sweat would be an All-Time stupid move. Am I for it? No. But I wouldn’t call it All-time stupid.

Just because someone is already well off doesn't make it ok to screw someone over for more money.

You’re only reading one side of the story. My initial hunch is Oher got himself into financial trouble after his playing days were over which many former athletes do. I could be wrong, maybe he did get screwed over, but the timing of this makes little sense since the movie came out like 13 years ago.

They wouldn't be the first family that was well off and yet still engaged in shady business deals.

As I said in a previous response. The timing of it is what I’m suspicious of

Dammit, this just proves we should have played our starters against Baltimore. They'd have been more prepared. Sirianni has lost touch, assuming he ever had any in the first place. I'm already preparing for a sub .500 season. Top fifteen pick, here we come!

Sirianni is in over his head.

I think it’s time Howie makes the call and leans on a proven head coach like Matt Patricia

Cook got $7M? They already got Rodgers so they don’t have to hand out those stupid contracts anymore to entice him.

Yeah the timing is a bit strange...

Eagles will sweep the AFC East

All in that's for sure.

These dudes are going to ball out this season....

They can get the bottom end of the roster CBs onto the practice squad.  Every year fans overestimate how much other teams want the bottom of the roster players here and they all end up basically being available to be signed to the practice squad.

I tend to agree with you when it comes to bottom of the roster guys but it also all depends on the talent that is on the bottom of the roster. When the roster is as deep as it is, much better players are on the bottom. Might be some overestimating how good they are this early but I also think it's a premium position that they have the potential to really load up with.

It doesn’t even have to do with how good anyone is. A bottom of the roster, rookie CB is going to be more valuable than a 3rd string old Center.

Fun fact is that the only reason the movie got made is because the guy who started Fedex, whose son was a high school teammate of Oher, financed it. And that teammate now coaches the Falcons.

Dalvin Cook over the last 4 years averaged 1473 rushing with 13 TDs at 4.7 a carry with another 350 at 8.2 a catch. that's 1820 a year at an elite level.

That's 110.8 yards from scrimmage per game and 4 TDs every 5 games.

NE and Miami were stupid to let him go to NY for only 8.6 million max.

Saw Sydney Brown had a sack in practice today. The way he was closing in the Baltimore game, he’ll be a fun wrinkle in some blitz packages. He has some Bob Sanders vibes.

He's got some domestic violence/legal stuff going on. That's probably a big part of it.

The Jets are gonna be fun to watch not get it done this year

Ben Solak said he gave off Marcus Epps vibes!

I wonder how quickly they'll realize having an oline actually matters.

That’s awhile ago now, I don’t think much will come of it. His shoulder surgery/not being cleared to play is his biggest red flag, although he’s expected to be fine in a week or two.

LBs work at a disadvantage in thud and no contact drills and practices. When they’re allowed to hit people it’s a completely different game. I have said before that our beats have no clue in this particular area and I still think that. As for the signings, they needed bodies. They were down to what? Four guys? And Nakobe being dinged. Not enough bodies. Might as well see if those two have anything left.

Taylor got cut, and Dean got injured. Two went down, brought 2 in. It was a bodies thing.

I agree with you.

I think the Dean panic is/was utterly ridiculous. And dont understand the expectation of Morrow's failure. That makes no sense at all.

I dont know what reporters expect to see LBs do in practice without contact. They have no idea what the LBs assignments are and if theyre running to the correct place on the field. Obviously Davion Taylor was not, and the writers didnt seem to have noticed at all.  They are clueless, and people shouldnt be evaluating LB camp performances through tweets.

The article says he just found out 6 months ago. Regardless of the timing of this coming to light, them asking him to sign under a conservatorship seems really odd on its own. Curious to hear what their reasoning was for this.
