Joe Thomas has to be somewhere in there no ?  Was first team all-pro like 5 or 6 times I believe

If you go by All-Pro rankings...

1. Anthony Munoz had 11.  Only Reggie White (13) has more.
2.  Jonathan Ogden & Willie Roaf both had 9.

Then it gets tricky... As "T", but not identified LT or RT... Jim Parker (late 50s into 60s) and Rosey Brown (early 50s into early 60s) had 8 each, do they count?  Or were they so long ago, that what they were asked to do was so different that they don't count as they weren't in the 'modern' era?

Joe Thomas also has 8, but is listed as "T", not "LT" either.  🤷‍♂️

Jason Peters "only" had 6.

How high is Bernard Williams on your all-time LT list?

He’s gotta be pretty high, right?

Game Saturday then Thursday?

It's the NFL.  It doesn't have to make sense.  Fortunately, the starters didn't play Saturday, practiced last two days, and won't play Thursday.

Nice choice of words.☺️

I get hyped up for our first round guys like anyone else, but I try to temper expectations because they rarely shine early for us.

I’m starting to find it difficult to keep my excitement in check for Jalen Carter.  I’m not even sure if he himself knows how good he is…or can be

Interesting breakdown of Brady's coaches with and without Brady.

Belichick:
With Brady 219-64 (.774)
Without Brady 79-88 (.473)

Arians:
With Brady 24-9 (.727)
Without Brady 56-39-1 (.589)

Bowles:
With Brady 8-9 (.471)
Without Brady 26-41 (.388)

Belichick with a sub 500 record w/out Brady… and it is not exactly a very small sample size. 160+ games.

I will admit that my opinion of him as a head coach has changed since Brady’s departure. I still respect him as one of the best defensive coaches this league has seen.  I expect him to throw some things at Jalen in week 1 that he hasn’t seen yet.

An actual quote from this story

Quote

The Browns were also without right tackle Jack Conklin, who’s in the concussion protocol, and receiver Elijah Moore, who was limited to individual drills because of his rib injury. The Browns without Moore would be like the Eagles without A.J. Brown or Devonta Smith.

He's back to who he was in Cleveland.  He's a great defensive mind.  But, he's overrated as a HC... and a cheater.  And frankly, if I had to choose a DC for one game... I'd take Dick LeBeau over him.

I feel bad for the Browns, first Moore but then also Conklin?? That’s like if the Eagles were missing Lane Johnson!

Not surprised to see this.  I was thinking it was breaking some joint practice rules when I read that Sweat had a strip fumble of Watson.  No touching the QB in practice, especially a joint practice.  Swatting at a QBs hands can F up a finger or thumb on their throwing hand or worse in Brock Purdy's case.

Conklin is a really good OT... and having to go to your backup always sucks.  The issue might be that their 2nd stringers just super suck.

Looking at that list Troy polomolu and his 6 all pros though I only count 5 is the most overrated player in recent memory

Dudes stats pale in comparison to Dawkins and polomolu was constantly hurt as well yet media and talking heads will have us believe Troy polomolu is the greatest safety ever...

Don't get me wrong I think he's worthy of his gold jacket but I think among other safeties in the hall he's overrated.

Most surprising person on that list to me was Joe Montana who only had 5 all pros.

I would have thought he would have more🤷‍♂️

As far as OT go, Matthews  though he's listed as an OG he played OT and OC in his career as well and racked up 10 all pros.

Pretty impressive

This implies that great QB play is important. It also goes to say that very good QB play is also important.

Arians was 38-21-1 with Carson Palmer. He was 11-9 without him in Arizona. He was 7-9 in Tampa with crab claws lick-a-dub.

Belichick is 219-64 with Brady (this is better than Lombardi with Starr, Landry with Staubach, pretty much anyone except maybe Madden with Stabler and Reid with Mahomes)

  • Belichick is 2-0 with Jimmy G
  • Belichick is 1-1 wit Jacoby Brissette
  • Belichick is 10-5 with Matt Cassel
  • Belichick is 11-18 with Kosar (who was great early but 3-10 the year before he met BB)
  • Belichick is 4-4 with Mike Tomczak
  • Belichick is 2-3 with Todd Philcox
  • Belichick is 16-15 with Vinny Testaverde
  • Belichick is 1-3 with Eric Zeir
  • Belichick is 7-9 with washed fashionista Cam Newton
  • Belichick is 16-15 with Mac Jones
  • Belichick is 2-0 with Bailey Zappe.
  • Belichick is 0-1 with Brian Hoyer.

Where exactly did Belichick underperform as a HC?  With 90-123-1 Vincenzo the year the Browns middle fingered Cleveland with a moving announcement?

Andy Reid is
64-16 with Patrick Mahomes
50-26 with Alex Smith
92-49-1 with McNabb
5-1 with Jeff Garcia
18-16 with Vick 2.0

2-5 with Nick Foles
1-1 with Chase Daniel
2-5 with Mike McMahon
1-1 with Matt Moore
0-1 with Chad Henne
4-3 with AJ Feeley
2-1 with RTK Detmer
2-7 with Doug Pederson
1-2 with Vince Young
3-4 with Kevin Kolb

Reid also struggles without pro bowl level QB play, what an astounding discovery. Who could have guessed?

Anytime you start out trying to support that BB with Brady is really not that important because Cleveland moved, Cam was washed, and Mac Jones is a fraud you wind up face planting.

BB is the greatest defensive mind in NFL history. He does not have 6 rings like NE or 7 like Brady. He has 8.

He got 2 in New York while he was using Joe Montana like toilet paper.

He has been in 12 of the last 37 Super Bowls.

No franchise has been to 12 Super Bowls.

The only one at 11 is NE because he took them 10 times.

The next best franchise is at 8 (lots tied at 8  )

It never really bothered me because he was AFC and it didn’t take a spot away for Dawkins.

Now Ed Reed fans…..

(crazy that they have what, 11 all pros between them and their careers almost perfectly lined up.  The two of them dominated in the AFC)

Bill Walsh is 13-22-1 without Montana and Young. This is so meaningful. 🤡

The Browns' franchise.

Complaining about an overly physical practice.
No complaining about overly physical massages.

Yup they both did

And, all pro team isnt voted by conference.

In 2008 the two 1st team safeties were troy and Ed.

Both in the same conference, heck both in the same division.

Good players both of them, I don't think Troy is in the same tier as Dawkins and reed.
