Here's a longer version of the leadup - just more of the same BS with these umps

I love the new rule changes.  I think it's cut out a lot of the BS between at bats and I love the shorter games.

However, I have no idea what was going on here.  My guess: they did not reset the clock after Rojas stepped back into the box, so the ump looks at the clock and gives Kimbrel a ball.  MLB's gotta clean that one up.  At the very least, like Kruk said, they need to let people know what the hell's going on.

I wasn't watching but from what I can tell from reading the comments, Rojas should have gotten a violation but was given a warning instead.  Then there was a lengthy discussion between him, the umps and the Dbacks manager.  Then after they got back to play, Kimbrel came set too quickly I believe, not giving the batter time to get in the box and they issued him a ball.

The whole thing is a joke, and MLB umps are in the news everyday because of it.

The umps don't know what's going on, so how are they going to explain it?

To be clear - I don't think it's all on the umps.  I think the rules are too vague and there's too much room for interpretation, which leads to inconsistencies based on how each ump calls the game.

Exactly  Though some of the umps are a-holes as well

Oh well it’ll lead to more fights and ejections which makes things more exciting

I only watch when I go to Orioles games and I’m typically too piss arse drunk to tell time

Watching a manager get thrown out is definitely a highlight of baseball.  We need more of that.  Ideally something liek this:

Or on some good ones

I said I wouldn't question the Eagles practice methods this year but from a wanting anything newsworthy standpoint, it sure is annoying seeing the entire NFL hold mini camps this weekend.

I wonder if the Lions will release a video of Brad Holmes ripping his shirt off and pounding the table like he does for every draft pick he makes.

Don't think you'd get anything newsworthy even if they were going with camps this weekend.

Probably not but maybe we'd at least get something from the Philly beat.  Just a very dead time between now and TC.

10. C JASON KELCE, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Kelce hasn’t given up a sack since Week 6 of 2021 and allowed just 12 hurries and no hits in 2022. The best center in the league on the move, Kelce anchors the best offensive line in football and shows no signs of slowing.

11. T LANE JOHNSON, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Just to one-up his teammate, Johnson hasn’t given up a sack since Week 11 of the 2020 campaign and has given up just 20 since his rookie season back in 2013. Johnson hasn’t given up a hit since Week 7 of 2021 and consistently performs at a high level with little to no help at the right tackle position.

29. CB DARIUS SLAY, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Slay finished the 2022 season as the 12th-highest-graded cornerback in the NFL. He’s graded at 84.5 and 77.3 in coverage the past two seasons, forcing 21  incompletions over that span. He returns to Philadelphia in 2023 and is the fourth Eagle on this list.

Annoying, how?  The only news of note during OTAs are injuries.

I think Siri has earned the benefit of the doubt with his management of practice.

Bpac gets annoyed by most things.

George never even ever wanted to get to the battlefield.  In his mind he was always outnumbered.   To his credit though, his abilities as a tactician meant that he did indeed need more troops to be able to combat what Lee did to him in response.

He did a good job on the rebuild however, Meade inherited an army good enough to stop the Army of Virginia at Gettysburg.

Aaron Rodgers is certainly a diva. It’s why he fell in the draft. Brett Favre was a diva too.

I have heard things like the Packers spent 3 years making Rodgers and NFL QB with reworking his mechanics and such.

Nobody had an easier path to success than Rodgers with a great FO, lots of excellent targets, and 3 years of putrid part time play as he learned the position.

He led his team to 10 points in his only NFCCG win but the D broke Cutler and BJ Raji scored on D.

He also did not have to be a team leader because Charles Woodson was there.

EASY BUTTON

I wonder how much the offense will change and what exactly about it will change.  Because it will absolutely change in some form with the new OC who is also the new play caller.  It's not like they are changing offenses or anything like that but take out one play caller and OC and replace with another play caller and OC and there will be inevitable differences even if Brian Johnson was the QB coach for this offense for the past 3 years.  Might not be better or worse but it will absolutely be different.  Especially given Hurts and Brian Johnson's close relationship as well as Hurts undeniable dramatic increase of influence that Hurts has throughout this franchise now both with his season last year and the at the time historic financial investment that they made in Hurts this offseason.   Hurts is going to have on a lot of the offensive decisions that he likely didn't have before.

Will be interesting to see how that ends up all looking.  I have a lot of confidence in Brian Johnson but it's a big storyline/question heading into the season but is overshadowed, deservedly so, by the greater unknown of the defense under the new DC and all the new faces and youth on that side of the ball.

He had a hell of a run in the postseason when they won the Super Bowl.  Did so as the 6th seed too.  68.2%, 1,094 yards, 8.3 YPA, 9 TDs, 2 INTs 109.8 QB rating and 2 TD runs in 2010 was pretty damn impressive.  He shredded the ball in the Super Bowl too.

Miracle at the Meadowlands 2 is on.

I don't even know which one is #2.  There have been so many of these since 1978.
