EMB Blog: 2023 Camps and Preseason - NO POLITICS

Yup.  It would be good for him to get some practice with the green dot and making the calls in a live setting.  This idea that a guy who has never started a game in the NFL has somehow 'arrived' and is beyond playing in the PS is just a joke.

Reed Blankenship played well last year and balled in camp. No issue with him sitting.

We all want Nakobe to succeed, but he could boom as easily as bust.

Eagles have clearly made him starter since OTAs.  This is Nakobe Dean's defense.  The organization has given him the keys to the car.

Simply having keys to a car doesn't make someone an experienced driver.

Nothing wrong with him getting some road time.

What kf they are wait8nf to sign. The punt God until right before week 1 so players won't have to deal with questions about him since all .edit focus will immediately ve on week 1 action.

Drunk?

For being such a successful college player, Watson has some of the most egregious big loser energy at QB in the league.

So disrespectful to have Barnett playing

Blankenship played a MUCH MUCH bigger role than Dean did last year.   284 defensive snaps for Blankenship.   33 for Dean.

That said, I'd have no issue and certainly wouldn't go so ridiculously far as to say it would be 'insulting' for Blankenship to have to suit up and play in a PS game either.

Nick has had most starters play a drive or two in the first preseason games the last two years. I think he changed his approach this year in part to playing late in the year at the Super Bowl.

Maybe he said that for only playing them for a short amount of time in the preseason then? I remember him at least saying he likes joint practices more

LB blitzes? This defense > Gannon's.

Desai blitzing in preseason. Hmm, I thought that was disrespectful.

I just remember Hurts played in the first preseason game in 2021 and then pooped his pants in pregame warm ups for game 2. Last year he played the first drive and scored 2 TD’s on one drive in the first game.

Nolan is flashing today

McPhearson is bad. All their completions are attacking him.

McPherson is garbage and doesn’t deserve a spot on this team. Don’t care that he’s the only backup for Maddox. Can do better.

McPherson getting beat like a drum

McPherson continues to not impress me.  I consider him a potential surprise cut.

Would have been more impressive if they managed to force a punt.  2 for 2 on 3rd down so far.   (3 for 3, if you consider they also converted once more but was called back on a penalty).

And giving up yards straight into the red zone... not sure its time to anoint Desai just yet either (or maybe that's me being insulting).

McPhearson looks bad

He is likely insulted for being asked to play in the PS.

He’s always looked bad. Never saw him impress once in any playing time. He’s only getting favored because he was drafted.

The announcers seem to be better (so far) than last week’s crew.

Depends on whether the coaches agreed to it in pregame. Sometimes offensive coordinators will green light the opposing defensive coordinator if they need to work on protection calls or having their QB throw hot. Usually only when the backup QBs are in.

They are bullying McPhearson sheesh

Because it’s the Eagles crew and Ross Tucker actually knows football a bit

Defense really missing Jon Gannon right now.

Me when the eagles defense just allows their opponent to easily just march down the field
