Mariota is a limited backup. If he is better than actually killing the team on the field like butter-hands Minshew last year then they are fine.

The plan is that he holds a clipboard until a 24 point 4th quarter lead.

He’s erratic and a lot of vet back ups look bad in the preseason but yeah. 

Looks like Carter and Davis are done. Didn't play enough to do much, but the push Carter gets compared to second year Davis is noticeable. Granted, that's what Carter is known for, but still. He's essentially a kid going up against older guys. Can't wait to see him mature and develop moves and build up his strength even more.
