Over / under on the number of games Howell plays before Brisett plays?  I've got 4 games (Cards, @ Broncos, Bills, @ Eagles ).  Denver is a tough place to play.  Cards are terrible, but their defense may be decent.  They might make things hard for Howell.

Not gonna quote it, but that's a good list.  McKee has outplayed Mariota for sure, but he's 3rd string at best just because he's so young and this team has super bowl aspirations.  I wouldn't put it past Howie to cut Mariota.  That cap hit would hurt, but it's spread of 5 years.

If you cut him, the cap hit accelerates to all $5mm in 2023

You’re not gonna see Foles or Wentz here.  This is a new era and bringing in either one creates an unnecessary dynamic, for different reasons.

McKee isn’t going anywhere.  The Eagles will carry him on the 53 or do what they have to to retain him.  When you consider that his football development was delayed due to his Mormon missionary work in Brazil for 2 years, not to mention beating cancer — he’s a strong QB prospect.  He talks like a 30 year-old in interviews; a very impressive young man, even beyond football.

Mariota isn’t the 2nd best QB on the roster right now, but the decision to keep him the #2 QB might have as much to do with developing McKee at the proper pace than anything else.

How many penalties did Steen get called for last night?  I thought I heard at least three, two of which were pre-snap.

Don't tell me what to feel.

I think Howell is a better player than Brissett, even today.  If they were to sit Howell down, it would be to give him a chance to observe from the sidelines to slow things down or give him a mental break.  If healthy, Howell needs to be their starter at the beginning and end of this season, though, to evaluate him.  Everyone already knows Brissett isn’t an NFL starting QB.

Having said that, Rivera should have also known last year Heinicke wasn’t an NFL starting QB — yet he left him in much too long as well.

I would rather have Scam than Mariota it’s that bad, Wentz too and I was THE Wentz hater.

The decision to keep Mariota at #2 above McKee will 100% have to do with the contrqct he was given by Roseman.

Yeah, it sucks. I'd keep him over Scott. Better chance Scott clears waivers, IMO.

Wouldn’t get past the Giants 😂

Mariota has been bad so far.  Maybe it's time to consider he-who-should-not-be-named?

I wonder if we could trade maybe a 4th or 5th for Trey Lance?

Zero interest in Lance.  If Shanahan can’t get him to work in that system, don’t see him working anywhere

Eagles aren't going to take a $5M caphit to cut Mariota and they aren't going toncut McKee.  There will be no additions at QB to this team.  They are stuck with Mariota on the roster.

How many penalties

the team wasn't prepared to play , you can add missed tackles too , that's on nick

Mariota being average at best in real game action last season with a below average roster around him is more valuable and telling than him being bad in a preseason game.

Mariota can be the emergency guy and guy that spells Hurts for a drive or two where we just run the ball.  McKee can be the actual #2 should we really need it beyond a game of football.

The only scenario I can see Wentz being brought back is if (God forbid) Hurts were to go down for the year. Barring anything like that, it's not happening.

Good to see ojomo only has a concussion. Cleveland concussion and neck sprain

Doesn't need to suck. Sermon should be RB#3.

It always made sense to me that RB1/2 would be Gainwell/Swift in whichever order, and that RB3 should be the 'power' back, either Sermon or Penny.  Then RB4 would be Scott (or the loser of Sermon/Penny, depending on how close it came out).  Penny just looks slow out there.  He's played ok, but seemed to be running in mud.  Sermon looks faster, and though he had a fumble and missed a block, he also showed he wouldn't embarrass himself returning KOs (same as Scott, who is really not 'good' at it), and even made a nice ST play... AND, perhaps more importantly, put the bad plays behind him and showed well in the second half.  He's younger, has less miles on him and likely wouldn't get through waivers.   Penny, on the other hand, likely will... and can be added to the PS in case of injury.   Scott is another guy I think that they can get through waivers, if the numbers work out that way and they have to.  (Though the Giants might block that, just because... he kills them!).  In case of injury to either of the top 2, Scott moves up to fill their role, and Sermon remains in his role as the power back.

I'm shocked it wasn't the other way around. Ojomo got lit up and his neck bent sideways, where Cleveland fell to the ground and hit his head. Either way, glad there was no serious structural damage.

In that (hopefully does not happen scenario)…pretty sure we would see Foles back before Wentz.

Just a guess.

Return sooner for what? He'll be ready around April but he's going to make a hard push to be cleared by March!

USFL?

Yeah and Kelce would be pulling for him I'd bet, after he was seen out with him recently.

Special teams is going to be an even bigger disaster this year

Just kick the ball out of bounds on punts... every time.  You lose some field position, but won't give up a TD!

On kickoffs, Jake has to put it through the uprights every kickoff.  Same rationale.
