If we score on every drive, it won't matter.

No.  He goes through waivers... if he passes through waivers, he reverts to the Eagles on IR.

Is that form of IR for the whole season, or is it not that restrictive because the player cleared waivers?

Whole season and can’t come off to go to the 53. They can write them off with an injury settlement and sign them back to the roster once that expires.

It's a shame Koy Detmer Jr never got a shot in the pros.  He had the look of a champion like his dad.

How many games did you watch

Good point about the #4 overall pick = UDFA JAG

falcons games?  I think I did watch at least a part of at least one game.

currently I'm watching Lions v Jags preseason.

Running QBs are best.   I wouldn't be here typing if Jalen Hurts wasn't a running QB.

Most fans of most teams are local to the area,  and complain when the team is doing unconventional things like running QB.  They'll stop complaining when the running QB is definitely winning.

Remember how,  just last year at this time, some people, quite a few, weren't confident at all in Jalen Hurts.  Stock up,  stock down on a daily basis.  I was confident.  Running QBs are best.

and yet- he looked god awful so far in an Eagles uniform.

crazy huh?   Preseason really doesn't mean all that much.   It lets some players stand out.  I remember when starters played in preseason.  It was like last year and every year before that.  But now it doesn't matter.

If the Eagles really wanted to win games in preseason, and they don't, and they shouldn't, because they're a great team and they know it,  they'd play starters.   If they wanted to win in the preseason,  they'd have Mariota run a lot.  They aren't doing that, and it seems like they're discouraging that.

The first game with Mariota,  he ran enough to move the chains.  Point proven,  Mariota is fine.  And he's the backup.

Rough day for the family

Tank Bigsby looks like the real deal for the Jags. Another favorite from the draft.

Repeating this mantra won't make it true.   QBs MUST MUST MUST be able to throw the ball effectively to be able to have sustained success in the NFL.  Running adds an extra dimension, but a QB that can only run, but cannot pass will be easier to defend.

For reference, in case you forgot... Tebow did help the Broncos win one playoff game.  But they got blown out the next week, and he was traded by the Broncos that offseason for a bag of balls (essentially, considering the cost for acquiring QBs in the NFL).  He never started another game at QB again.  And only spent that one next season in the NFL, playing ST and some weird wildcat stuff with the Jets.   He was a former 1st round pick and he spent 3 years total in the NFL... after being one of the best running QBs in NCAA history.  Running QBs are NOT best.

The NFL screws running QBs, who are best.

Interesting roster moves. Are we after another punter then ?

They just need bodies for the last PS game. Cannon fodder.

You are the first person I recall reporting in my nearly 20 years of posting.  You can’t possibly think what you post is true….please tell me you’re just trolling for a response.

nope,   running QBs are best.  even if they aren't great throwers, they can win a playoff game.   Great running + average throwing does work.

Have you seen Josh Rosen's balls?  Such pretty balls.   I remember hearing that a lot before the draft.   Such great balls.   How'd he do?   How has the average non great running first round QB pick done in the last 10 years?   Poorly.

How about top running QBs picked in the 2nd round?  Like Jalen Hurts?

They've done well.

People who don't recognize the superiority of running QBs watch too much of the NFL media trash.

Again,  Jalen Hurts is a running QB.  I'm here to watch the running QB.  The Eagles have innovated with the running QB, and it took them to the Super Bowl.  QB power run,  rugby scrum,  short yardage innovation and wins.  The Eagles lost to the Niners in 2021.  First and goal at the one,  the Eagles failed and lost.  I complained about this.  The Eagles innovated,  fixed this problem and went to the Super Bowl the next year.  Some are complaining elsewhere in the NFL about this innovation.  Not me.  Running QBs are best.

Actually it was like a 10 yard slant pass that Thomas took 80 yards.. point still stands lol

When you have a QB who is a great runner, who doesn't pass much,  the defense focuses almost exclusively on stopping the run.  That means that sometimes passes are wide open, and big plays can be made in the passing game,  with the result of a playoff win.   How have the Jets done since they didn't play Tebow at QB and then got rid of him?   Don't worry,  Zach Wilson is the answer?

Obvious Troll doing what trolls do

I know that saying that Running QBs (like Jalen Hurts) are Best will cause Eagles fans to get mad.  It shouldn't,  but I know it will.

You talk too much.

He also has an awesome name that looks like it was given to him by an internet poll of what a RB should be called.

Yea, great play!

Says Jalen Hurts might just be a product of his supporting cast and Marcus Mariota could succeed with the first team.

Just last year there were a decent number of people whining that the Eagles should get Russell Wilson.

I wasn't one of them.  I knew that Jalen Hurts was a running QB and running QBs are best.  Mariota is also a running QB.  Mariota could succeed with the first team.  We know that Hurts succeeds with the Eagles.  We don't know that Mariota would succeed with the Eagles.  But Mariota did take the Titans to 3 winning seasons and a playoff win.  Not as good as Hurts.  But he's a backup.   Mariota is a running QB,  running QBs are best, and he's better than Minshew.

I've never officially blocked anyone, but I've learned over the years whose posts I should simply scroll past because they pretty much don't have any idea what they're talking about.

Why I bring this up now is left for the reader to determine.

Do you guys wanna know how to spot someone who only knows the NFL from playing fantasy football?

More hot takes from Twitter/X. Maybe wait until Fields does something noteworthy before saying something like this? The more we move along in the social media era, the more these accounts care about meaningless stats and highlight plays rather than results. It's going to be at another level this year with all the Bryce Young fanboys added to the mix.

I believe the Bears would have finished with a better than 3-14 record if Carson Wentz had been their QB last season.

You’ve just witnessed what will be his career in microcosm.  WTF is he doing?  Followed by desperation throw landing off target.
