While there's not a lot going on at the moment, here's a question that I came up with and found sort of interesting.

Would you RIGHT NOW....if you were offered...trade Jordan Davis to a team like the Colts (a team you think will probably be bad this year) for a second round pick in next year's draft. You figure it'd be somewhere between 33 and 40.

Has Davis shown you enough thus far that in your heart of hearts makes you think he's going to eventually become an all-star caliber player? Forget what we paid for him. That's a sunk cost. We might only be getting seventy cents on the dollar, but is there a chance that a year or two from now his value would be even worse and we'd be lamenting not getting something of value when we could?

Remember, when we picked him we had no idea that we'd be able to land Jalen Carter the following year.

The coaches see him every day and we've only seen glimpses so maybe this is an absurdity of a question. Still, I honestly don't know what I'd do. I'd certainly give it some thought.

I absolutely would NOT make that trade. You aren’t likely to get someone as talented, and you get that player a year from now when we are in Super Bowl mode.

Davis figures to be a key component of our run defense. And DTs tend to develop slowly anyway.

For me to even consider trading him it would have to involve us receiving a first round pick (maybe we throw in a 3rd or something).

I still think that Davis has the chance to be Vince Wilfork-like.

Lots of long balls tonight... both sides.

Absolutely. He’s a freak of nature physically. There aren’t many people alive that big who can move like he does.

Lol sure

A 3rd in 2024 and a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th in 2025 depending on how he plays in 2023 and 2024 is about the best they get IMO.

A team probably has to give up those assets and pay Taylor with a long term deal.

Sosa might have a shot at the cycle tonight. Already got the HR and triple out of the way

Just too early to even bother with this. Can't look at Davis in a vacuum and hyperfocus on the stat sheet only, and where he was drafted.

1) Seems to be the leader of our young Dawgs posse.

2) Too valuable for run defense as that is an Eagles weakness til further notice.

3) Dean's progress on the 2nd level may depend on Davis eating up space and taking 2 guys with him.

4) On paper, should be a great complement to Jalen Carter and his skill set. Almost 700 pounds of beef right there. Intimidating...

5) Trading him at a low market value here is unnecessary. Team has enough own draft picks & compensatory picks coming. Plus they gave up three extra picks to move up to get him. Can't dump him this low yet!

Inside the park!

Nola got it done tonight.  Hit the showers.

Kenny Gainwell, the Saints 2nd and another pick. Get it done.

100%. Get it done tomorrow.

The Giants' defense has been brutal tonight.

And... since the Phillies just got to double digits tonight, they likely don't score more than 5 in the next two games.

Who would you rather have Huntley or Mariota?

Huntley and Queen for Mariota

Huntley in a heartbeat. No questions asked.

Washington's starters are playing the entire half, getting a rhythm going. Really would love to see the Eagles knock off just a touch of rust but not gonna happen.

They are likely not scoring tomorrow. They’re facing a pitcher they’ve never seen before and the giants best pitching prospect since bumgarner. So there’s a good chance they look like crap offensively tomorrow. They have two things going against them.

Tuck in your shirt Josh Harris. Oh and sell the Sixers.

Why would it be interesting to watch?  Is he going to go elsewhere and shine?

A lot of these guys come down to skill vs will talks at WR.  He lacked the skill and well the Jets are the Jets, so he never got the coaching he needed to tap into potential skill.  If he has the will to continue playing I think he can go else where and do...stuff...ok...maybe.

In all seriousness, if a trade for Jonathan Taylor was going to happen, the Eagles couldn't have asked for better timing.

-The Colts are in town and they can get an up close look at Eagles players they might be interested in.

-With the Colts in town, the FO will have a chance to sit down and really hammer things out and have deep discussions.

-Sirianni LOVES Taylor.

-The Eagles have an extra 2nd round pick, cap space and no clear RB1 (even though Swift is that guy).

-Howie hasn't made a move in a while and is probably chomping at the bit.
