So bringing in a backup QB is a vote of no confidence? All the good QBs don't have backups?

That's got a Wentz vibe to it.

Its amazing that a RB can make a QB lead the league in passer rating and can get a QB to 40 combined TDs. Was it Miles Sanders getting Hurts to 35 last year?

Drafting a QB at 86 in 2022, finding out he's not even backup quality and drafting another one at 33 in 2023 is normal behavior when your QB is entering his mid 30s. What does that have to do with 2019 when Tannehill replaced Mariota?

The Atlanta bit is good. Stop pretending about the Tennessee bit.

Short answer...yes.  Long answer...no.  Don't pretend Tanny is anything more than a journeyman and Tenn is riding it till they get something better the past 3/4 years after he couldn't produce in the playoffs when needed.  You're absolutely naive if you think Tanny is doing much more than guiding the ship.

Tannehill 2019-2021

30-13 with 2 playoff wins 76 TDs 27 picks with a 102 rating. Add in another 18 rushing TDs. 13 GWDs

You do realize it is possible for you to be wrong sometimes? This is one of those times.

Same to you...it's ok to be wrong.  Tanny is a journeyman who had success off the back of an all time elite RB and a very good D for a few years.  Parlayed himself into a decent contract that his team has been trying to find better than for years now.  Any reason why they were in on the Brady sweepstakes after making an AFCCG?  That's where I can admit I'm wrong...because IDK, but he failed that team.

Evans already has 81 receiving TDs which is 30th all-time. (after his age 29 season)

He averages 15.3 a catch (Moss was 15.6 for a good comparison)

He averages 76.1 yards per game which is 12th all-time.

He averages 1158 yards and 9 TDs per year.

The 1000 yard thing is cute but he's a HoF WR even if he had 995 in a couple of those years.

And besides 3 seasons with end career mid-40s Brady he has had crap throwing to him his entire career.

These are journeymen:

This is a 10 year NFL starter who has only played for 2 teams so far.

Keep going though. Maybe talk about how great Miami was from 2012-2018 and Tannehill was really holding them back. 🤣

Tannehill and Mariota have both been average NFL starters their entire careers.  The Dolphins got rid of Tannehill because they thought he wouldn't get them to the Super Bowl.  It's not uncommon for average NFL starters to lose their starting jobs because they're not quite good enough.  Andy Dalton seems like one.  The Bengals were tired of making the playoffs every year and losing right away every year, so they replaced Dalton.

Yet Tenn has looked for his replacement how many times?  Henry is the reason he has that record.

Who have they brought in to try to replace Tannehill prior to them drafting Levis in April? Malik Willis in the 3rd rd in '22? I'd say that was more of a project (i.e. a lottery ticket) rather than a full-fledged attempt to replace Tannehill.

Running QBs are best. Mariota was the 2nd fastest player in the NFL. If Tyree Jackson is on the field, Mariota is unstoppable. Running QBs are best.

The new guy is not gonna understand this.

and he was wrong,  Mariota isn't the 2nd fastest player in the NFL,  he had the 2nd fastest run by a QB last year.  the other stuff is right.

In all seriousness, if a trade for Jonathan Taylor was going to happen, the Eagles couldn't have asked for better timing.

-The Colts are in town and they can get an up close look at Eagles players they might be interested in.

-With the Colts in town, the FO will have a chance to sit down and really hammer things out and have deep discussions.

-Sirianni LOVES Taylor.

-The Eagles have an extra 2nd round pick, cap space and no clear RB1 (even though Swift is that guy).

-Howie hasn't made a move in a while and is probably chomping at the bit.

I just can’t see it happening.  Sirianni may love JT, but Howie doesn’t spend that kind of money for a single RB.

With the oline, Hurts, and scheme, the Eagles don’t need JT to have a well above average running threat.

Speaking of the above...I'll continue my criticism.  What I need and want from Hurts this year is timing routes, figure it the f out.  We have Marvin Harrison/Jerry Rice Jr Light in Smith.  He's our best WR IMO, he needs to get a lot better at timing routes and the combo of him and AJ will be probably the best combo of WR's ever if he can figure that out properly.

You are bewildering.

Davis a bust- played well as a rookie until his injury.  Very good run defender.

Dean a bust- but you have hope

Hurts no timing - yet AJ was the top rated WR for slant patterns last year- a timing pattern.

Willis certainly counts

Counts as what? He was an oversold project that was never going to be seriously considered as QB1 last year and was godawful when he did play, He was benched as back up for Josh Dobbs when Tannehill went to IR

They basically took him because he was a guy talked about as QB1 in the draft at one stage who was still there in the 3rd, but he'll almost certainly be QB3 this year unless the Titans get a trade offer for Tannehill.

Counts as an effort to replace RT. A top 100 pick on a qb isnt a lottery ticket. McKee would be in my mind

I agree the evals on him were way off and over hyped but this is about the titans trying to upgrade Tannehill

They left that in SF though, right next to Tony Bennett's heart.

A half-hearted effort. If you're actually committed to finding the guy who can take the reins of your offense, you're not waiting until the middle of the third round.

Jordan Davis was drafted as a raw project; he had a limited role at Georgia and was perhaps not in the most optimal condition in College either.  He's worked on the conditioning part since being drafted but the key will be the technique part this year or if he just remains as a NT who can bull rush and absorb blocks.  Having Carter next to him will be an interesting thing to watch.

Would I trade him now?  Not unless someone overpaid as he will be hopefully getting a lot snaps this season.

By that logic, Hurts only had success because he has one of the best 1-2 WR duos in the NFL and rode a nearly all-time record setting defense (in sacks)

So is your opinion of Tanny the same now? Like stated before, Tanny was playing at a high level in 2020...33 TDs / 7 ints. Funny enough, he ALSO had AJ Brown
