I agree but I'd rather see Denver vs Boston than Miami.

There is no one I could root for in a Denver vs Boston series.  At least Denver vs Miami I can root for Miami.

Re-watching that first game against the Lions and a lot of people were iffy on Hurts after that game but he put the team on his back to win that one by all means necessary.  He has that special must win every game mentality.  No quit in him no matter how rocky things might be going elsewhere in the game.  Also wild to think about how DeVonta had no catches in the game.  He did all of his great stats for his sophmore year in basically 16 games of production since he posted a goose egg in game 1 against Detroit.

I think there is a chance where DeVonta breaks out this year and becomes the best WR in the NFL.  Really good odds on him for offensive player of the year right now.  I'm financially committed now.

Also cool how the player that killed us the most in that game against Detroit is now on our team.  We had no answer for Swift.

I feel like the kelly green uniform reveal is happening within the next 3 weeks.

About to watch the NFL Films recap of the Super Bowl. Still can't get over how badly we were jobbed, both on the ridiculous overturn of the DeVonta Smith sideline catch on the Eagles final drive that was inside the 20 yard line if it stood. But also the obvious PI/holding/whatever BS call on 3rd and goal. Sickening. Not even factoring in the **** field that didn't allow for any pass rush from either team. Obviously feel that factor benefited the Chiefs more seeing as the Eagles came into the game with the second most sacks in a season behind only the 85 Bears. Just disgusting.

What a screen grab from it from about 10:15 into it. The guy with this face in his hand while the Chiefs fan next to him celebrates standing up.

I can easily root for Denver because of Jokic.

He's really, really good, fun to watch and he's white (just kidding......sorta)

Will never forgive those field conditions.

That Super Bowl forever remains an asterisk.

The NFLE better give us a fair shake next season.

Disgusting finish.  I immediately regret my decision to watch that.

Never will rewatch that travesty.

The NFL owes us one in the next few years.

A 3 straight year run of Ealges-Chiefs Super Bowls would be fun.  Eagles of course would need to win the 2nd to make that 3rd Super Bowl the tie breaker.  That'd be an all time special sports matchup.

I do have a strong vibe that we make it there again this year. I hate that crazy tough grind of games after the bye but overall I do feel like we prevail and get to the big game again.

Also the Blatantly missed face mask on Hurts they refused to call.  Yeah the Eagles definitely got jobbed.  Gannon also obviously played a big part. So glad he is gone.

Found a clip of Jeremiah saying he has Jalen Carter graded higher than he had Quinnen Williams graded in 2019.

If this guy keeps his head on straight the sky is the limit.

Would be amazing if Howie's Saints trade ended up with him getting the best player in the draft at 9.

The other day I spent time going over pass rushers from the 2023 draft, because it's one area I didn't finish breaking down the players and Tyree Wilson looks slow and sluggish to me. But maybe it just looked that way. Will McDonald looked pretty explosive. But a player who stood out to me was Felix Anudike-Uzomah. He looked pretty good.

I will say, bias aside, Nolan Smith has by far the best get off of any pass rusher in this draft. I don't think that guarantees he'll be the best pass rusher, but man his burst and athleticism is off the charts. Hope he learns everything he can from Reddick. His kinda get off is just rare. So explosive.

Regarding Jurgens at guard I thought Howies talk with Kelce on the new heights podcast was insightful. They talked about how Kelce changed the eagles views on having an undersized athletic center.

Paraphrasing Howie said they’ve begun seeing oline similar to WR in that you build it like a basketball lineup with different sizes and abilities that compliment each other. That with the athletic tackles and centers who can move well you need guards who can be firm in keeping the interior strong. Referenced the size of Brooks and Dickerson.

Guys like Wiz and Seumalo weren’t huge relatively but were strong savvy veterans. Howie referenced how Seumalo wasn’t quite ready in 2017.

I think at the very least the eagles aren’t overly confident in Jurgens at guard for the various reasons of size, strength, lack of experience at guard/nfl play time. He will get a shot to win the job but wouldn’t surprise me if steen, Driscoll, or an outside veteran eventually take over the job.

Tried to post a clip of the interview but the file was too large. For anyone interested the time stamp is 1:36:50 to about the 1:40:30 mark,

Howie specifically mentions how the 2017 season gave Seumalo a chance to get stronger (sitting behind wiz) after being forced into the lineup as a rookie due to draft position.

In the end I think the Eagles will start their "best 5” on the OL, and adjust the depth players into the lineup where necessary.  We can be pretty sure Kelce, Lane, Dickerson and Mailata are 1-4; who they see as #5 will come down to a battle in camp.

Driscoll is going into Year 4, and it’s now or never for him to claim a starting job.  I think most see him as a backup at this point.  Jurgens has had a year in the system and has said he wants to be a starter this season, whether C or G.  Steen is a rookie with lots of RT and LT experience, but no experience at guard, other than some reps at the Senior Bowl.  Steen also offers upside as a swing OT off the bench.

IMO the job is Jurgens’ to lose.  I think he should be the 5th best OL on the roster; he will need to prove it in camp.  I’d be pretty surprised if Steen walks straight into the starting lineup at RG.

There's a bit of revisionist history going on here with regard to Seumalo.  He was forced into the lineup as a rookie (2016) due to necessity.  Johnson was suspended for 10 games for illegal substance use, so they were already short along the OL.  Vaitai started 6 games at RT (as a 5th round pick).  He played, not because of his draft status, but because he had to.  Then he was injured too, and they had to move to someone else... and in steps Seumalo.  He only started 4 games as rookie and was inactive for the first 8 weeks of the season.  3 of the 4 games he started, I'm pretty sure he started at RT.   Now in 2017, he might have been overestimated to start at LG because of his draft status and the fact that he wasn't a complete disaster as a rookie at RT, but that's not how things went in his rookie season.   First half of the season he's in street clothes.  1/4 of the season he's seeing spot start duty due to necessity and the other quarter of the season he's on the sidelines as a backup.

I find it funny how the narrative around Seumalo has shifted from "this guy is terrible" to "how are we ever going to replace him."

Sure, howie was quickly speaking about Seaumalos progression but I think the overall point still holds true. It took time to develop into the current stellar form.

I think people are hoping Jurgens can play guard at high level  based on his draft position. But I am not confident that is a reasonable expectation yet.

The guard position is up in the air so Jurgens will have his opportunity in camp but it shouldn’t be seen as a foregone conclusion that he will and maintain the starting job.

I reiterate, if Jurgens or Steen lose the RG starting role battle, don't jump on the "X is a bust" train.

People saw Jurgens look impressive as a center in preseason and seem to be just assuming that its an easy transition to RG.  Ironically, no one believes that Kelce would be a quality guard if he wasn't a center.  We'll see how it all plays out on the field.  Personally, I think Steen has just as good a shot at starting at RG as Jurgens.  Both are switching positions.

Well Jurgens is larger than Kelce.

Everything I have read about Steen since the draft indicates to me is that physically he has what you want but needs a bit developing and working on some big weaknesses in his game.  I think Steen has a chance to develop under Stoutland while outside of the starting lineup.  While Cam Jurgens on the smaller end for guards but I think he is there with everything else.  Jurgens is starter ready and I'll be very surprised if he does not win the starting job at RG.
