Damn, he was going to be the center piece in the Jonathan Taylor trade.

I’ll do it on one condition:

Marcus Mariota is part of the deal.

Gotta dream a little bigger. We could get Minshew in the package as well

I honestly think Kenny Gainwell, the Saints 2nd are a good starting point if this were to happen.

You have to look at Quez Watkins and Milton Williams as potential trade chips. Watkins isn't coming back next year and his speed plus Richardson's arm strength could be a serious weapon. Williams might sound far-fetched but you have to look at Davis, Williams and Carter who will all need new contracts around the same time frame. Ojomo, Street and Tuipulotu make Williams easier to trade. I think Milton Williams is in for a big year but the Eagles have tremendous depth at DT.

Makes zero sense to me. I would rather trade for a LB/S…maybe even DE for when Graham leaves next year.

Who’s the last big name the Eagles haven’t been linked to?

Meanwhile, Howie just casually trades for players not even known to be trade pieces like Brown and CJGJ.

Agents love to leak that nonsense

Anyone can "report” Eagles are interested in a trade because they probably at least make a call on all players available just to check in.

Can’t remember the last time Eagles were linked to a big name that they traded for. They have indeed come out of left field with many of their bigger moves recent years.

Might be TO?

Worth noting, Jonathan Taylor WAS actually at the Philadelphia airport the other day.

Maybe Slay? Forget how much they were linked to him. But yeah TO is the most evident one.

Specifically for a trade, people knew we were in on Jason Peters. That one seemed to be an endless negotiation before it happened

I call BS on the "aggressive" part. This is Howie checking on the price LIKE HE ALWAYS DOES.

This isn’t that big of a surprise as we just saw them here. So there was ample time for Howie and Ballard to shoot the crap. Similar to when the Kareem Hunt stuff popped up when the Browns were here last year.

yeah aggressive though is relative. Maybe only Miami and Philly are returning his calls? (Passive) aggressive

GOnna call fake news on that "report"

Pretty much

This trade isn’t going to happen…

BUT, hypothetically speaking, we aren’t giving up Quez or Williams.

If we make a trade for Taylor, it’s because we are going all in for a Super Bowl. And if that’s the case, we aren’t giving up our #3 WR or a solid rotational DT.

We’d be giving up draft picks and maybe someone like Penny or Sermon who wouldn’t make the roster anyway. We wouldn’t deplete our depth at key positions.

-Olamide Zaccheaus is just as much WR3 as Watkins is. Pardon the source but ESP does do a good job breaking down reps. I think the Eagles would be more than comfortable going in to the season with Brown, Smith, Zaccheaus, Covey and Ward if it meant using Watkins to get Taylor.

-Regarding Williams. Ojomo and Street are very similar to him and Tuipulotu offers a NT backup. If you can get a top 3 RB for a rotational DT and a WR 3/4 regardless of how people feel about RB value, IMO, it's a no brainer.

I'm happy with Swift, Penny and Gainwell as the RB group provided Swift is the focus. I think he's a stud. I also like having multiple 2nd round picks next year. I I don't want them to trade for Taylor.

The guy who is linked to this report, Evan Massey, is a basketball reporter who has tweeted more about a Madden giveaway than anything related to actual football this month. So maybe this isn't exactly the world's greatest source for Eagles-related news.
