In the end I think the Eagles will start their "best 5” on the OL, and adjust the depth players into the lineup where necessary.  We can be pretty sure Kelce, Lane, Dickerson and Mailata are 1-4; who they see as #5 will come down to a battle in camp.

Driscoll is going into Year 4, and it’s now or never for him to claim a starting job.  I think most see him as a backup at this point.  Jurgens has had a year in the system and has said he wants to be a starter this season, whether C or G.  Steen is a rookie with lots of RT and LT experience, but no experience at guard, other than some reps at the Senior Bowl.  Steen also offers upside as a swing OT off the bench.

IMO the job is Jurgens’ to lose.  I think he should be the 5th best OL on the roster; he will need to prove it in camp.  I’d be pretty surprised if Steen walks straight into the starting lineup at RG.

I see them focusing on finding the five that fit the best together to form the best unit. In a vacuum Jurgens may be the most talented player of the guard options with the highest ceiling who can go on to the tremendous career. But at this moment under these circumstances specifically playing next to an undersized center he may not be the best fit.

I am still excited about Jurgens as a prospect and as our future center but I am not confident yet in him being a quality guard this year. Will be the position battle I’m most looking forward to watching play out in training camp.

Alright Howie.  Trade them Mariota as insurance for a mid-round pick.  Raiders then cut Jimmy G.  Sign Jimmy G as a backup.

The Raiders are the best shot at Caleb Williams ending up in the AFC.

Hope they go 0-17.

From Tra/Runyan to Peters/Lane to Mailata/Lane.

We have had two decades of elite OT play. Here's to another decade of same.

I reiterate, if Jurgens or Steen lose the RG starting role battle, don't jump on the "X is a bust" train.

Should be understood (and with little bearing on 2023) that the back up OL with the most offensive snaps last year were Driscoll and Opeta.  Jurgens did get a fair amount of snaps on ST OL, mostly as "TE” and some, I believe at RG (PATs, FGs and Punts IIRC).

I find it funny how the narrative around Seumalo has shifted from "this guy is terrible" to "how are we ever going to replace him."

There was a few of us that defended seumalo over the years. Frankly he got the ire of a lot of fans on here cause he wasn’t as good as Brandon brooks, lane, kelce, Dickerson and mailata. Those guys were better but seumalo wasn’t some bum. I’ve thought for a few years now he’s a abive average to good starting guard in a league desperate for good olineman.

I’m more concerned that jurgens never played guard in college or has had a ton of game snaps at the position at the nfl level. so we are counting on his athleticism, talent and stoutland can get him playing well there this year. I think there’s a chance he’s fine but still a downgrade from seumalo at this point in his career. But i think it’s more concerning that the depth behind him is Driscoll or a rookie in steen if he doesn’t. One is injury prone and the other is a rookie so not sure you can expect steen not to have his ups and downs if it comes to that

Brady is a part time owner.  If Jimmy is cut or injures then Tom is stopping in out of retirement.

I wonder what Eagles make the Top 100.  I'm thinking it's going to be a lot when we are still looked at as the beat roster in the league.

My guesses as locks: Hurts,  AJ Brown, Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce, and Reddick.

Likely: DeVonta, Goedert, Mailata, Dickerson, Slay and Bradberry.

Low chance but maybe: Graham and Sweat.

Unlikely to happen, but want to throw this out for a rainy day just in case.

People still interested in WR depth for the Eagles. If Ravens sign Hopkins, they’ll have him, Beckham, and just drafted Flowers. Bateman could be expendable and hasn’t really taken off yet, though has had injury issues. Wonder if he could be had in a trade to compete for the Eagles slot guy if they get Hopkins.

The RG position is the only significant question mark on offense this year.  So, we'll see how this is answered.  Last year's biggest question mark (Hurts' progression) was answered in such a way that led to a Super Bowl run.  We can only hope that this year's biggest question mark is answered in a like manner.

Ravens won’t move on from Bateman as a 2021 first round pick after two years.  Tylan Wallace, however, will likely be a roster casualty.  Loved his college tape.

Big Wallace guy here myself. Something to keep an eye on.

Lane won't make it.  He should but he's probably the most disrespected O-lineman in the league.  When's the last time he made a top 100 despite playing at a high level.

Devonta and Goedert should make it but they'd be in the 80-100 range if they did.  Maybe Dickerson too.

Mailata, Slay, Bradberry, BG and Sweat I don't see.

I think RG is fine, between Jurgens/Steen/Driscoll and Stout's magic, it won't be an issue.

The #1 question mark on this offense was and continues to be the #3 WR. Quez is a liability.

If you had to choose:

Hurts or Jackson

Is this a serious question after last season?

The only QBs I am definitively taking over Hurts are Mahomes and Burrow.

I want to say Allen due to his ceiling, but he is a backbreaking turnover machine.

For the RG, Jurgens and Steen can battle it out, with Jurgens having an edge on experience and he should be the favorite to win the position.  Leave Driscoll as the swing OT which is valuable.  Decide his future at the end of next season.  Steen may have been drafted as a G, but he may be considered as the future OT.  He probably won't play much his rookie season.  Train him for multiple position and get some game snaps here and there before deciding where to play him.

Steen's arms are a little short for OT... even shorter than Driscoll's.

I’m not sure that backup OT depth isn’t more of a concern than starting right guard. Granted that Dillard could only play on the left side, but I sure as hell trusted him there more than I did Driscoll. Any kind of long term injury to Mailata or Johnson, and we’re really gonna be scrambling.

I would be pretty happy if we could add a Vaitai kind of vet. Or even Vaitai for that matter.

Lane will absolutely make it.  He was All Pro and he has other top players like Micah Parsons fawning over him.

I like him, the Ravens would be foolish to give up on him so soon I think. I would take a look if he was available. I do like the Falcons receiver we got at a cheap price. Thinks he's a solid under the radar piece to the receiver room.

Yeah, I really think they view him as the RG and will be starting there week 1 of the season. Unless he is hurt or has a horrid camp.

I was looking at the Bears roster as I read they may look for a DE via trade and Barnett was mentioned as a potential candidate. Alex Leatherwood may be someone they could move. I don't love him by any stretch but he's pretty young and being in Stouts classroom couldn't hurt. He could be a versatile lineman off the bench. I would think they should throw in a later round pick as well besides Leatherwood.

I didn't see too much else on their roster that would fit our needs and I don't think they'd trade their starting FS and he is expensive anyways. Trading Barnett also frees up a spot for Janarius Robinson.

I’m sure this isn’t news to a lot but a good read nonetheless

Most of the stuff passing as "news" these days isn't, this is actually newsworthy, even if it's events from 50+ years ago.  Medals of Honor aren't just handed out like participation trophies.  Steen comes from good blood lines.

Tbh quality depth along the oline is a overlooked concern. It’s kind of why i think they were kicking the tires on DJ Fluker.
