True, but teams have found a way to work around that by making trades for conditional choices, knowing full well that the condition will end up being a compensatory pick in a specific round. I presume they have built in workarounds in the trade which would kick in if the comp pick ends up being different than anticipated.

It's possible in certain situations, but it feels like those scenarios work when they already have a pick in that specific round and are expecting an additional comp pick. Then they can slap on the qualifier of "whichever pick is lowest/highest". In the Eagles situation, we have two 2nds and then nothing until a conditional 5th from Minnesota and a 5th from Tampa. I don't think the league would approve of a 5th that can become a 3rd, when we don't have that 3rd yet.

I think a pick swap would be more likely. Eagles give a 2nd for player and a 3rd, or something along those lines if the value works out.

LB is looking more and more solid every day.  I have taken it off my list.  Punter is clearly on Howie’s watch list, but I don’t want change just for the sake of change.  I’d rather roll with Siposs.

I’m surprised Safety isn’t on your list.

The deal with Punter is that he also is a critical part of the kick game as a holder.  He would have to be a big punting upgrade to outweigh the uncertainty that you introduce as a holder.

Call me crazy but I like our Saftey situation. Blankenship is playing well, Edmunds should be steady, Brown is our young talent, Wallace has improved.  Sure a top end sure fire starter would be nice but they usually don't shake free this time of year.

After the 2022 draft trade with the Saints for Penning, the Eagles traded for CJGJ four months alter. That was actually a win-win trade. It's not an issue.

The holding aspect is overrated, IMO. We had Covey pinch in off the bench without a problem and then Kern filled in the rest of the season and NFC Playoffs without skipping a beat. I don't think it's that hard of a job to find someone that can punt and also hold without major issues.

I don't think it went over well with other GMs when everyone kept saying what a genius Howie was during the draft.

Yeah, I don't get someone more worried about S than LB

The CJGJ is by itself cause the saints weren’t going to pay him after the year and he had only the 1 upcoming year left on his contract. So they were either taking a compensatory pick when he left (turns out not much after the fact) or saints likely would take the best offer. Likely would’ve taken another offer other than the eagles if they got a better offer. I’m guess the eagles were the team with the best offer on the table so they took it. I don’t think the saints would’ve bypassed better comp just to make a deal with the eagles. It came down to the eagles likely only ones giving up anything for a potential rental with some baggage

What he lacks in size he makes up for in obnoxiousness!

He was also dirtier than Barnett but I'm the only one that seems to care

I consider reports of Wallace's improvement to be similar to Bigfoot sightings. We hear them, but we never actually see it with our own eyes. I remain skeptical. Perhaps I'm being irrational but I have Wallace in my "do not want" category.

Damn, didn't mean for him to get banned.

Holding is a skill, its not really a talent.

Holders can be good holders in general or taught to be good holders.

The onboarding to a new snapper and kicker is much closer to trivial than monumental. Its a days thing, not a weeks thing.

It might take Tanner McKee weeks to get a baseline skillset from zero if he's never done it but most punters are also excellent holders.

This is not like Chooch being awesome at calling a game or Tim McCarver knowing Steve Carlton really well over years

He had 99 tackles last year, 105 the year before.

Last year 4 sacks, 2 ints, 2 FFs, 7 PDs, 1 TD.

Seems like a versatile playmaker, but I don’t know if those tackle numbers are hollow. Seems like the kind of guy who might do well with 2 monster DTs in front of him…

That's the thing. Who knows if the Eagles reached out but they clearly lack talent at LB, let alone playmaking talent. A 7th round gamble at their lightest, and possibly weakest position on the team seems like a no brainer. Maybe there's bad blood between Gannon and the Eagles now and hey, they had no shot. Or maybe the Eagles simply didn't turn that stone.

He's 6-4, nearly 240 lbs and is faster than most players on the team. In 3 years he had 180 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 13 TFL, 7 FF, 2 FR and 16 PD...all without having a position to play. He's going to a team that 100% values his skillset and usually gets the most out of that kind of player.

Couldn't wait to say he was right about Harden, hated the running back position, made a post in the bourbon thread, did not like Sirianni, etc etc....get it now?

So it was Bacarty?

Well.... doing a double check, it COULD be one of those three.  But the way the IP registered makes me thing one was using a vpn to mask and I wasn't seeing the same signs.

Or someone on here with a 2nd account

That'd be interesting. Didn't post like him IMO. Posted more like 4for4 or TorontoEagle

I’d likely eliminate Downundermike since he was technically never banned.

Could be mistaken didnt Mike just leave. or did he get himself banned on his way out?

That’s what I thought. Why I just asked did he get banned on his way out? I thought he just left because he was upset TE and 4for4 got banned
