Jake Funk, formerly of the Rams drafted out of Maryland. One of my guys in that draft class. An example of the late round talent at RB the eagles should be able to identify.

Exactly, I really liked him in that draft as well as a late round guy

I am still watching.

minshew getting payback on the eagles

Jake Funk ran 2 times for 5 yards on a 6-11 team.

Edit: Sorry, he could not get carries on 2 different awful teams as a 2nd year pro

Why are the announcers so surprised Minshew looks good?

He's a solid QB, not sure he'll ever be a starter but he's no chump.

Who was that TD on?

So where a player is drafted is irrelevant. So is what you pay them.

What are your RB relevance rules that the Eagles are failing?

The career  5.7, 4.6, 4.4, and 4.3 yards per carry for the top 4 backs is completely relevant.

The 17 TDs those 4 scored last year is relevant.

I said they shop the bargain bin.  Which is accurate, as I just laid out.  And there's a reason that their VALUE was as low as it was... for both Swift and Penny there is the injury question.  Can either of them actually stay healthy?  So, there's a risk for the Eagles to go with them, and for that risk, they don't have to pay a lot.  It could pay off handsomely, but the Eagles decided not to go with the higher priced players that were available.  There were a few players available and the Eagles chose to spend less resources on RB and put more elsewhere.  That's fine, that's the decision they chose to go.  They don't value RB or LB like they do other positions.  Just the reality.

Compare that to the price they paid to bring in AJ Brown... first round pick AND a huge contract.  That's an investment at top price.  Or the price they put into OL and DL year in and year out.

The yards per carry they have put up when healthy is why you take the risk on those players.  The injury history of those same players is why you don't have to pay the highest prices for them.  You highlighted the positive.   Now, I'll highlight the negatives.

Swift has never gotten more than 625 rushing yards in any season.  He's 'started' only 16 games in 3 seasons.  He's missed at least 3 games every year he's been in the league, but has been limited in a significant number of other games.  And that's the wear and tear of only about 500 touches TOTAL in 3 seasons.  Not exactly a 'workhorse' back.

Penny... 5 seasons in the NFL.  He has played in only 28 games in the last 4 years... averages just 7 games per year.  Again... not too durable.  Yes, he lead the NFL in yards per carry in 2021... 6.3 yards per carry... but only got 119 carries.  Again, not a 'workhorse'.  And in that, he only played in 10 games that year.  The next year, he only played in 5 games.

They have talent, no one is questioning that... but there are question marks, as you would expect in the bargain bin.  Looks eerily similar to the LB room, doesn't it.  They just brought in Cunningham and Jack.  Cunningham led the league in tackles... in 2020.  But since then, he's struggled to stay healthy and has played only 20 games in the last two years.  Only 6 last season.   Jack was a former high 2nd round pick... but also has been dealing with injuries and when he realized he wasn't going to make this team, he decided to retire.  Oh, and then there's Morrow.  One year prove it deal... $1.1M, but he lead the Bears in tackles last year.

Bargain bin players.   Talented... but bargain bin, dented appliance level stuff.   That said, I've shopped the scratch and dent stores, because sometimes you can hit the jackpot with a great machine at a great price and you get more than you paid for.

Well no one is asking him to start, but as a 4th RB he can be a 4 core special teamer and if need be come in if injuries

Jackson playing tough.

Minshew's problem is fumblitis. He's always been an efficient NFL passer. Preseason is nothing to him.

I like this TE with the long hair, can't remember his name and he has zero chance at roster but I hope he makes PS.

That would be Brady Russell.

Yup, maybe he needs to grow all that hair he has on his hands, little scruff in the palms might give Him better grip...😁

Had him open, TV feed picked up the resulting F bomb 😄

We never have exciting backup WRs...

I agree Jackson is earning himself a roster spot over Grant. Devon Allen could also be a top end special teamer as a returner and on coverage as a gunner. Gonna be some interesting cuts coming up…

That one dude who was like 6'7" can't remember his name, had like 7 bowels in it.he sucked but had lots of hype

At least we have exciting STARTING WRs.   Long gone are the days of Charles Johnson and Torrence Small, or James Thrash and Todd Pinkston.... or White Lightning.

Should of been a pick...

That was quite a hold they let go... especially considering the one they called on the long run by Sermon.  Very inconsistent officiating.
