Agreed in principle, but even "good” might be a little strong. An average NFL passer with elite running ability is a nightmare to face for a defense.

Basically as long as you’re a competent passer, athleticism is a massive, massive force multiplier for the entire offense.

But will It win you a title? All evidence say no. And thats really all that matters

Pro Bowl is a joke now.  Players back out and back out and back out, so that the alternate to the alternate to the alternate ends up being a Pro Bowler, but I believe each one that bows out counts as a Pro Bowler.

So that's why there's 10 QBs that made it. I was like how are there so many pro bowl qbs..

Not a great source... but it will point to how each was named...

Interesting that it shows Tua on there as an alternate yet they don't count him on that one graphic

He declined due to injury.  So, maybe he doesn't count... or the graphic was wrong.

They are retuning 9 out of 11 starters on offense.  The only guys new to the team on O of import are Swift and Penny.  Same offense.  No rookies.  Several vets.  They didn't forget to play.

Further, everything you are looking for in your first paragraph actually occurred during the joint practices.  They simulated game situations with play clocks, referees, everything.  They saw Dean organizing the defense.  They saw Blankenship on the field.  If you were following the beat writers, Blankenship was a fixture with the starters all camp.  In fact he was the only safety NOT to dress last night.

I know but what I'm saying is that IMO, which means nothing as a fan, I would have liked to see Blankenship at least get a few snaps. That's all. I have an old school mentality when it comes to practice I realize that. It's a dying mindset and I just need to get used to the way the Eagles do things. I happen to like the way the Chiefs and Steelers do things too.

Omar Epps gets it.  I really fear that the Eagles come out extremely sloppy against the Patriots. Yea, yea joint practices. You can't replicate a real game. Sure you can create every situation you want in a controlled environment but a real game isn't controlled.

I don't think that's going to be an issue.  I have seen bad Eagles teams look good in the preseason and good ones look bad.  I don't think the games have any real impact on the teams ability to prepare and play.

Didn't we just make the Super Bowl? Do people think the one series the starters played last year a month before the season started was actually meaningful in any way?

We got #49 though.

Just purely as a fan, sure, I'd prefer to watch the starters play. The games are much more enjoyable that way. But I've come to accept the new norm. And after last season, I think it's fair to admit that Sirianni's way has been proven to work. Granted, they didn't look great against the Lions in the opener. And I suspect there will be a degree of rustiness against the Patriots. It feels inevitable. But I think that's going to be true for every team as they round into shape.

Meanwhile I like to remind people that the only two teams in NFL history to go 0-16 BOTH went undefeated in the preseason. Which only proves that the results don't mean a damn thing.

So I'm okay with how things went in the preseason. We only suffered one serious injury (McPhearson) but he wasn't a starter and in an ideal world, he's not necessarily someone who would be expected to get major playing time. It sucks for him obviously but all things considered, it isn't something that is going to significantly impact the season.

Not only that, but our later round picks (McKee and Ojomo) but looked good.

So despite our 0-2-1 record, I would suggest that our preseason was a successful one. Let's get the season started. Should be a fun ride.

Just a reminder: Mr. Preseason Seasoning, John Harbaugh, has won 2 playoff games in the last 10 years.

His preseason streak is as valuable as an underwear streak.

I do think BB will have a scheme to challenge Hurts, but i dont think they have the talent on D to match up with our guys across the Offense

Steelers are always stacked at LB.

They just walk outside shake the LB tree and all pros and pro bowlers just fall out.

Ho hum...🤷‍♂️

Isn’t he basically playing the same position as Nolan Smith?

Yers but people are obsessed with the Steelers somehow getting better players than us even though most of the league thinks we have a top roster and have generally outperformed the Steelers in most seasons for years

We struggled against the Niners on our first four possessions.  Only scored because of a blown challenge, followed by three straight 3-and-outs. Then we adjusted and put together some drives to pull away.  I agree with you and could see that as the worst case scenario.

I haven’t paid that much attention to other teams’ bubble players, but In curious if Cleveland or Indy have some guys we’d have interest in that we got to see up close a bit. I liked linebacker Mohamoud Diabate as a late-round flyer. It sounds like he’s had a good camp.

🤣🤣🤣

Did I win the Powerball too?

Dallas trading a 4th for Trey Lance is hilarious.

This is the gift that keeps on giving.
