🤔 indeed SportsCenter

When Jalen Hurts goes to the bathroom that bathroom is a better QB room than the Cowboys.

I can't believe Pre-Season is over (for us). I haven't actually been able to watch even a single snap. Did Hurts play any at all?

Get NFL+   Mine costs $79 a year.  Not live games but I get all games, including PS, immediately after broadcast, condensed games that are broadcast version but just the plays, basically watch a game in about 35 minutes, and a few days later the All22 coaches film for all games.  It’s like another $20 or so if you want Red Zone, which I don’t but fantasy players seem to love it. IMHO a much better deal than Sunday Ticket but I live in the Eagles broadcast area.

This is allowed?

This makes zero sense.  Less than zero.

Some UDFAs get paid more than 7th rounders. Not that shocking some guys would prefer being undrafted.

It is against the rules to sign players to contracts before the draft is over. You're not supposed to even talk to players until the draft is over, but there is a sort of "wink and nod" agreement to overlook that. Everyone talks. After all, how else do you suppose all those guys agree to terms within an hour or so of the draft ending?

That being said, a player cannot "refuse" to be drafted by someone. It doesn't work that way. A team could still draft someone if they choose.

No but he had a sweet catch on the sideline.

Considering that Trey Lance has made as much impact in the NFL as Ian Book I'd say NO.

It’s terrible phrasing

The 49ers expendable 3rd string QB and a QB that was so good, he was a cutdown/PS QB  for Dallas last year and exposed when he played the Eagles.  Yep, adding them with the NFL interception leader (with games missed) clearly gives them the strongest QB room in the NFL.

First  fantasy draft tonight. Will I be high and draft Nico Collins in the 3rd round like last year, possibly.

I understand why the player would prefer it.  Team they choose rather than a team that chooses them, but I would expect the player wouldn’t be that assertive.  Howie choosing to pass on a player who wants to be elsewhere isn’t a surprise.  However, the 7th round is really for players who the team wants, but doesn’t think they will be able to get in UDF, so the scenario described fits that setup to a tee.  What that tells me is the Eagles really didn’t want him all that much.

I believe calls happen all the time, like calls that if you are available, we are considering you sort of calls.  I think those are sort of allowed. (May be bending the rule but not breaking it.) I suspect he got that, then the Eagles had Ojomo available and liked him more.  Kid probably misunderstood what was happening.  I think those calls start happening in the sixth and are "interest” calls.  I don’t think they have deals in place. If Tampa had more than an interest call, they would have gone further than allowed.  But I do suspect the agents get some suggestion of what "might” be considered.

Ding ding ding

Watching the most recent Hard Knocks episode... Most interesting team they've followed in years. Good watch.

So with that being said, can the Eagles approach Tampa Bay for tampering and maybe squeeze a 7th rounder in 2024 out of it? Seems strange to have a player come out and say that.

Checking my Xwitter for hints at Howie moves and all I get is something about the Eagles and sports bras (and pictures of Trump and 6’3” athletes - which is kind of dumb as I am the same height and weight of Kyron Johnson and pretty sure he would be offended by the comparison).  C’mon Howie.

Dan Arnold cut and Tyree Jackson.

Yes, they could.  But, why would they and then have to worry about if that player will refuse to sign with them?   Then the team loses the ability to add a player with that pick.  Granted, the downside for the player, if the team wishes to hold their rights is that they have to wait another year to go back into the draft again the following year.  But, why would you want to deal with that on a 7th round pick?

Panthers waived Bumper Pool.  Loved the name.  Play, not so much.

He played aggressive last night. Probably the equivalent to Christian Ellis. Great read and react but fails to make the tackle.

We asked the Eagles for better training camp coverage. They mistook that for training bras.

So two of the Eagles top 5 WR haven't been practicing because of hamstring injuries. When's the last time Quez was practicing? I wonder if that will have an impact on the initial 53 man roster forcing them to keep a 6th WR or if they will just go WR on the PS.

As of right now, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith and Olimade Zaccheaus would be the only healthy WR on the 53.

Just thinking about scenarios as we wait for Tuesday.

53 prediction

QB (3): Hurts, Mariota, McKee

RB (4): Swift, Gainwell, Penny, Scott

WR (5): Brown, Smith, Covey, Watkins, Olamide, Covey

TE (3): Goedert, Stoll, Calcaterra

OL (8): Mailata, Dickerson, Kelce, Jurgens, Lane, Steen, Driscoll, Fred Johnson

DE (3): Sweat, Graham, Barnett

SAM (4): Reddick, Smith, Patrick Johnson, Kyron Johnson

DT (6): Carter, Davis, Cox, Williams, Marlon T, Ojomo

LB (3): Dean, Cunningham, Eliss

CB (6): Slay, Bradberry, Maddox, Jobe, Ringo, Ricks

S (5): Blankenship, Brown, Edmunds, Evans, Wallace

STs (3): Elliott, Siposs, Lovato

Wallace eventually out either for a trade/waiver claim, Ojomo to IR after cutdown. Street and Morrow (or other LB) back after week 1.

Biggest wild card might be backup center. Think they might do a small trade or look to the waiver wire. Don't think they love the idea of moving Jurgens around.

Went especially heavy at SAM. Logic is Kyron Johnson is a more valuable piece than Tyree Jackson or Mekhi Gardner. Plus, STs value.

Welp Tyree Jackson already waived. So much for that.
