Well... he was "actually" waived by the Bills before.  ;)  But, he was still a failed QB back then, not a freakbeast TE.   You are right though, him not ending up on IR I suppose is a step in the right direction for him at TE.

And,  Cuts Are In.  Over 10 Eagles cuts, and many other teams are cutting players.  We have people talking about those cuts.  And others are talking baseball.

Cuts are starting, people are typing about them.

Point is that it isn't early July.

I personally don't care if people want to talk about the Phillies.   I'm commenting because other people mentioned the baseball talk, and I replied to them.

The Phillies talk is annoying, i know nothing about the Phillies and little about baseball so I just ignore it all, I suggest if you're not going to chip in just ignore it

I was at that Cliff Lee game

The 2011 loss is more painful to me than the 09 WS loss. The Phillies were a much better team than the cardinals and everyone in baseball. The 2009 Phillies were really good and it sucked watching them lose that WS. but going into that series i thought the Yankees were the better team unless hamels had a Ricky Vaughn major league 2 flip the switch moment.

RR is just upset there are no RAS numbers for MLB players. If he finds out some MLB players used to play QB in high school...

Nah,  there was something MLB did that caused me to say F them.  I used to follow MLB a lot more a while ago.  Right now,  I just don't know baseball players at all.  Baseball has a lot of stats to analyze so it's not a shortage of stats.

Gotta keep it about football guys. Texans out here upsetting the lions

Eagles let go of all of their third preseason game signings.  Brooks gone too.  Also King and Haselwood too.

Tweets only show as links for me now.  Don’t know how to restore to visible.

Don't know why Tyree Jackson has to either be a complete mirage or a super freak potential superstar. Wouldn't rule out a Logan Thomas type career. Still shouldn't have beaten out Calcaterra.

Go start an RAS thread. After a week when you’ve spent all your time replying to your own posts, maybe you’ll finally realize how you’re viewed here.

  1. a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style.

Yeah, but this is just a message board.  there is nothing about this particular thread that makes it a blog.  It's a free for all conversation thread on a message board that is called blog.

Again, I don't really care.  Others mentioned "Y baseball"  and I responded.  This particular thread is a time kill thread.  I'm not complaining.  I can scroll past things I don't care about.   But I answered the "Y baseball" question. And now we're going back and forth,  killing time, which is the point of this particular thread,  called "blog" for some reason.   I suppose that this particular blog thread is the go-to thread for killing time on this message board.  No problems all around.

I can't believe we cut Johnny King.  I don't know what the hell Howie is doing right now.

People really complaining about Phillies talk? They must be new around here. Either that or they want 5 more pages lamenting the loss of Tyree "Antonio Gates" Jackson.

Post their respective RAS scores.  That's the only true way to scout a player.

Post their RAS scores YET AGAIN.  That's the way to go.
Mariota - 9.97 as a QB
Tyree Jackson - 9.95 as a QB

Jalen Hurts - 9.56 as a QB
Nolan Smith - 9.98 as a QB

Hurts and Smith were both dinged for height.  All of their running, jumping, etc,  was 9+

Better yet, let’s keep suggesting putting your f’ing first round pick EDGE rusher as a PR. Because that’s talkin football babyyyy

Nolan Smith, if he could return punts, would be a great punt returner.

Otherwise,  Britain Covey did an above average job last year and there is no reason to replace him.

Why do you think I got married?

Before Covid I was on the road for 4-5 days a week so I did ALL my grooming in hotels because, f it. I don’t have to deep clean the bathroom there.

Now I trim my beard in the garage because it’s fn impossible to get every stubble, apparently.

That is one of the top 5 ways the pandemic changed my life.

This is the equivalent of Lurie saying he only gave his opinion 3 times during the draft. Lane Johnson, Russell Wilson and Jordan Mailata.

Count to 10, and zip up your zipper before you go out in public.  More than anyone in this thread you shoul be the last to complain about inane and/or off topic posts.

And not a single cut/release they made was surprising.  I know you were surprised Tyree Jackson was waived... again.  But those of us who were paying attention already figured out that he wasn't going to be on the 53.   He was clearly 4th on the depth chart at TE, and the Eagles weren't going to keep 4 TEs.

No, I wasn't really surprised that Tyree Jackson was cut at this time.  I never said that I was surprised.

I think that Tyree is better than Calc,  I think he's a better red zone threat.  Has the versatility, is just TE tall.  But most here at least didn't seem to see it that way,  so I wasn't surprised that the Eagles kept Calc.  Maybe Shane wants Calc?  If Shane wants Calc and the Eagles want Taylor, the Eagles could bundle a few players with a lower pick like 3,4 or 5, which would include Calc.

I think that the Eagles want to keep more than 53 players, and the specific things that they're doing are designed to allow them to keep as many of the players that they want to keep.   I think they thought that they would be able to keep Tyree if they cut him,  he'd clear waivers and they'd be able to add him to the practice squad.   I don't know if that's what they're going to do, but that's what I'm guessing.

They wouldn't have cut Jackson if they intended to trade Calc

Nah, you're overlooking their game stats in second halves of preseason games against opposing third string players. Those are just as critical.
