That might explain why teams would return a ball that lands short of the goal line rather than fair catch it. But it wouldn't account for the kicking team's hitting the ball into the endzone. Heck, all four of Elliott's kickoffs against the Colts were hit into the endzone, three of them out of the back.

The Eagles' primary goal of the PS is to get through it without injury... so they eliminate the kickoffs.   Of course, that might help explain why their ST coverage units are fairly weak too.

Might need to make sure Elliott kicks all kickoffs out of the end zone AND the punter put the ball out of bounds too!

Milk Duds Candy Chocolate & Caramel - 5 Oz - Randalls

In 1988 I made a practice of buying boxes of Milk Duds and putting them in the freezer and then eating them with bowls of Cap'n Crunch while watching Notre Dame games. They went undefeated and won the national championship that year, so I consider the practice to have been worthwhile. They're still a "go to" candy for me but I've abandoned the idea of freezing them. Not good for sixty year old teeth. I could get away with that ish when I was in my twenties. But no more.

I think you need to do what you need to do for the Fightin' Irish.  Put them in the freezer, but then pull them out a few hours before kickoff... then eat them as before.

Was never a Milk Duds guy but now I'm craving Whoppers.

These would be very similar to Maltesers, which I used to eat in my high school years in the 80s.  I believe they were sold in the US for a short time:

The guy has been waived about six times in three years and only punted for the Steelers briefly when their starter was out.

I'm curious what anyone sees in him other than he's "notSiposs".

Because Siposs was ranked 33 out of 36 last year and he kinda chokes when the chips are down. With Waitman being left footed, it is a good change up and requires more preparation by opponent. Stronger leg, as Siposs just doesn't have it. Kempski goes over comparison in recent article. We know who Siposs is, this guy could have room for growth and has a higher floor.

I'm sure there's interest. He's still young. Problem is what Colts want in a trade and then what Taylor wants in a contract

I don't think milk duds are good for any age teeth, they're so sticky, it's like eating the La Brea tar pits,  only candy I can think of that's worse is, Dots, just as sticky but no chocolate or caramel payoff...☹️

Used to get a bucket of whoppers from Costco every year for Christmas when I was a kid.

Not talking … pontificating, and/or bloviating.

well, it's actually typing, not talking.

It's giving data.  ras compare 1 vs 1.    I do a lot of that.

It's true that I type the same type of stuff over and over.  What they did in high school.   Combine data, pro day data.

Most people here are doing conversational chat.   For the most part, they aren't giving data.

About RAS, specifically,  I prefer sparq,  but the sparq page - 3sigmaathlete is gone.  Makes sense because this is the US, and in the US, things get worse.

Good news! Waitman has perfect technique holding balls. He's hired. Forget, if he can punt.

The annual NFL agent survey came out - the comments about Howie are:

  • "Howie deserves so much credit, but a GM is only as good as their scouts, and the Eagles have had a great staff.”
  • "Look, I hate to say it, but (Roseman) keeps putting together good rosters and wins games.”
  • "Sometimes he’s cutthroat, but (Roseman) finds a way to get the right guys for the roster and their salary cap.”
  • “(Roseman) gets ahead of extensions and gets guys to take less money. That’s a sign.”

Nothing that surprising

But the comments on Irsay are kind of funny

What's the discussion about Rodgers and Lamar? Just talking about if Rodgers still has it and if Lamar can go back to his MVP year that was like 5 years ago?

Thoughts and Questions from Aramis Thorn: Eight Ball Answers ~ My Sources Say No

Besides being a ruthless general, and by modern standards a bigot and an antisemite, Sherman was also fond of the theater. He once attended a performance of Hamlet but left early, after expressing, loudly, his contempt for the actors. He was also a painter and his wife a superb needlepointer. He wept on the battlefield when he saw the dead and wounded, but he proposed a "final solution" to the Indian problem. Yes, in those words. As part of his war against the Indians, he ordered the slaughter of five million buffalo. He was probably, after Lincoln, the finest wordsmith of the Civil War. His letter to the mayor of Atlanta is a classic piece of writing.

Letter of William T. Sherman to James M. Calhoun, E.E. Rawson, and S.C. Wells, September 12, 1864 · Civil War Era NC (ncsu.edu)

Under reported was his role in the gold rush.  Was present at Sutter’s Mill on behalf of the territorial Governor shortly after the discovery of gold and helped survey and layout of Sacramento.

In a way, he married his "sister”.  His father died leaving his mother with a bunch of kids so he was "fostered” to his wife’s family.  Later, he married her.  (Foster is a modern take, apprentice as labor help might be a better way of putting it.). Another example of why we have to be cautious applying standards from a twenty-first century view to almost two centuries ago.  Heck, until we moved from a primarily agrarian society where transportation was primarily on foot with some use of  horse or oxen, folks married nearby neighbors/fellow churchgoers primarily.  So you have cousins marrying on occasion and it wasn’t at all unusual where your brother/sister might marry the sister/brother of your wife.
