Depends. Did the corn hole test well with 3 cones in it?

I prefer the 3 seashell method

Well yeah, look at their record.  Team is doing well so the fairweathers come on out to the park.

no need to talk about me.

I think people just use this thread as chat.

I don’t know about that.

Sign with a good team (and how often do they need a new HC, really?) and the expectations make it really difficult.

If you win you ‘just’ had a good team - if you lose you must be terrible. Now sign with a bad team it’s just the other way around. I’d rather be the guy that gets a franchise back on track.

I get that, but some franchises have bad owners that don’t have the patience to wait and see.  The Cardinals franchise just gave a ridiculous contract to a guy who would rather play Call of Duty than get better at playing QB.  They are taking steps to get themselves in the Williams sweepstakes, but that is still a several year process.  Is Bidwill a patient enough man?

So.... Did I visit the Phillies message board by accident?

I just scroll past the baseball talk just like I did for the other non football talk

Insight from punt experts not named Skippy.

Surprised they haven't brought in Matt Araiza just to try out

It’s not hard to scroll past the non football stuff. The only stuff that really bothers me is when it veers into politics. We get enough of that crap shoved down our throats in our daily lives. No need for it here,

I expect to be glued here most of the day. Love the excitement of final cuts.

Organizations perform background investigations on these types of prospects.  It’s very possible Dom’s group has checked into this guy’s background and advised the Eagles to steer clear of him.  He got cleared of criminal wrongdoing because of a lack of evidence, but getting accused of gang raping a girl is not usually anyone’s first rodeo with regards to bad behavior.

I wouldn’t doubt there are other skeletons there to be unearthed

Yeah getting off a charge of Rape / Sexual Assault is more often than not more indicative of the high bar of proof required to bring charges in a lot of states and it's not worth the reputational risk of what might come out in the civil suit for a position where the gap between elite and good enough isn't worth much on the scoreboard.

The Eagles have shown a willingness to give guys a shot they believe in but to the original point there's probably something there they don't like despite the case not going forward

I follow the cuts with a degree of sadness.  Very early in my career, i had to sit down an employee during the training/probationary period and tell him he wasn’t making the cut.  Dreams will be extinguished today.  Tough days for coaches, GMs and players.  We groan over the loss of a Toohill, when in reality that player has a chance to double or more his salary (difference between PS salary and rookie minimum) and fulfill a dream.  I understand the excitement but unlike signing UDFAs, this is more like OTA tryouts in my reaction.

There are reports the Jaguars are going to release QB Nathan Rourke.  Somebody should pick that guy up; he outplayed CJ Beathard by a wide margin (at least in the preseason games -- not sure about Jags scrimmages).  He seems to have that 'certain something'.

He's Canadian, though .... so he might be prone to throwing the ball out the back of the end zone occasionally .....

I don’t like how their heads flip sideways when they talk.

Eagles usually announce all cuts at once? Or do they usually leak as cut day progresses?

Yes

I am predicting a crazy cut down day with multiple trades.  Probably the craziest one in the last 30 years.

They make every effort to talk to the players before they announce it.  I think they announce all of the roster moves at once.  The leaks are usually from players or agents to reporters.

Please report all Phillies posts you see in this thread as they are off topic and not related to the Eagles.

Lol this is a Philly sports team forum. It's on topic just like it would be at a Philly sports bar.

Stop being racist against Canadians.

Nicer than the belt I was sporting at the 2005 eagles-broncos road trip & game.

It was close to Halloween and I went as Freddie Mitchell. (No blackface)

What a crappy game that was.  Cold, rain and a blowout.

Funny story: my wife hates football.  Got tickets for the game.  We are walking in and she can't find her ticket... she says she'll just go home (my brother and family are also with us at the gate).  She leaves.  Get to our seats and some guy is in my wife's seat.  Says some blond lady gave him the ticket!  Turns out she was the smart one of the group.

They usually announce them officially all at once, but that doesn’t stop the info leaking out throughout the day.

Wouldn't dream of it.  We brought the world:

SCTV -- one of the best sketch comedies of all time

4 On The Floor -- extremely humorous

Trailer Park Boys -- very funny in spots

Kevin Spencer -- kind of like an animated Trailer Park Boys

Corner Gas -- not sure I've ever even smiled at that one

Kids In The Hall -- pure crap

Tough year for music; we just lost Gordon Lightfoot and Robbie Robertson.
