How sad is it going to be when it comes out ESP had the most accurate 53 roster prediction among all the beat writers?

The competition will cease to have meaning.

Observation:  Albert O is faster, taller, gets better separation, has better hands than Pascal or Ngata.  Folks wondered who the blocking, "big” receiver would be.

Are you sure on that part? I would think they could, but would just lose out on any subsequent claims if they've already won their first and cut the guy.

Oh, that's a possibility too. Maybe.

That might make it more awkward for teams to put in multiple claims. Rather than simply saying "well, we'll waive Sua Opeta" if we win a claim won't work if you put in multiple claims. You'd have to specify in advance, "if we get player A we'll waive Opeta; if we get player B we'll waive Calcaterra; if we get player C we'll waive Goodrich". You might end up losing the third guy you'd want waived rather than your top guy.

My guess is that there will be fewer waiver claims this year than in the past.

Also I wonder if other teams would get to see who was on your "if" list. I suspect not but I wonder.

Either it's forbidden to double list like UK said, or it's allowed but subsequent claims are automatically voided once the designated player is already cut.

Maybe the Eagles just aren't going to punt this year.

Calcaterra, Opeta, Street, Marlon T, Goodrich shouldn't get too comfortable. 4 WR, 3 LB, 0 Punter will be changing sooner than later. Have to imagine that Street, Marlon, Opeta are being shopped.

4 WRs? My god that’s terrifying.

Does Britain Covey really move the needle that much for you?

Isn't that the CB from South Carolina they just drafted?

No he doesn’t but I thought Ngata was an interesting guy and ultimately 4 WRs is just so so thin.

Dont get RR started on ways that Eli Ricks can play WR because he had a pick 6 in a preseason game

Slay can play WR in a pinch :)

I don't think it's that much of a concern. We only had 5 last year, Covey being the 5th guy. You could argue WR 1 through 4 is stronger this year than last. Plus we have other receiving options we didn't have last year like Swift and possibly this Albert O fellow.

I'm also guessing Ward and probably Covey make the PS and one of them will be end up elevated on gameday.

The intent, I think, is making waivers binding and asking teams to think, do I need to claim that player?  Rather than claiming 01 players, seeing who you get, and then working backwards on the cuts. Will help players retained on the initial 53 and those who are released choosing the right fit for them.

Kind of like fantasy football

Suck it Georgia

5th round pick, who is a 6'2 CB and runs a 4.36 in the 40

I guess the only snag is he's lousy at .... playing football

Who the hell is Okwuegbunam?  Never even heard of him or saw him in preseason or any of the practice tweets.  Hell of a long shot accomplishment to make the 53.  Also surprised at Kentavius Street making it.

Since you're talking about me,  Ricks doesn't have good combine numbers so I'm not going to try to find extra work for a slow guy.

Ras compare as WR - Ricks v Vansumeren

Traded for him today

Most interesting thing from a pretty much BS say noting while answering questions presser was when asked about LB and versatility, Nick mentioned "Pat”.  I tend to think of Patrick Johnson as the fourth DE and he did get some snaps there, but I am pretty sure Nick was referring to him playing some ILB.  He’s not slow but he isn’t more than mediocre ILB speed.  After OTAs, I remember researching coverage snaps from college and Patrick Johnson had more of those than either Smith or Kyron Johnson.  Now that was AAC not the NFL.  Interesting.  Seems almost randomly regular.

Arguably their OL6.

they just traded for him today.  very fast for how big he is.

Only 3 true DE on roster....1 of which is on trade block

Yet three under 300 pound DTs.  Didn’t you notice that Milton has been playing some DE in practice.  Desai, like Gannon is going to give you three, four and five man fronts.
