Yes, he wanted to throw it to Ertz and I think that's where they attacked the defense in part to alleviate pressure and give Foles easy reads.  I know you can point to the running game as a being better on the 2022 team but I don't think that's really reflective of the talent at RB.  Sanders and Gainwell were non-existent in the Super Bowl.  Part of that may have been the turf but they just were not tough runners.  Blount and Ajayi destroyed the Patriots in the Super Bowl.  There wasn't a runner on the team, aside from Hurts, that made the Chiefs worried.

Of course in that particular moment, given the experience of the four weeks leading up to that moment, Foles absolutely wanted to throw it to Ertz.  Ertz was far and away his most reliable receiver.  However, if those four weeks had been with AJ and Devonta rather than Alshon and Torey, Foles' accumulated experience would have been considerably different.

I acknowledged that if you limit your comparison to the specific RB players, 2017 was better than 2022.  However, having better RB players is only part of the Running Game's effectiveness.  In addition, like many others, you are only focused on one game.  A season is 20 games.  With that said, you are correct in your assessment of SB LII where the team rushed for 164 yards.  In SB LVII they only rushed for 115, and 87 of that came in the First Half.

I just read a Michael Gallagher article on 4 2022 Playoff Teams Who Could Miss The Postseason in 2023.  He listed the Giants, Chargers, Dolphins, and Bucs.  I agree wholeheartedly with all.

Giants -- the entire NFCE will likely be 1-2 games below last season's win totals.  Can't see the Giants being any better than an 8-9 team this year

Chargers -- I forgot they even MADE the playoffs last season, after that epic bed-crapping playoff loss to the Jaguars last year

Dolphins -- they're one Tua concussion away from being not very good again

Bucs -- do they have any talent other than old talent?  Their division is up for grabs, but I see them more likely last than first.

I don't agree with the Chargers.  I think Kellen Moore will have a positive influence on that team.  He wasn't the problem in Dallas

Agreed. Dallas will take a step back with McCarthy calling the plays.

Although, whoever called that QB draw last year should be flogged.

I know it's just OTA's and it's a 3 second clip but at the 22 second mark, Ojomo looks like he moves really well.

Perhaps not, but Staley is the problem in LA.  Until he's fired I don't like their chances of improving.

Interesting ball security thing they have setup with ropes connected to the ball that coaches are trying to pull out of the RBs hands.

Giants would be my pick to win the division. If thr Eagles don't.

Ghost looked jacked. He followed Edmunds who is a big S (217) and looked bigger.

Who is ghost?

Interesting thought experiment: rank QBs based on value for next 3 seasons.

Aaron Rodgers, for instance, strong value this year. Good value next year. 3 years away though? It’s already a gamble if he plays in 2024, you almost can’t even rank him for 2025. Do you trust Cousins in 3 years? He could be on a terrible team or also retired. Let’s say Russell Wilson has a big bounce back next year, do you still trust him 2 years after that at… 37ish? Same with Stafford; I think he can be just as good as he ages due to being a statue, but is that enough time to take Bryce over him? But then with Bryce, year 1 is probably a wash, year 2 is 50/50, and then only year 3 will be most likely to be dominant (if at all). So you could probably get more in that span over Stafford

"He made great throws in the Super Bowl but if they were a foot off target then we would be questioning his decision making"

What a joke.  Great QB made great throws.  That's what great QBs do.

Davis looks noticeably trimmer. That's good, dude was way too fat last season.

I found it interesting they took the same tact as I did in terms of ranking the young QBs who excel in the pocket over the young QBs who are more dual threat.  Saying that, they ranked Josh Allen too high.  Until he shows he can moderate his game to absorb less punishment, I wouldn't rank him as highly as they did.

My top 8 rankings would be:

1.  Mahomes

2.  Burrow

3.  Herbert

4.  Hurts

5.  Allen

6.  Lawrence

7.  Watson

8.  Jackson

FWIW, Jurgens says he’s 305 and hopes to get to 310-315 by camp.

A lot of people are sleeping on Cleveland’s Oline, it’s fantastic. That’ll help Watson a huge amount next year; it’s not an accident the 2 SB teams had the top 2 MVP candidates playing behind the 2 best Olines

Other maybe notable things: Jobe and Greedy rotates opposite of Slay; McPhearson maybe was in the slot because both Maddox and Scott were out (or they’re trying to get him up to speed to be backup nickel and to find room for his ST ability); Kyron Johnson practiced with the off-ball LBs so maybe he isn’t an edge anymore.

Can nasty Nate be a guy who was previously on the roster? Or is it only a new player?

I'm a fan of Ojomo. Hoping he makes the 53

Even if Street outperforms Ojomo in the preseason, it would be silly to keep Street.  Guy is mature beyond his age and has potential to play up an important role up and down the line.  I'm thinking a more athletic Brandon Whiting.

He was not fat. He's just a naturally large person.

Davis at 330 though? Could be dangerous for the OL.

I think Ive completed all of the autpgraph cards I want to collect for now. I had trouble springing over 60 bucks for a Jalen Carter right after he got drafted. But this afternoon I snagged this beautiful Bowman U Inception card for only 23 dollars.

Not paying attention?  That’s the nickname the DBs gave the only white DB last year.  Best use of Ghost since Casper (the TE not the cartoon character).

ghost is a great nickname
