What a joke.  Great QB made great throws.  That's what great QBs do.

Great QBs give their guys chances to make a play. Both our receivers are excellent at catching contested throws, let them go get it.

ghost is a great nickname

It’s a horrible nickname.  Do you really want a player who is invisible when the big plays need to be made?

You mean a player who scares the opponent

He’d be a nice fit as a slot/punt returner but probably can get more elsewhere.

I don't think ghosts are invisible.  Phantoms are invisible.  Phantom is still a good nickname depending on the position.  Ghost is a good nickname if it's a spooky position like LB or S.

He would be a great fit as the punt returner... and would be a decent fit as a slot.

I bet you're a lot of fun at parties

Ghosts are mostly incorporeal, haunting old buildings.  They are figments of the imagination

I would assume the Eagles would consider trading for him.  His base is $6.5 million in 2023 and $11.1 in 2024 but those are fairly reasonable numbers.

I don’t go to parties. Tomorrow is an exception.  My Mother’s 100th birthday.

Are we having a scientific discussion about the existence of ghosts or a discussion about the meaning of the term.  I think fundamentally ghosts are visible and scary although I agree they have no corporeal being.

Ghosts are 100% products of the imagination.  If you did an inventory of all the literary references to ghosts, most would be invisible.  The most frequently referenced ghost, the Holy Ghost of Christianity’s Holy Trinity, is referred to in the liturgy as "invisible.”  Effectively ghosts are beliefs rather than things.

Especially since they would save money by cutting quez.

Classic "me"

Likely for 2-3 1sts.

So it’s not just Jalen Hurts’ Eagles career we’d have cut short, but we most likely don’t trade for AJ Brown, nor keep the pick that we ended up trading to the Saints to get Jalen Carter. And then possibly one of Davis or Nolan are also gone. One of the luckiest moments in team history just occurred and no one even knew

Well there's no question that nicknames need not refer to actual things in reality (e.g. Brian "Weapon X" Dawkins), the words themselves have meanings.  When people think of ghosts they do not necessarily think of the Holy Ghost but ghosts that are frightening and make their presence felt without being able to be caught. Red Grange was nicknamed the Galloping Ghost because of his elusive running style.  https://www.espn.com/sportscentury/features/00014213.html  Grantland Rice in giving the nickname described his performance where he gained 262 yards and scored 4TD in 12 minutes as follows:

A streak of fire, a breath of flame
Eluding all who reach and clutch;
A gray ghost thrown into the game
That rival hands may never touch;
A rubber bounding, blasting soul
Whose destination is the goal.

Theologically speaking the Holy Ghost is consubstantial with Jesus and God while also being a distinct person.  He has also been described appearing as fire and wind. Nevertheless, when an NFL playes is assigned a nickname like ghost I think the reference is to a frightening, visible and elusive presence impacting the game.

I don't think there's any reason to cut him but maybe include him the trade. I do think Quez has value as a backup outside WR.  He's talented and fast.

Interesting tidbit, Matt Patricia was on the field at OTA's in full team gear, so it is much more of a hands on role than just a remote, special projects role some speculated.

:unsure: Matt, I know you're probably the closest to actually becoming one of anyone in here, but you do realize that calling him "Ghost" doesn't actually MAKE him one, right?

They aren't calling him ghost because of his play, they're calling him it because of his skin color. They could just as easily call him Mayo, Wonderbread, or Wite-out.
