If someone’s gotta win it, that’s probably the one.  Sermon is a pretty strong candidate.

True, there were a lot of people including local media saying sermon was going to make the roster over penny or Scott or eagles keep 5 RBs, Nic talked him up over the summer and then in games he showed he didn't belong

I never really got the hype over him, never saw anything from him where I said eagles need to find a way to keep him.

Oh well no big loss.

You didn't know about the punter ceiling??

Wasn’t that what Brett Kern hit with one of his punts last season?

Zentner, easily. Not even close.

They do like Mann. Dominant on kickoffs and a good holder. Very inconsistent punter. Jets fans did not like this guy, but who knows!?

Is that like the hitting the scoreboard in Dallas?

They tried to claim him once already, so there's something they like about him.

I'd pull the plug on Allen personally. Feels like we just are doing him a favor instead of trying to improve the roster.

Yup he doesnt have much upside as a WR, he's shown he could be a serviceable KR but the rules have made KR obsolete, he's a pretty good gunner as well but I'm not sure thats enough to keep him around.

I really wish the NFL would adopt the way the XFL did their kickoffs instead of making rules that eliminate it all together, KR is and always has been one of the most exciting plays in football and the NFL is just fine with taking it out all together ☹️

I paid less attention to the training camp and preseason process this year than I have any year in the history of my Eagles fandom.  It's a total void of information at best and deliberate misinformation at worst.  Make your jokes about how I didn't know anything about football or the team in the first place, but I certainly do not know relatively less by completely skipping the camp/preseason news cycle.  It was a total waste.  But now that I have my summer travelling done, I will have an uninterrupted fall for real football.

Someone recently asked him if he was going to give up hurdling to focus on his NFL career, to which he said no. He has the right to choose but he's almost 29, so if that's his choice I don't see what the point is.

I'm honestly stunned the Eagles got a 5 for Reagor.

Yes, because I've been told that literally ANYONE is better than Siposs.  Well, anyone, except the guy the team just brought in to compete with him, and lost the competition.  Anyone... but with exceptions.

The new PS rules allow you to have prospect/developmental PS stashes and simple low upside insurance stashes.  That's Covey and Ward.  With Covey, I guess they plan to elevate him as PR and then promote him to the 53 once someone inevitably goes on IR.

Ward, as I have argued with many over the years, is not someone who would make a roster anywhere else in the NFL.  But at this point, he's got to be the longest tenured offensive player than anyone besides...who?  Kelce and Lane?  Goedert?  And I think they just like the guy and enjoy giving him a paycheck at this point.

Sorry dude....this became a Phillies blog while you were away.

Mann seems like he's be a slight upgrade to Siposs which still firmly satisfies my not Sipposs criteria.

He's just the Mann for the job.

That's the dad joke limit for you today.

And that is why other GMs aren't overly excited with Howie.  He's a pick pocket.  But, the key seems to be the timing.

Also, Dallas did save quite a bit of cap space by making that trade of Cooper, so that might be counted as a part of the compensation.

My criteria was that the new punter's name can only have one R.

Dallas picked up Cooper for 27 overall and Howie got Reagor for 21 overall.

They also got a 7th for him which is in part compensation of 2 different trades that landed Ojomo and Swift. Even if it's just Ojomo, Howie won the trade. But it was addition by subtraction in the 1st place. Though, Howie growing that draft stash from Carson Wentz and the number 6 pick in 2021 is legendary, these  other small trades after are also pretty awesome. Kind of breathtaking.

Equal holder, dominant place kicker on kickoffs and less shanks in key situations. And younger. I would take him anyway. Siposs has had 1 too many chances and needs to be exiled to CFL.

Cooper's trade was a cap move in part but it was also because he called Dak Kirk Cousins.  It was a cap move, in part, because of the deal they gave Elliott.

He's an offseason pick pocket.  If I'm a GM and Howie calls me in October offering a 3 or 4 for one of my washed up vets, I'm all ears.
