In what way is he a good CEO?   Part of being a good CEO would be to get the proper people in place around you.  He hasn't done that.   The DC is very good.  The OC seems unqualified to run the offense at St. Joe's Prep.

Penn State rankings by year (2022 to 2016)

8, 14, 11, 6, 17, 16, 16, 8.

That's good! Penn State grads don't want to hear this, but they're just not a program at the level of Ohio State, Georgia, Notre Dame, USC, etc.

It is good.  The bigger issue is that it could be better, because when they get to those big games, its not the Jimmys and Joes, its the Xs and the Os.

And once upon a time, PSU was a program at that level, and it could be again.  If they got a better coach, things could be different.

And please don't give me Notre Dame. .  What a fraud school they are.   Always exposed.

Not sure I agree with Penn Staters hating Franklin. I was at State College a couple years ago celebrating our national title. I was at McQueary's pub at the corner of Sandusky St. and Paterno Parkway. Fans there basically told me Franklin is like a god at that campus.

One of those programs don't belong on that list. (Notre Dame) And Penn State has been much better than USC for about a decade.

Unfortunately the moron outgoing AD they had a couple of years ago gave JF a huge extension for no reason. They are screwed unless they want to eat that money.

They have money to burn

He doesn’t even touch on the biggest issue: getting 53 young Americans to live in A foreign country against their will.

Does anyone believe Jalen Carter would be happy to move to England at 21 for potentially the next 15 years of his life? Did Caleb Williams become a generational QB just to be known as an expat?

If I was a prospect and this became a possibility, I’d do some stupid crime that isn’t a big deal in the US but would get my visa revoked in Europe. Because F that

If someone is paying you a lot of money per year, you'll do it.  If I could earn £1m a year by working for a few months in America, I'd do it.  As a man in his early 20s with no ties in life.  Why not?

Regardless, I'd think any team would be largely be US based for the operations piece, and be in the UK for the duration of the season.  I don't see it ever happening though because other than the Jags, who will move a franchise abroad?  You could say the Chargers perhaps, but still don't see it as it would be done after a sale. Other than Jim Radcliffe (who would rather buy Man U), don't see anyone over here wealthy enough to do it.

Ergo, wouldn't stress about it.

I still don't ... like you're speaking Japanese ... they would never do that. My skin is like ... like ... you're making me uncomfortable ... like ... like I don't know what you're talking about. No. No. Strong no ... like yeah ... no.

I take Cam Ward over Penix , Rattler  , Mccarthy too

One to keep an eye one with the trade deadline

Military people have been doing that for decades. And with a lot less pay..

They don’t have an option. Players aren’t getting a special bonus for living abroad

I think it would be an expansion franchise (or multiple)

the big point though isn’t that you’re getting an awesome contract unique to playing in London, it’s that you’re getting the same contract you would in LA, or Philly, or Seattle if you put up a bit of stink about not wanting to leave the country

Philly sports are now 0-2 when I attend one of their games after last night, so I did everyone a favor and sold my ticket to the Phillies game tonight

Budda Baker, Justin Simmons and Kevin Byard are all available. They each have one year left (2024) at about 14M. All three of those teams should be sellers.

We actually have some leverage in a trade.

I could see expansion teams going to Europe. Germany and England specifically. Between them they have enough major cities to support 8 teams, which would bring each division up to 5 like the pre expansion era.

I expected that.  Reported it last night.

I've done the maths on expansion before, and they'd need to go to multiple franchises to make the NFL parity between divisions continue. I don't see a fan base for 4 team (as example) in Europe, nor do I see a talent base for it either.  There are enough meh QBs in the NFL right now, adding 4 teams would make it worse.

32 teams works on many levels, and the NFL would be fools to tweak that to grab some $.  They'll regret it in the long term as the costs to setup will be massive.

As for taxation, the reason to keep the operations in the US would be to retain parity, or alternatively as my employer does, they set baseline FX each FY. for multi currency translations. There would be some taxation in the UK (as an example), but the NFL could negotiate that away quite easily vs the economic benefits.

There’s absolutely no reason that I should be excited about Julio Jones…but I kind of am

Boom. My bonus has a chance of happening now

No change, not surprised. I’m still not convinced Diamondbacks are doing anything impressive offensively. They stayed patient at the plate, that’s about it. And our BP blew it because no one could find the strike zone at all unless it was a meatball over the middle.

But yesterday was such a gut punch that’s hard to get over. Tonight is do or die.

The NFL is a novelty for a few games a year, but I'd never support a London franchise.   And many fans would be the same - our team preferences are set.  The NFL season is also at the same time as Football & Rugby - the NFL would be competing for eyes with established sports.

@mattwill 34-24 Eagles.  Julio Jones goes 4 catches for 65 yards, lol

Big difference from previous stints is Tennessee needed him as their #2. TB wanted him as their #3 but had so many injuries he ended up their #2 for most of the year.

He’s our #4 who’s filling in as the #3 while Quez is out. This is Randy Moss on the 2012 9ers. A big catch every couple of games, 400+ yards on the season and the move pays off. Keep expectations modest and it should all come together.
