Damn, a modernised look with that 60’s olive would be my favorite.

That was his initial reaction. I’m curious after having time to digest it like with the other people I saw if he’d still feel the same. I think all of us live blamed Edmunds too.

Based off the picture he was shown of it today

Ok, so Solak believes this is bracket coverage. Others think Edmunds has the TE. Solak thinks Cunningham has the TE and blitzes once he sees him staying in to block, leaving Edmunds to help Bradberry. That makes sense to me because it does seem like Cunningham is eyeing the TE and is a bit delayed in the blitz because he’s reading what the TE is doing.

Yup, the helmets are a little too bright, but still looked great, Nike can't make the shiny silver pants so the pants are grey but it still looked pretty good.

Brought back a lot of memories from my younger eagles watching days.

The uniforms look sweet AF, and are a big step up from other similar team efforts.  The whole brand is absolutely on point.

But the pedant in me looks at the colours and thinks.  They just don't match and Nike should have merch taken away from them if they can't do a colour match or shiny materials.

See above.

Don’t have PFF but Jalen Carter’s grade went up from before last night. Which means he had an outstanding game by their metrics because his grade was already really high

Smitty has 1 and maybe goedert, not sure AJ does though???

He does. Against Washington when he got flagged for taunting.

That would make sense, first thing I thought when seeing the screenshot, was looks like they're bracketing Hill to take away inside and hill just blows past it all together.

Would rather take my chances in the inside route than just letting hill run past everyone for a TD.

I think it’s funny how many months it took so Nike ’could get the color right’.. just for them to come up with another color.

Not that I care too much, I prefer midnight green anyways. That said, some military olive alternate would tempt me.

Bradberry plays this rep to take away the outside release.  He routes Hill to the inside because he assumes Edmunds has inside and over the top responsibility.  You can tell by Bradberry's reaction he knows Edmunds missed his assignment.  No way anyone can think Sydney Brown can cover enough ground to help on Hill there.

3rd and 8 so I’m guessing they wanted to take away inside so that hill doesn’t get a first down and continue the drive. obviously rather give up first then the td in hindsight situation.

that said the Eagles have to make a move at safety. The issue is a couple things. Blankenship is good when he plays. He’s not a problem. He just needs to stay on the field. Brown I think it’s fine for a rookie. But he’s going to have growing pains and you have a Super Bowl roster. There is no way to know if by the time you get to the playoffs if he’s going to be capable of doing everything you want him to do. He’s missed a lot of time. Add on that’s more games in a season as a rookie that he’s played in his entire career in high school or college. So he might begin to hit a wall. Add on your depth at safety is not very good. edmunds is just not good. We can defend them on certain ways or what not but it’s not good. And Justin Evans has the same problem he’s had since entering the league. The guy can’t stay healthy. I don’t want to rely on a guy who is unreliable to be out there every Sunday.

Presnap he takes a step in from 22 to 21. Ball is snapped his head and eyes are following hill the entire time. actually takes 3 walking steps towards hill on the play at/after the snap. Then sits sideways and realizes he’s gonna have to catch hill as bradberry isn’t gonna keep up with him. I would love to know if Bradberry thought he was gonna get help from edmunds. Bradberry is a good teammate he wouldn’t say it out loud if asked.

It wasn't the only play where Bradberry covered like that and Edmunds was late either,  there was another one earlier from further out, the exact same thing.  Honestly it's incredible to me this guy was ever a first round pick and if you look at old Steelers fan posts on Reddit and stuff you can see they all had the same conversations about the guy we do.

Eagles get back to the Superbowl.

What trade takes them over the top?

Not a trade, but I think Julio Jones was quite possibly a low-key very important signing.  Another veteran leader in the locker room, a talented guy that's been in the league for a while, and fantastic depth.

I don't like in-season trades.  Rarely if ever do they produce results.

The two brotherly shoves on that last drive were crazy.  They even lined up quick to do one of them.  I won't say that play is unstoppable, but I'm just not sure how stop it.

I heard the sports junkies / Jonathan Allen talk about it on 106.7 in DC, the insane suggestion was to have the DL lie on his back and try to push back the offensive lineman with his feat.   My man, if you really like having Jason Kelce stepping all 250+ pounds of his body weight on your junk, then go ahead and try that.

Think the play you are talking about was the second Wilson catch. The issue is Reed and brown are going to be good. Brown as a rookie is asking a lot especially late in the season when he might hit a wall. Their depth kind of sucks cause Evans hasn’t stayed healthy his nfl career and edmunds isn’t good. They have a SB window right now. I think it’s why you heard howie is looking at safety. I think you are fine if you have Reed and acquired safety with brown. Brown can still get snaps if you get a safety that can play safety and nickel.

meanwhile, the twitter is blowing the hell up over the bias officiating in our favor.

last night when dallas caught that screen and ran for the score i had a flash back of keith jackson run down the field

Did you enjoy the game in person as much as we enjoyed it via broadcast?  It must have been electric to be there.

About the same as any other regular season game really. It wasn't especially loud or crazy.

Desai is doing his thing with a depleted secondary in year 1. Give that man his props.

Wonder if the high def makes it appear slightly different

I think some of it is the lighting. Since it was a night game, the CRI of the led field lights could be a factor. Would need to see them in daylight to get a better idea.

How do we not need a safety? I don’t understand why you are so set on what they have there. It’s a glaring hole with Edmunds starting. Blankenship has missed a bunch of games the last 2 years. Brown is a rookie.

It’s the Eagles need a starting S so trade for one mentality.  I strongly believe that the Eagles are vested in Brown and Blankenship as starters.  I also suspect Blankenship is fully healthy after the bye.  So basically, when Evans is healthy (also likely after the bye), it is Edmunds that is being replaced.  Now Edmunds and Evans are on one year contracts.  So a S on the end of a rookie deal just adds to players needing replacement.  Howie needs to look at cost to value.

Neither @HazletonEagle nor I said S is fine.  But need is relative.  He mentioned LB, for example, where only Dean is signed at ILB next year.  Pretty big need and upgrading ILB is a reality.  He mentioned DE.  Look at Sweat’s reps.  Eagles have Sweat, Barnett and Graham.  Next year, Sweat but he needs an extension and let’s face it, Barnett is playing like he is damaged at this point.

As I see it, a #3 or #4 S is a lower priority.  (Note last night the Eagles basically shut down not only a league leading offense but an offense that has been putting up record book level production.  They did that with Edmunds, Brown, Ricks and Scott.). And don’t overlook that Howie brought back Scott, who can fill that somewhat at S if needed.   Not sure what the Eagles see in Garner or McCollum either at this point.  Garner got 4 snaps and McCollum didn’t when activated but the Eagles had enough faith in them as backups.  They may like the potential as a #3 or #4 S. Note Howie has basically nickel backs 3 and DBs 2 (potential at outside CB and S) on the PS.  Not all depth has to be on the 53.  At ILB, VanSumerin.  At DE, Tarron Jackson.  (BTW, at OLB, no PS and PJ will need an extension if he is the number 3 there).  Short term rentals near the trade deadline haven’t played out for the Eagles.  If they do a trade, I would prefer a future value.  We can talk comp picks, but I don’t see a lot of comp value in all the Eagles UFAs next year.
