When you say ‘OR’ do you mean he gets pancaked, but it’s to the edge angle of the field, so he’s technically held his contain on the play?

Im saying he always does one or the other. Sometimes both.

Apparently Opeta was pretty bad last week. I never focused specifically on him but others said that

Still haven’t gotten Henry+Autry for Penny+Barnett+5? Time to fire up the Madden…

Garcia walkoff. Misery loves company.

The run game has torpedoed since Jurgens went out. They need him back, but on the whole I think Opeta has been pretty solid.

I don’t understand why we’d shop Barnett.  He’s unexplosive and has zero upside, but is refined and can eat some quality snaps.  That was the rap on him when he was drafted, but I digress.

We need the aforementioned description more than anyone else.  The DT rotation may be great and Smith may be massive upside depth to Reddick, but we have nothing behind Sweat.  Bash Barnett the pick…but Barnett the backup RDE is a meaningful piece on this team.  I don’t see why we’d trade him.

Did you see the play where he knew the play was coming so he walked out to the TE in the slot and STILL got turned so the RB could reach the edge, dude is a BUM

I will never understand why this garbage team always gives us problems.

Prediction: Hurts continues his turnover struggles, one pick one fumble

It’s not only problems, but it’s circumstances that you don’t typically see in a game that you watch every Sunday. They’re very happenstance and it happens like 4-5 times. Goedert getting an uncalled facemask that led to a fumble that busted his shoulder up, Quez fumbling after a big completion, Graham getting called on a BS roughing call to end the game, a fumble falling forward in the end zone for a TD, Jobe dropping a pick that falls into his lap, a toe drag insane interception made by a DB that only an elite WR can make, Howell throwing the game-tying TD as time expires, etc. And all that happened in only the last two games they’ve played. They haven’t had one play or call go their way. It’s annoying at this point.

26-17 Birds

Chase Young 2 sacks, Scary Terry w/ a TD - closer than it should be as the team looks ahead to DAL and JD rests.

Not sure why the dbacks are even throwing to him. Garcia is on a bryce type of rampage right now. Seager and Carter hitting like they are in front of him makes it really hard to do what they did with the Phillies. Which is pitch around harper and schwarber. Can’t pitch around all 3. There’s not as many easy outs in that lineup and guys behind Garcia have been hitting and even knocking guys in.

I hope it’ll be a little more comfortable than that but I suspect it won’t be.

Eagles  33 Commanders 10.  Washington gives up two strip sacks for scores.

Lane has been struggling pretty hard (for him) since he came in because it always seems like Opeta is missing assignments and Lane is trying to bridge the gap. It seems like more often than not when pressure comes from the right side it's because Opeta did something wrong in protection.

Didn't watch the game.  Hell, when we fired up YouTubeTV I immediately hit mute (it plays a top suggestion for you in the background as the menu fires up).  Still salty.

Regarding Patrick Surtain. He's arguably a top 3 CB in the NFL. He's a stand up guy who grew up in and NFL family. I've never liked Jalen Ramsey's attitude and there's a reason he's been traded twice now despite his talent. The only reason Surtain is even on the block is because Denver is getting ready for a complete tear down and rebuild. Ramsey was dealt because teams didn't want him anymore.

For starters, Surtain will be turning 24 right around the draft so he's going to be the same age as some of the older players available during the draft.

-Currently, the Eagles should be in the 28-32 draft pick range. The draft value of 28 is 660, 32 is 590. We aren't talking about shipping off a valuable 1st round pick here like they had last year (1200 points). For comparison, they also hold pick 49 (Saints) and that value is 410.

So right off the bat, including this years 1st is a no brainer. If you could guarantee you're getting a top 3 All-Pro CB at the bottom of the 1st, you do it 10 out of 10 times.

This team is built to compete for at least the next 2 years so let's assume that the 2025 1st is in the same range. Again, you're not getting a player close to the caliber of Surtain with that pick either.

I'm 100% on board with giving up this years 1st and next years 1st to get Patrick Surtain here. I also think Howie won't have to pay that because well, he's Howie, and he's terrific at blockbuster trades. I think you look at a guy like Kelee Ringo who could be a part of the trade package.

Where the Eagles run in to trouble is salary. If Surtain comes in, he just adds one more player who's going to need a top salary at the earliest after next year. At the same time, after next year, Slay and Bradberry can come off the books. I THINK, but not positive, both could be post June 1 trades.

I'd be looking at an offer of 2024 1st, 2024 2nd (NO), Kelee Ringo and their 2025 5th for Surtain and a 2023 5th.

Patrick Surtain IS worth 2 1sts + Ringo, but not to us. We just don't have the cap space to immediately extend him as we already paid Bradberry/Slay for 2024.

We already made our big "trade 1st + 3rd" move for AJ Brown AND we gave Hurts a big money deal. You can't keep doing that.

I don’t see it for many reasons including the fact that 2 1’s from us wouldn’t even be enough.

Denver should wait until after the season to trade Surtain, if they trade him at all.  Will have more teams with picks in the teens more willing to trade and the offers can be more creative including players. Most teams willing to trade now are playoff teams so picks aren't high and they won't want to trade any of their good players in season.

It’s appears Mialiata is having a down year for himself also.

He is literally the highest rated left tackle in football right now.

What a bizarre comment. Jordan’s been amazing this year

Some people judge players by their worst plays out of a game and a season. Especially true of CBs.  I think we're all guilty of that to an extent during the game but after the fact you should gain perspective.  ie. Slay doesn't suck if he gets beat on one play
