Ah yes, now we have plenty of space for Hicks, Hunter and whoever their slot corner currently is.

So did it cost them or not because you are not even sure

Mahomes has 8 INT as well, he Fing sucks

I’d point out in the two losses the chiefs have, mahomes has 4 turnovers. Which is basically half of the turnovers he has this year. The other game where they nearly lost to the jets he had 2 (his other multi turnover game of the year). If you turn the ball over at that rate eventually it’s gonna bite you in the ass. Mahomes had that issue in 2021 where he had 13 ints and lost 4 fumbles (9 fumbles in total). It eventually got the chiefs in the afc title game. I’d be impressed if the eagles managed to a Super Bowl having a takeaway/giveaway that’s negative. I’m actually curious to know who was the last team that managed to do it.

So I had the Birds splitting the games with the Cowgirls - I originally had them winning at home losing away.

I still see them splitting- I dont believe we will win both- it's divisional, and the Cowgirls are a good team and the Birds will NOT win both.

That being said, if they will split: Would you rather we WIN at home aned Lose on the road this year, which means win this week and lose later... or would you rather they win the second game away after losing this one?

Win at home, mainly because the home game is first. If we get a win now, it gives us a bit more breathing room, and puts a little more pressure on them. Plus, we haven’t beaten Dallas on the road since 2017, and I don’t think we’ve beaten Dallas on the road the same year they were a playoff team since 2007. I just don’t like our chances down there.

Problem with Young is that it'll be easy for teams to outbid us.  All our picks are projected to be late and if the rumors about Young and Chicago are legit, they could match our offer and beat us on the strength of the picks alone.

He's an awesome player but I don't want to get caught in a bidding war for him.  I'd rather see a move for Hunter Renfrow or maybe even something for another OL.

Yeah i don’t think either are happening tbh. I think the most obtainable is likely Hunter. I think price on burns is going to be ridiculously high still. And young and sweat if your offer is the same as an out of division opponent I’m guessing the eagles aren’t winning that negotiation especially if they are offering their own picks cause they are all at the end of the rounds

Thoughts:

  1. The Eagles played two DBs (Ricks and Brown) that started learning the slot just a few weeks ago.
  2. Byard basically had two practices and a walkthrough in the week he has been here.
  3. Blankenship is coming back from injury that has slowed him a bit.
  4. Haven’t watched the All22 yet but I am confident it will show the coverages were basic and mostly common zones.
  5. It takes some time to adjust in the secondary.  So overall, the play was good enough.  The overreaction is unbelievable and misplaced.
  6. Hopefully Carter is okay and Davis is getting better.  Just one game away from the bye.
  7. I hate the prevent defense.  No excuse for that late TD.  Play the D you have played all game.
  8. Wasteam has some good offensive weapons and the refs weren’t calling holding yesterday.
  9. 7-1 with the turnovers is pretty damn good.
  10. Steen was doing mostly double blocks with Kelce.  Still, I expect him to be available soon.
  11. The Eagles should have scored 52 yesterday.  Settled for 38.  Pretty damn good.
  12. Hurts and Brown are on fire.  I think I have to give back my Bonus win @mattwill because it seems like saying Brown will have 125 is almost like saying Kelce will block extremely well all game.
  13. Finally seeing throws to Gainwell. He is being attacked too much.

  14. Howie will make calls and evaluate any player that might help this team.  It’s his job and that is why there is always "interest” by the Eagles.

Too many snaps for Sweat, Reddick and Cox - we have a solution at DT, Howie should find us another starter type (60% of snaps) via trade if BG/Nolan are going to be relegated.

Nolan Smith should be getting more than 4 snaps per game surely? Was this their plan when they drafted him ?

The main reason I'm calling it a trap game is the fact that the game was in between the Dolphin kelly green national game and the heated Cowboys game.  The other items with the Wash situation, the matchups, etc. added to it and made it that much harder.  I could go with "semi-trap" that became a full issue due to the other Wash specific items.

Bottom line is that I don't think we were ready to play.  The bad loss Wash had against NY is part of it as well.

I think the mix and match in the secondary with the addition of Byard mid-stream and the disruptions at CB played a role in that.   That and basically losing Davis and Carter, at least from playing effectively also hurt them defensively.   I don't believe for a second they were looking past them.  I do believe they were looking past the Jets.  But, given they had just gone to OT against the exact same opponent, I don't know how they could look past them.

With Reddick/Sweat play 80%+ that really caps his involvement - he’s not a base end.

Playing Sydney Brown in the slot yesterday didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. He's not a quick twitch safety. He's a vertical speed safety who can probably also excel deep in space, but having him cover guys in short spaces seemed like a bad idea and he got burned a couple times.

Thanks... we missed him when he got hurt.  We had 2 whole sacks.

Umm, nah.  Byron Pringle has a free go to the end zone and inexplicably turns his head toward the sideline and runs 4-5 strides at an outside angle.  The throw was perfect; the route was atrocious.

Has Nolan Smith been good? No.

Should Nolan Smith be playing more? Yes. You get better with reps and we need to conserve Reddick/

This week against Dallas though is not the week to do it. Use our best players before the bye. If we beat Dallas, we're likely winning the division going away.

They have been slow in bringing along most rookies, so that's not surprising... though that might be slower than they had anticipated with him.   I'm not giving up on him, but I think its safe to say that as of right now, they are disappointed in his play.

I don't think the plan is to play Reddick and Sweat that much, but they don't trust Smith... and frankly, I doubt they really trust Barnett a ton either.  Graham is a guy I think they trust, but I think he might be at the end of the line.

The play he was injured on was very early in the game, which would explain why he was invisible for nearly all of it.  Once he was hurt, even when he was in there, he wasn't effective.

Agreed on all points - that’s why I’d be interested in another proven DE to lighten the load.

We agree on the end, but they have the Eagles defense figured out and/or match up well against them. Nobody can watch that game and how much trouble they give them and not see that.

Of course.  Washington plays tough against us, and prepares well.  Yet, we beat them twice this season.  We've beat them the last 5 out of 6 games.  People think they give other teams a blueprint for beating us, yet we're the only 7-1 team and last year had the #1 seed and made the Super Bowl so how's that working out?

We make concessions for other teams with injury or new players and make excuses but are harder on our own team.  Carter and Davis were out, they change the game if they play.  Dean is still learning as a first time starter, Sidney Brown is a rookie learning who also already had injury.  Byard didn't even practice this week, travelled to Philly for 1 walkthrough in shorts and then traveled to an away game.  Let's see how he does after a week of actual practice and learning the playbook, then after the bye with more time.

The intentional grounding counts as a penalty, not as a sack, but it was basically a sack... Reddick again, I believe.

There is no tone towards Hurts. There is towards people being so butthurt over anything at all being said about Hurts that he needs to fix something. Again, we can be lucky to have him and be pissed about turnovers at the same time. I'm pretty sure Hurts himself would say I've played well but I need to fix that crap. Nick would as well.

My approach is to ignore them ... with the one exception being RTK, although he has been much more balanced of late.

Dallas is an entirely different team away from the fast track in Dallas.  Statistics reflect a drastic change when it comes to natural grass vs. artificial surfaces.

They know that.  Theyre going to come after Hurts because they know they cant stop our running game.  They dont want to get bludgeoned to death for 60 minutes.

We absolutely have to have a few tricky blitz beaters, and I hope that includes some Max Protect flavor deep balls to AJ.  We wont get away with throwing a bunch of quick passes outside the numbers.

On defense, if Carter and Davis are active Im very optimistic.  We actually match up well with them this year because they don't have a power running game. Theyre one dimensional
