Half of the RZ stats are terrible QB draws drawn up by Johnson. That is now nixed with Hurts knee issue. Problem solved. Ha. The other part is Julio Jones having that connection there with Hurts in the slot. We will see more of that and the read option. On Dee the talent is there. Need familiarity, repetitions and health to come together. By after the bye week we will see this defense in much better shape.  Versus the Chiefs! 🤞 Bottom line, to be 7-1 with all the adversity and an almost Lane Johnson injury....gotta be very thankful!!

You joke, but Hurts seemed like a better passer when his running ability was limited. He had his best game of the season so far, and I think this is the version a lot wanted to see from him this season (minus the fumbles/turnovers).

I know the Swift is injury prone thing is always going to be there because of his Detroit days, but he's been fine here. I also think Boston Scott is more than capable if they would just give him the ball once in a while.

But I'd be all in on adding a RB.

I'm all for preserving these guys as much as possible for the end of the year.

Howell did have the game of his career, now if you were a betting man, would you bet on him ever throwing that accurately again?

I mean, we made that bet yesterday after he was great in week 4 and he did it again.

Oh believe me, I hate almost all the other rules that favor the offense. Just not this one. To me, it will never logically make sense to have such a huge swing in enforcement when attempting to penalize a player for extending the ball for a first down when it's 3rd and 10 from the 11 yard line, compared to when he does it a yard further. I think it's only a matter of time before the rule gets updated in some fashion. I think part of the reason it hasn't so far is because of how rare it is. I'd be okay if the offense retains possession but gets moved back to the 20 yd line, or defense wins possession, but at the spot of the fumble, or some other possible compromise. But as it stands now, it's far too rewarding for a defense that doesn't actually gain possession of the ball in the field of play.

No worries.  If the offense doesn't like it... don't fumble it in the first place.  Problem solved.

If they are gonna trade for a running back i wonder with herbert coming off IR soon and Johnson back from his concussion if foreman would be on the block by the bears.

That would've certainly saved us from some frustration yesterday. Would've been 52 points on the board, if I recall correctly.

I actually bet on mclaurin on the over yards, receptions and anytime td cause he repeatedly does it against us. Commanders seem to just play their best on offense against us every year

The Penny situation is one of the more baffling things in recent years. He's not hurt because he played in preseason and isn't on IR. I don't buy that they're "saving him" for the post-season. If we trade for a RB would have to imagine Penny goes with the pick.

Exactly what I said last night. However, I kinda feel they shouldnt play him vs Dallas. Even though I want him to, and even though he probably can. I want to minimize his chance of re-aggravating it and let him have the extra time with the bye week coming.

This game is all hands on deck

I don't think they need to trade for one with Suh out there and their depth....unless he's done for the year. If it was that bad I double he'd be walking around without issues. Anyone who has hurt their back knows just taking a step hurts like a you know what.

Carter just needs to call up Deshawn for some good massage places!!

I get that notion. But I dont think so.

Its very important. But its not a playoff game.

We are very lucky his situation is a day to day thing. You can easily make it a multi-week thing where he ends up missing Chiefs, Bills, 49ers. Suddenly whether we won this Dallas game wont matter as much anymore.

Get healthy for the very difficult stretch.

Nor do I. He's not a horrible pass catcher either so not sure what's going on. Can't be because he mad a mistake blocking. Just like people fumble you can't put them in purgatory forever because of a mistake.

Oh good, they talked to him and he knows. Did they also tell him to to stop sucking?

I brought his name up yesterday. I see no reason why the Bears need to hold onto Foreman.

The Eagles are overly loyal to guys they have an affinity for, it's really that simple. It's pure stubbornness and ego. There is no reason for Gainwell to still be playing or for Barnett to even be on the roster. Their affinity for them has blinded them of reason.

I think the bigger question is if they like Gainwell and Scott so much, why did they even sign Penny in the first place? They clearly don't think that highly of him or they'd use him.

With all that said, I suspect everyone's rushing production will improve once the line starts run blocking better. That's the main issue right now.

2023 Eagles passing defense:

Passing TDs: 30th

Passing yards: 27th

INTS: 31st

Passing 1st downs: 32nd

2014 (Bradley Fletcher & Cary Williams)

Passing TDs: 29th:

Passing yards: 30th

INTS: 22nd

Passing 1st downs: 28th

I'm not sure everyone recognizes how bad the pass defense is.

thats bad. But a lot of it has to do with this

I concur. Guess it depends on how he's feeling really. Could do a limited snap type thing and if he's not feeling great you pull him.

I wouldn’t get too cute with it.  To me it comes down to a simple question. If playing puts him at risk of making the injury worse, then you don’t play him.  If it is just a matter of some discomfort that he can manage, then he is playing.

He's quietly had a very good season. Seems last year he was having false starts or holding penalties every game. I can't think of a game where he's gotten dusted like he did last year either.

If there's 3 hours during an entire week where a player doesn't need to be on their phone, surely game time on Sunday would be it.  Hopefully, the conversation actually went "if I see you on your phone when you're supposed to be working again, you'll be inactive"

a back injury never seems to be discomfort that you can play through. Sometimes they feel like that and yet, one little tweak, next thing you know its debilitating pain.
