Can we not treat minorities as pawns and just let them get hired because they are good coaches? It's ridiculous how that works. The Eagles have been front runners in minority hires, not just on the coaching staff but across the front office. THEY are opening the doors for minorities.

Howie noticed.  The Eagles DC, OC and STC qualify.

True. We would have had to pay a 3 otherwise.

I think I read somewhere that because those picks weren't ours: 5th is the higher of Buccs or Vikings pick and the 6th is Titans own pick - they are more valuable as will be higher up in those rounds than Eagles picks based on standings. The equivalent value was of a low 3rd Rd or high 4th Rd - cant quite remember but was higher than I expected it to be.

So Calcaterra, with his history of concussions, suffers a concussion and we immediately work out a TE. Feels like an IR stint is imminent.

Dear lord, if that's not getting flexed nothing is. Would much rather see 49ers/Jags, Browns/Ravens or Lions/Chargers. Hell, even NYG/Cowboys is better.

Finally a Monday where I won’t be dragging my ass into the office.

Why did we trade for that Albert guy?

Weird NFL regulation states that the Eagles have to have a guy on the roster that the fan base yearns to see on the field.  Strangely this year they have 2 with Penny and Albert O.  They needed to double up this year because Sermon only spent part of the season in that role last year.  The league noticed and it was either trade for Albert O. or forfeit a higher pick.  Howie made the right choice.

Given Young’s injury issues and frankly his play this year, I would argue Sweat is the better player at this point.

Sweat is definitely the better nfl player at this point.

If Calc goes IR or is out then you probably want a guy on PS in case of another injury.  That's why the tryout

On 4th and 8 (the second straight drop by McLaurin), it looks like Bradberry is pissed that Ricks jumped an underneath route and left McLaurin wide open.

We desperately need some continuity in the back 7. Playing Brown as the nickel on run downs and Ricks on pass downs seems like a great idea on paper, but with our musical chairs, it’s might be leading to some of the coverage busts

Totally agree.  It's been a revolving door on many levels.  Hopefully Byard, Reed, Slay, Bradberry & Roby can play together for a few games in a row. Somehow it seems like one of those years where it won't happen much but I hope

Had a little pop last season as a reserve but he’s getting way too many Carrie’s when we have a pro-bowl -esque RB on the roster.

He's had 4, 7, 2, 8 and 2 carries with 11 targets total in the last 5 games.

It's not like he's getting that many touches to begin with.  If he has any less you might as well not play him and cut him.

I'd love to know the situation with Penny.   Is he still hurt?  Is he not ready or doesn't know the offense?

Sooner or later Swift will get banged up and miss games.

Kind of feel like an ass living in AZ rooting against the Diamondbacks since everyone here is pulling for them, but F it. Burn everything down after that NLCS.

Eagles 28

Cowboys 21

Swift over 100 yards rushing

@mattwill

@mattwill

Eagles 35, Turds 27.  Eagles D always turns it up a notch at home

Bonus — DeVonta Smith leads Eagles in receiving yards

@mattwill  Cowboys 24 Eagles 18

BONUS: Cowboys convert on a 3rd (or 4th) and 12 or longer.

How about grabbing Tyree Jackson back off the Giants practice squad?  Of course, we haven't seen A Ok yet, and he has the 2nd best career stats of all the Eagles TEs.

Even if I thought the Cowboys were going to beat the Eagles I could never bring myself to pick them

Agreed. There are a group of fans that like to make negative comments or predictions so they can say I told you so as a consolation prize to the team not winning

Some do it for the reverse juju effect as well.

I always hated this guy. Great hire.

More than that he was a WR in college converting to TE in NFL. Sounds like the same type of skill-set as well

He’s getting Carries in key moments near the red zone. 2 fumbled lost this season his his limited touches. He can come in when Swift needs a break.

Swift has 2x as many touches and half the fumbles. He’s averaging almost 2 yards more per carry and 1.5 more yards per touch than Gainwell. 706 yards total for Swift to 280 for Gainwell. 29 first downs to Gainwell’s 8. Even Boston Scott in his minuscule role has averaged over  5 ypc on just 8 touches.
