The Eagles have yet to play a full game. At best, they've played B- football. They are DUE. There always seems to be a game that we think is going to be close and the Eagles just dominate from the opening snap. I think this could be one of those games.

Eagles 38

Cowboys 17

Brittain Covey- PR TD

Defense- 3 TO

With no more Dan Snyder, look at this. If Sam Howell is the real deal for them, you wonder if they make a splash trade to get him a WR1 a la Marvin Harrison Jr...sorry, Masssaraaatttiii Marv.

I doubt Howell is the "real deal", but he's definitely proven to be better than serviceable.  He's basically an asian Kurt Cuzins.

It wasn't a weird scene though. It was at the end of the press conference, he had already been there for ten minutes giving answers to other questions, he's already said that he's not talking about the knee, and the journalist who asked the question knew he most likely wasn't going to get an answer and laughed at the end when he got up and said "Was worth a shot". It was a playful, joking exchange.

Ok, well it's weird to me, don't know what to tell you. I've seen tons of his PC's, never saw him get up and leave without acknowledging a question.

If my initial post was taken as I was implying this is a huge deal, that wasn't my intent. Maybe "unusual" would be a better word.

Like Sielski said, "the idea that nobody cares about an injury to the Eagles franchise QB is ridiculous." The national media is also going to care. He has the right to do and answer how he chooses, but the questions are going to come regardless. Especially when he's been vague and sorta talking about it but also not saying other things about it.

Is that the proper welcome for a Dallass fan?

I welcome all fans of all stripes here, especially if they contribute interesting football insight.  I'm inclined to let the eagles play on the field speak for itself.

One interesting wrinkle about Sunday's game is that it is the first "even strength" and/or meaningful game between the teams in a while.  Last year's second game was the Minshew game, and the first game was the Cooper Rush game.  In 2021 the second game was the meaningless Week18 game, and the first game was only Nick's third game.  2020 was lost season.  So the last meaningful game between the Boys and the Birds is back in 2019.

The reason I mention all of the above is that Nick and the coaches and the players may all see this as a "statement game"

I tend to agree - you can't have it both ways.  You can't have AJ and Sirianni talking about how tough he is and how much of a warrior he is, but when pressed as to WHY he is those things, get pissy about it.

I think you are putting too much weight on the PCs.  I've yet to hear anything remotely note worthy in his PCs.

I don't feel I'm putting too much weight on it.  But to say they are pointless and nothing comes out of it, I disagree with.  He and the coordinators discuss their play calling approach, culture, leadership qualities of players, admit mistakes such as Siri saying he would do things differently.  One example is he admitted he should play the starters more in preseason.  He's explained his thought process in situational play calling.

I was a Howell fan when he was at UNC. Not surprised to see him play well. Surprised to see him dominate the Eagles like he did. I think he's going to be the QB that many thought Baker Mayfield was going to turn in to. Get the feeling he will be a pain in the butt for years to come. He won't take them to the SB, but I see them giving the Eagles trouble.

He got pissy? More like you just did.

I wouldn’t consider it a big deal, but it was not playful and joking.

It was very matter of fact.

That's how I interpreted it. Hurts immediately broke eye contact with him to shake his head and walk away. Sielski sounds like he gave a nervous laugh because he realizes he probably pissed him off.

I never said the flipped a table and stormed off. He was asked a question, didn't give an answer and got up and left. It's a weird scene, IMO. I said he "walked off because he was asked a question about his knee" which he did.

I understand he doesn't want to talk about it. I understand Nick doesn't want him to talk about it. He's still going to be asked about it since he was limping all over the field Sunday. And he's now a $250M QB. The questions are never going to stop.

Zach Berman has jokingly asked the same injury question to Siri and Hurts in every PC the last couple weeks.  He jokes saying "I gotta ask" or "I gotta be the one to ask this" and he gets the same answer every time.  As an isolated clip it shows he smirked and walked off.  But knowing the history, that he's answered the same questions in multiple press conferences in the last few weeks, then Zach asks about it yet again, that's why he smirked and walked off.  It was playful.

I don't even know why they make the players and coaches do a press conference almost every day.  They should be practicing and preparing for the next game.

Wasn't making any point.  He noted our picks were similar to Washington's, so I posted ours to see what they are.

It is interesting that only 2 of them are their own, the rest are from trades and comp picks.  I think they are in good shape with picks, and Howie will make further trades to move around as usual.

Thanks for that clarification.  I agree with you 100%.

BTW, are you likely to join in on the game score predictions this week?

Nothing much about the whole situation makes much sense. There's no real competitive advantage to make it clear to the media the injury did not happen during the Miami game but when asked when it did, it's an off limits question.

Anyway, all this got more discussion than it should. Just thought it was interesting since we were just talking about how boring Nick's PC's are and something that's somewhat interesting immediately happened after.

I think he feels he's answered the question repeatedly.  Done with the question.  Could also be an inside thing with he and the reporter- he had a wry smile as he stood up.  Maybe it's a joke between them.

He wasn't "pissy."  He's been asked the same question every day for 2 weeks and the reporters are playfully asking the question again and again, and he smirked and left as it was the last question.  you guys are making it bigger than it was.

Bradley Roby can't come back soon enough

Brown should be sub linebacker in a nickel package taking the 2nd LB (not Dean) off of the field in passing situations. Putting Ricks at Slot w/ Slay, Bradbury, Ghost, and Byard. He’d be a really good cover 3 low Safety mixing it up with TEs, runs, and routes within 10-12 yards of the LOS.

My bad.  I didn't make out the voice of who asked it this time.   Zach asked it the other day when he said "I guess it's my turn to ask" or something like that.  They all know he gives the same answer, and they've been joking and playful with Hurts and Siri over 2 weeks about injury questions.

Hurts should have gone straight Belichick with the "On to Dallas" repetition

"Press conferences are pointless and nothing ever comes out of them."

After a Hurts press conference:  3 pages dissecting it and jumping to conclusions that something is wrong, it's "weird" and Hurts is "pissy."
