I feel differently about Bradberry than Slay. Slay has only struggled with Washington, particularly McLaurin. For whatever reason (likely speed), Terry just has his number. Slay has been good otherwise this season. He played Jefferson very tough. He took care of Evans for the most part. He didn't get got by Kupp or Nacua (that was the game our slot CBs got destroyed). Slay had the Cedric Wilson mishap vs. Miami, but otherwise was good. Slay is not the issue.

Bradberry though, woof. He's this close to 5 INTs this year, but has also given up 5 TDs. He needs the most safety help, but our slot CB is so bad we can't do that. It's rough.

Bradberry seems constantly out of position, but I realize that may be my lack of understanding as to what the hell he is supposed to be doing.  But seems to always be chasing people several steps off?

I think we are going to like Josh Harris owning the Commanders.

If they have BB and those draft picks he will parlay that into like 37 picks

Yes.  And how do we like Michael Johnson practically owning the 76ers?

What’s Les’ solution?

He wants to play Bradberry on the inside which I disagree with but his other comment was spot on

I’m not saying Bradberry is terrible, just putting that out there before people think I’m suggesting he gets cut.

But isn’t this basically the M.O. of his career? He feels like a player that will have a solid to great year, and then down a year. And then bounce back to a good year and then will be average again. Feels like he’s been that way with the Panthers and Giants, and kinda feels that way now with the Eagles.

They put together a good 2nd half of the 1st period.  But, Flyers are a bottom half of the league team.  Hart injured early in the game as well.  Nonetheless, hockey is awesome and I love watching the Flyers.

Love me some hockey. I just want to give a crap about the Flyers.  Was so excited when we got Hart but alas does not seem to be destined for the pantheon of really great goalies.

I still think it is the BEST and most different game live from on tv, even in the high def generation.  Like a whole different game live.

Baseball perhaps because of the nostalgia. Smells, sounds, yada yada.

I with you on Bradberry I like his matchup outside against Gallop particularly. Did Slay follow Justin Jefferson around, ie would he follow Ceedee in this matchup…

One of the podcasts brought this up the other day. Might have been solak and sheil.

Not sure. I think we need to get a stable secondary for a few games before we start drawing conclusions.  Too much shifting and injuries

I'm not on the side of just sticking Ricks on Lamb.

It’s going to be a process for them. Gauthier comes up next year, then Michkov. Just have to start building a foundation now.

So you want Josiah Scott

No sir. Why can't we have Slay shadow him most of the game. This is why Howie should've tried harder to find another slot corner. I like Roby but no one in the league wanted him then he plays and immediately gets hurt.

They will use Lamb the same way MIN used Jefferson in week two when he went off. Slay doesn’t usually trail, at least I don’t think he did with Jefferson in week 2.

We actually still had Maddox at that point.

It would be awesome if the team could stop putting themselves in a position to be down by double digits in the first place. It's like when people brag about 4th quarter comebacks

You're not always going to be up in every game.  Greatness is to be able to face adversity when and overcome it.  There's a reason Brady has the most 4th quarter comebacks of Amy QB in history.

Slay is better than Gallup, and can handle Cooks.

This is a game I don't want the CBs playing sides. Slay on Cooks, Bradberry on Gallup and Ricks on Lamb with S help. Dallas can't run the ball, and frankly, we should WANT them to run the ball. Every Dallas run in the first half of the game is a gift.

If we play sides at CB, Dallas is sticking Cooks a LWR and just having him run go routes.

It's not that easy, you can't just flip all your CBs to shadow or dynamic assignments week to week and still maintain alignments and run fits. One CB, maybe you can get away with it with some tinkering, but for all of them it just isn't feasible. It's a fundamental change to your scheme that has to be designed in from the start.

The Eagles have some organizational schematic/philosophy memory that has spanned multiple coaches and coordinators.  I can't give you much in the way of stats or direct evidence, but I am certain this is a tactic we have often seen with DC's here when dealing with holes, specifically in the secondary.

Take the inexperienced weak link.  Give him one consistent, defined, but difficult assignment against the best weapon on the other team with MAXIMUM help in double coverage.  And ask your experienced horses to shut it down on islands against lesser players.

That can be a tough look for a QB.  They are still staring down the barrel of double coverage for their #1 target and they are getting tight coverage on JAGs from top CBs.
