You're not always going to be up in every game.  Greatness is to be able to face adversity when and overcome it.  There's a reason Brady has the most 4th quarter comebacks of Amy QB in history.

To be down double digits in 6 straight games is not something to be proud of, no matter how you spin it

You've completely misinterpreted the stat.  It's not that he's been down double digits in 6 straight games, it's that the last 6 times he has been down double digits in a game he has come back to win.

You're reading the stat wrong. We haven't been down by double digits in 6 straight games (obviously we know this isn't the case this year.) It's that in the game where we are down by double digits, we have won those games 6 times in a row.

He would definitely do well in this day and age

I'd argue we need more Bobby Knights in todays day and age.

It's not that easy, you can't just flip all your CBs to shadow or dynamic assignments week to week and still maintain alignments and run fits. One CB, maybe you can get away with with some tinkering, but for all of them it just isn't feasible. It's a fundamental change to your scheme that has to be designed in from the start.

It's a balance that is tough to appreciate (and tough for coaches too).

If each DB just owns one part of the field, then you are begging the offense to dictate matchups to their advantage.  (I don't mean cover-2 zone necessarily, this could also include man coverage just picking up whatever WR is sent to your side of the field).  And if every DB just shadows specific receivers in man coverage, then the offense is literally drag and dropping your best players wherever they want to put them.  Like you said, it's a change to the scheme and the opposing offensive coordinator is making the changes.

Scheme is a buzz word that we often through around but seldom ponder its exact meaning.  That's what scheme is for the secondary (IMO).  It's a balance.  It's not "cover 2 vs man vs cover 1."  These guys all run everything.  It's how often you run it and which concessions you are willing to make to the offense.

There's no rules against doing all of these things.  People just notice what coverage you were in when the WR gets a 60 yard TD and they assume that's what you did all night.

Then it's a really weirdly specific stat, also like 4th quarter comebacks.

Either way, I don't see it as impressive. If you're down by double digits (which could be just 10) in the first quarter and then win the game that's not impressive.

Yes, most stats like this are stupid.

Nothing good about the GOAT coming the division, especially if Harris hires a GM and has BB just coach.

The most dangerous thing in the NFL is a stubborn, arrogant, legendary coach trying to win with the same "I can do it all myself I'm smarter than anyone else" blueprint that worked in either a different generation or level.

That's not a graveyard; its a mass burial.

Then this begging occurs on 90% of snaps in the modern day NFL. Very few DCs will ask a CB to shadow a WR and when they do, it's often situational or mixed in, not for the entire game. This is why examples of CBs doing this now are so hard to come by. It's far more rare than most people think for the aforementioned reasons.

Touche

BB will be 72 when next season starts. Starting over with a new franchise in need of rebuilding is crazy

Rangers winning this series down their second best hitter makes it more embarrassing for the dbacks. No reason they shouldn’t have at least gotten this past 5 games down Garcia.

Never understood why some on the losing team just sit there and watch the winning team celebrate.

Dolphins win the kickoff. Dolphins drive the length of the field and score. Dolphins then kickoff to the colts. Colts Kick Returner fumbles the kick and Dolphins have the ball deep in Colts territory. They score an easy TD.  14-0.

Shanahan is 3-31 when trailing by 3+ points and 0-38 when down 8+ going into the 4th quarter. Do you want to be trailing in a game? Obviously not. But it’s a good quality to have to be able to come back from it. You’re not going to cruise every game. I still think last season spoiled this fan base where everyone just expects them to beat the piss out of teams like they did for the most part last year. That was the outlier, not the norm. Teams adjust, you lose coaches, you battle injuries. They haven’t looked perfect this year, but they fight.
