Cunningham theoretically as the Mike in cover two would be effective to run the seam and use his long arms to change the passing angle. The problem is he decides to two-hand jam the player with all his might and misses so badly it would have been an automatic conversion. We saw it twice in these clips. Fran mentioned on his show that this happened like four times. I mean, what are we doing here? If he connects, it’s good. If he misses, he just ruined the entire structure of the defense. Seems pretty dumb on 3rd and 14 and 4th and 8, especially when the receiver is running straight at you vertically and not horizontally.

They just need to get those LBs off the field on 3rd/4th and long.  Morrow is at least close to his guy most of the time.  I would roll with him if I had to choose one.

Yep. That’s exactly my point. If you want to have two LBs on the field (in terms of assignment, not what they’re called on the roster), have Brown be the second LB with Morrow. We know Brown is willing to be physical and play downhill if it’s a run, and he has a chance to cover a tight end.

For sure. A late throw gives Blankenship time to jump the route. Anything early or midway through the route is a clear win for Ferguson. Seems like Prescott should come off Lamb as soon as Byard runs with him, but for whatever reason he works to the backside quickly. In Prescott’s defense, it’s 1-on-1 and probably sees it as pitch and catch, but the throw got away from him and gave Bradberry the opportunity to get a little more physical as the receiver had to adjust.

I think QBs reading from outside to the middle is very difficult and risky.  Ive heard QBs say that its easy to miss guys and thats when they throw it right at defenders.  It was probably safer in his mind to get the ball out and as you said, he knew it was 1 on 1.

Yup no reason to have 2 LBs who can't cover in  on 3rd-13 or 4th and 10.

Just take one of those LBs out and replace em with a safety.

Yeah. We already have a nickel that’s being hunted. No reason to put another two weak coverage players out there to be hunted as well.

I don’t think Bryant is going to do much of anything, but I think one nice catch every 3 weeks with a couple irrelevant ones is about all we are going to get out of Julio Jones.

Don't recall but did Dallas pick up the pace so that the Eagles couldn't substitute?

I mean, that’s all you’re going to get out of any 30 something WR struggling to make a roster. You sign them for experience and maybe the size/hands they still have in specific situations.

Yeah, I've seen a few of his videos over the years and enjoyed the ones that I've seen.

He does a good weekly NFC East round table that’s usually worth a chuckle

Does John Madden count?

IMO…more important than replacing Goedert at TE will be replacing the #3 pass target in this offense and a frequent check down for Hurts.  That replacement may not be a TE…probably won’t be.

To a certain extent, it will be a group effort with everyone trying to step up.  I do think Julio Jones will be the first to get a chance with an uptick in targets.  I have concerns about how dynamic he can be at this point…but a HOF wr finding the fountain of youth for 4 games may be a better shot than asking OZ to be someone he isn’t, than asking Calcattera/Stoll to be receiving weapons, or than expecting Watkins to turn it around.

I guess it depends on criteria.  Madden and Michael Oher are the only other possibilities.  I’d argue over half the people who know who John Madden is don’t even know he was an OL.  Coaching got him the announcing job and the announcing job got him the video game, which made him famous.  So I think he doesn’t count.

Oher got famous off an inspirational story, but no one really knows or recognizes the actual player.

Kelce is aided by the family situation and 1 degree of Taylor Swift separation, but it’s still centered on him actively being an NFL OL.
