    Yes.  They are basically taking some random  regular season games throughout the first part of the season and labeling them "in season tournament" games.

    It's stupid.

    I hate everything about this stupid "in season Tournament" that started like a week after the actual season started.

    Tonight's Bears/Panthers game could be an all-time dumpster fire and I'm here for it.

    Smart from a marketing perspective.

    The rest of the world bases their view of sports on soccer, and in soccer you have a domestic "league” competition, a domestic "cup” competition (basically this tournament), and then a continental "cup” competition.

    The NBA will try to mimic this and then eventually sell new TV rights to their version of a domestic cup.

    These TNF games man.  1-7 Panthers vs the 2-7 Bears, what a snooze fest.

    This is why they need to go with an extra bye before TNF, and then play doubleheader TNF games on the same night sometimes.  Bury this one with a 6PM start, and have the real matchup start at 8:20.

    well, they have to find a way to get you interested in these early season games.

    Now, all that's left is to figure out how to make the first 46 minutes of an NBA game something other than a waste of time.
