Look I think it’s an interesting debate to be had. I just think everyone has Mahomes as the clear and obvious MVP and I don’t think it is. Hurts is right there with him and in my opinion above him. Hurts team has a better record right now despite an inferior defense to the Chiefs.

On the flipside of that though this is probably the beat defense that Mahomes has had meanwhile the worst defense that Hurts has had.

The top qbs this year are all pretty close stats wise. But they also play each other. So if Hurts balls out against Mahomes and Allen, then I would think he's going to win it. 

Also, while digging up those stats, do we think Dallas Goedert will ever put together a full season? There's no denying his talent and what he means to the team but I still don't know where he sits on the TE rankings list. Is he destined to be a TE that averages 560 yards per season? His 830 yards in 2021 are still 32 yards short of Travis Kelce's worst statistical season with 862 yards and they have nearly identical salaries. TK also doesn't miss games. Maybe I've overlooked how good TK is because he annoys me.

I think the reality is there aren't a lot of top TE in the NFL right now. You have TK then George Kittle and then a big clump of TE which includes Goedert, Mark Andrews, Hunter Henry, Cole Kmet, Evan Engram, TJ Hockenson. Sam LaPorta is next in line and will probably be in tier above those guys sooner than later.

If I'm the Eagles, I'm looking at Pat Freiermuth as a trade target this offseason. He's been injured this year but the Steelers have Connor Heyward and Darnell Washington. He's also going in to the last year of his rookie deal so the Steelers have to figure out if they want to pay him or play the younger guys.

Im kinda feelign like Cooper DeJean is the guy for this secondary. Though there may be better CBs out there, his inside, outside, safety versatility is just what we seem to need right now. 

We have that colts player coming in next year as the nickel. DeJean could start as an outside CB, but give us flexibility to move him wherever the depth is needed, or be used differently in different personnel groupings.

The problem is we don't remove Kelce from the equation. He is a hall of famer and is that good. His security blanket when things break down. And is essentially a WR in addition to being a TE. Did you see what Mahomes looked like with no Kelce vs. Detroit or no offensive line in 2020 Superbowl? He was a mess. Sacked and picked off a bunch and playing hero ball. This Chiefs team is nothing like the Tyreek Hill years on offense. But with just Kelce & Co. they don't  need to be, with a solid defense and special teams, you are still going to be able to win games. With usually a speedy anonymous but decent complementary group of WRs, which is backed up behind an amazing play caller in Andy Reid. Feels similar to when Brady had only Gronk or Edelman at end of Patriots career, but still made it work with great defense, special teams and good offensive line. But  Brady became less invincible once losing certain playmakers or loss of a good lineman. These guys are in some ways put on too high of a pedestal. Still a team game here. After saying all of that, Mahomes is amazing, but not having a great or consistent year as of now. Plenty of turnovers and forcing the issue at times to make a play. Mahomes/Hurts may become like the Embiid/Jokic race every year and pretty divided. I do think if you had Hurts playing with the KC personelle on offense, backed up by Andy Reid play design, he would be just as good from a production standpoint, but just do it differently. He would make plenty of plays, as he is a straight up playmaker.

Well, she is a hero.  Imagine, your spouse  gets a week off and goes to Chicago to do some broadcast but also some tourism (see the Weiner Circle tweet) and you stay home with three young kids.  Really think my wife would have insisted on some "me” time.  I deliberately did not watch the Halloween episode of New Heights in front of my wife when Jason was surrendering candy begrudgingly and she threw the piece at him (although the throw had Young/Bagent accuracy for those of you that watched any of the game last night.)
