Over/under 1.5 sacks for Carter?

I'm going with Over.

Baby Rhino gets his first 2-sack game

Under.

Is anyone else cautiously (probably naively) optimistic that Blankenship/Brown could actually be a solid Safety tandem?  I'm consistently impressed with Reed's ability to be in the right place at the right time, and I love Brown's athleticism and physicality. Still need to see him actually play the position but the guy hits like a truck.

The LBs on the other hand...💩

Morrow is gonna probably wear the green dot. I think with Desai's scheme and having multiple coverages there should be the element of unpredictability here and could be to the Eagles advantage. Vikings injuries on Oline are an issue which kinda neutralizes our injury issues on dee. Think the dee will step up and be fine here at home. Could actually be upgrades with some of replacements with Morrow, Edmunds and Brown. And Bucs beat the Vikings in Minnesota. Wut??? Not as worried as many here.

I like Reed and think he is legit.  Sydney Brown not able to elevate himself over the two bums Evans ans Edmunds is worrisome though.

It's only been a game...but I still think he's best as a 3rd safety at this point on a SB caliber team.

D-Line needs to feast, and helpful that the Vikings O-Line is banged up. I hope they let Brown take over, as opposed to going Evans and Edmunds. I'm actually weirdly confident in Jobe playing.

We need 6 inactives with Siposs and Covey being elevated (not counting McKee, who will be the 3rd QB). Steen ad Albert O will not dress, and I'm thinking if Cox plays then Ojomo is inactive. Means both Ricks and Goodrich can dress. If Cox is out, Ojomo dresses in his place. Either way, Ricks and Goodrich should be active.

All the Injury Report plyers who are Out count as Inactives.

Howie didn't let him walk, they offered him  a fair market value contract more than he got with the lions he turned it down asked for top safety money, howie said good luck, once CJ realized he grossly overrated his value the market had dried up the money howie had tabbed for CJ he used on bradberry and so CJ settled for a below market deal with the lions.

Howie gladly would have had CJ back on what he signed for in DET but CJ got a big head.

@mattwill

Short week and the injury luck of last year has disappeared for the D.  Best LB on IR, best S out, starting CB out and starting RB out.  Long season and that is the right decisions here in the second game.  Should be noted our #3 CB is on IR for the season but Jobe was at least neck and neck with him this preseason.  That helps Minnesota but not if the DL plays like it can.  Better weather so not expecting the turf to be an issue.  But Hurts may need to really produce on offense.  Good news as this RB group really looks pretty equal.  Expect Scott, Swift and Penney to all get carries and Scott and Swift to get receptions. At home in decent weather, Johnson opens up the offense.  I imagine that both Ricks and Goodrich are active and one takes Jobe’s place as gunner.  I really hope Brown is the starter at S so Edmunds can take some LB snaps. Not as close as the score because Cousin pads his stats in garbage time as Nick rests some starters.

Eagles 41, Cousins 27

Bonus: Goedert TD

Don't think he ever truly wanted him back that badly. If he did he'd be back. Howie doesn't let guys he values walk because of "Sorry, your money got allocated elsewhere" unless they get grossly overpaid by another team. Which CJ didn't.

And I don't even think the allocated money is a good excuse. Howie is a planner. Dude plans years and many moves ahead. Right now the Eagles are among the top NFL teams in cap room. They won't be starting next offseason, but they are right this very minute. CJ's 6.5m guaranteed would have been easily fit in the Eagles cap. They were never that strapped.

If Howie wanted him that badly, he'd be here. The Eagles make sure guys they highly value who are young get locked up unless they get highly overpaid.

Would be the 2nd most pts scored in a TNF game I think. Rams/9ers had a shootout our SB year I think.

It's going to be funny when Boston Scott is the work horse RB1 tomorrow

This wouldn’t surprise me. The whole world expects Swift to handle the workload so they’ll probably try to outsmart everyone. Scott will probably start the first series at the least.

The RB rotation feels like it’s going to be strange this year. I don’t think they’re going to let anyone be the clear cut starter.

Cousins is going to have to get the ball out quickly

Just saw their center is out

"A new low"?

Every single team is going to get the ball out quickly against us because it limits our strength on D and is a great way to attack our glaring weakness. I suspect the Vikings might try to take their shot here and there with Addison deep, but it's going to likely be more out in 2 seconds attack the middle.

Not sure if you're talking about Reed but he played great against the Pats, 11 tackles a PBU he was all over the place, one play he came flying down from his 2 deep spot and went flying past Dean like Dean was standing still to make the tackle

Reed has great instincts and game speed, even the TD he got beat on he was in position may have got a finger on it but it was just a better throw to a guy that had about 4 inches on him.

Evans played like trash, he was totally clueless in coverage all game and did nothing in coverage

I think  going forward should be Reed and Sydney, no reason to waste snaps  other than limited rotational snaps, on guys like Evans and Edmunds who have clearly hit their ceilings

Well, he's definitely no Dawkins.  He's ok though.

that's on him and his agent , howie had to make alot of decisions on other positions and they were holding up for the big money , he never got.

A.J. at Safety huh? He played some S at his summer camp rec league back in 2004. Outside of the box thinking, I like it.

Takes two 2 tango, if CJ wanted to be here he would, he played games which Howie doesn't and CJ lost

I'm ok with it, I think Sydney will be better, eventually.hopeFly sooner than later

How long was RR booted for

Gotcha hopefully you think that short term, asi think long term he's a starting Safety In the league, not just a 3rd, preferably he's a starter sooner than later, Sydney may make some rookie mistakes but if Evans is making rookie mistakes might as well play the rookie who has more upside.

I don't think Howie wanted him back and I think CJ felt like he got spurned and didn't want to be back. But I think Howie not wanting him back is what caused CJ to want to look elsewhere.

But I think ultimately in this league players take the money. If Howie offered him 7.5m guaranteed to top Detroit's 6.5m he'd probably be here. We'll see if that decision was right during the season.
