EMB Blog: 2023 Regular Season thru Week 9 - NO POLITICS

Even with the Eagles injuries I think they’re still better on both sides of the ball. Where it matters. QB and the lines. The Vikings had a negative point differential last year, I’m not sure how good they are. I think they can score, but I’ll be more concerned about this game if the offense has another bad game because that likely means Hurts doesn’t play well and if he doesn’t the thought of a regression year will start to creep in.

Concerned about reed and bradberry not starting. Its a chance for other players to show us what they can do.

The more i think about it the more i think the vikings will win

Big game for hurts and the offense. Need to step up massively.

@mattwill

38-14 Eagles

Deep ball to Brown for a td.

No way a garbage Vikings team is coming into Philly and winning a night game.

They just lost to Baker Mayfield

@mattwill

Eagles 24

Vikings 17

Bonus- Sydney Brown with a pick

I like Reed and think he is legit.  Sydney Brown not able to elevate himself over the two bums Evans ans Edmunds is worrisome though.

No it’s not, because he likely already did.  I think the only reason he didn’t start day 1 was the experience factor.

How many of us thought, at this same time last year, that we would be this concerned about Blankenship missing time in week two next season?  Probably no one.

Everyone is so concerned about our secondary issues with JJ coming to town.

Does anyone else think the Vikings might be concerned coming into the Link with a banged up oline to face Baby Rhino and company?

We should maul the interior of their offensive line.  The Vikings should maul the middle of our defense.  Our offense is going to need to keep the ball and convert drives to TDs for the Eagles to win.

Just like that, Week 2 and a chance to be the first team to 2-0.  The nitpicking, overanalyzing and even crying about Winning a Bad Weather Road Game are over.   On to the next challenge.   It's not an Eagles Super Bowl Run without playing the Vikings.   The Eagles played the Vikings in 1980 Season, 2004 Seasons, 2017 Season and last year's 2022 Season.   Those were all "W".   With that said, The Eagles and Vikings are tied 15-15 All Time in the Series dating back 50 years ago.  So this is the tie-breaker game.  Short week for both teams.  The Birds are coming off a scrappy win on Tom Brady Day.   The Vikings are coming off a tough home loss to Baker's Bucs (Who we play next week).  I have a feeling, The Eagles Offense explodes this game.   I think Minny has a pretty good Offense but their Defense has holes.   The Birds do have one trump card.  Like Daniel Jones, Kurt Cousins is horrific in Primetime games.  I don't think that changes today.    I believe the Birds will win handily in a repeat of last year Week 2.

BIRDS - 34

VIKINGS - 17

JALEN - Rush TD

AJ - TD

GOEDERT  - TD

DEVONTA - TD

JAKE - 2x FG

DEFENSE: INT, Multiple Sacks

I wish I had confidence in the playcallers. I think they'll be fine by mid season, but they're both still new. Flores is so experienced, that he has a major advantage vs. Brian Johnson.

For the Eagles to win, we're going to need to win with light boxes and man coverage. Man coverage reduces coverage busts and split safeties protects the LBs, especially at the seams. If Darrisaw is out, then this becomes easier.

Folks... bad news.   The Phillies are off tonight.   But, I suppose we will find something to discuss.

In other news... tonight should be a Kelly Green game.  Home Opener bringing it back, National TV audience, which might actually spur on a few more sales...  AND, guaranteed to take the fans to a fever pitch, even higher than just the first home game of the year.

Is this a Kelly Green game? Has it been announced what colours they are wearing yet?

Boy, Clinton Portis sure looks like the victim here. Good thing the guy in the Ray Lewis jersey got charged with 2nd degree assault. I'm sure there's more to the story but shouldn't the headline at least mention Portis was charged with SOMETHING? There are some who are going to think his behavior is acceptable and if he didn't get charged that they could do that too.

Then you have dude in the McLaurin jersey casually pushing a woman to the ground and another Terry supporter kicking her while she's down.

But let's only mention the guy getting his face smashed in go charged.

Oh and Eagles fans are the worst amiright?

1 sarcastic comment. I thought football fans over here were the drunk hooligans.... Been years since I've seen a punch thrown at a football game over here but that seems to be a regular thing over there :fishing:

But... Props to the man that walked by with his beer and ignored the whole thing.  Has his priorities in life right.

@mattwill  Eagles 30 Vikings 26- bonus prediction: Graham with a strip sack

The 1st Kelly Green game is against the Dolphins for Sunday Night Football, and the 2nd one is against the Bills.

I think they are wearing their "midnight green" jerseys with white pants tonight.

The Eagles tend to wear white jerseys earlier in the season when the weather is hottest, and then go darker with the jersey colour later in the season when things cool down.

It's why I don't take my kids to games anymore. It's the alcohol, because at college games, it's not like this. People can't control themselves and have no ability to moderate how much they drink. Kinda scary how these people all get home too. I have a feeling the vast majority aren't getting ubers.

Agree.  I don't understand why people drink so much that they likely won't remember much of the game that they paid good money to go to. Never got it.  Enjoy the day and get a good buzz on as you wish. But, sloppy drunkenness.  Nah

Can't Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai ever get along?.

Haven't felt this bad about the outcome of a game heading into the game since the 2021 season. The spread has been dropping all week now to 6 points but still seems way too high.

Only chance we have is for the offense to wake up from its hibernation and just go off all game to give the defense the chance to kill a few drives with their pass rush before Kirk amd that passing offense eat up this secondary and linebackers.

34-27 Vikings

Goedert gets a TD.

Get club level seats, brah.  It's normally the poors that are doing all the fighting.  Club level is better seats, nicer bathrooms, shorter or no lines for bathroom or concessions, and no drunken antics!

Good luck with that.  Ineffective against Mayfield and the Bucs, who have their own issues.  I don’t think the Vikings OL can hold up against the Eagles pass rush.  Blitz the Eagles and play single high S.  Eagles and Hurts can run on the blitz.  I expect a lot better game at home with the OL.

I want to see tonight some improvements

1)Run game - blocking and executing

2) Passing game - Blocking/winning routes (seems like we struggled against the Pats most of the game with Targets not getting open, Blocking upfront and missing/not seeing wide open targets, and Hurts being under pressure at times- even Lane gave up some pressures

3) Defense- less blown coverages - specifically bunch reciever sets- the Pats killed us with the bunch WR sets. multiple times we had guys totally uncovered while two defenders were running with one.
