Stop it. Siposs stinks. They literally cut him.  You want to frame it into this genius move rather than a guy who choked in the SB following it up with a bad camp. If virtually any team cut their punter today the Eagles would jump on that guy.

I am not a fan of not trying to upgrade Sisposs by any stretch of the imagination.  Choked against Tampa in the season before last?  Absolutely.  But I also have serious doubts he was fully healthy in the Super Bowl so declaring that a choke might be unfair and it wasn’t him that couldn’t tackle.

I think P is an obvious elevation.  PR, not so much. Hear me out.  Covey has been dealing with a hammy and it isn’t clear he is 100% yet or not.  Quite possible they elevate someone else in another role and roll the dice with OZ as PR.  STs don’t really get assembled until after the 53 so we really have no idea who received practice in the PR role since the close of TC when the Beats got cut off, as though they were reporting much on STs.  That said, at least two of the Beats reported favorably on OZ catching punts in TC.   Not saying this will happen, but what happens isn’t a given.  Heck, if Quez is having any residual effect from his hammy, they might even raise Ward and use him because he has shown to be a better WR than Covey.  The hammy and missed snaps may have not only impacted PR but likely also arrested Covey’s development at WR for lack of reps.

Another reason why Covey may not be activated against the Patriots is that you may not necessarily want to start the three week window clock at the exact same time on two different guys. The rent would be due twice in week four, so to speak. You’d have to clear two roster spots that week. Staggering the clocks might give you improved roster flexibility down the line. They might activate Ward instead just because of that and hope that he can actually come up and catch punts before they hit the ground.

I spent about a half hour in bed last night while trying to fall asleep just thinking about who’s going to dress in week one. That thought kind of emerged during the process.

I interesting stat in the section on the Eagles:

"Bold prediction for 2023: The Eagles will rank in the top 10 in designed pass rate. They ranked 22nd in the category last season but move up to 12th if we look only at plays run when a game's win probability is between 15% and 85%. In other words, the Eagles want to pass; they just were winning by too much too often last year. This is relevant for Hurts and the Eagles' pass-catchers in fantasy. -- Walder"

I can’t wait to finally stop talking about some dumb punter the team clearly has no interest in

Well he followed it up with being bad enough this preseason that they didn't feel the need to roster him.  He was only saved by the fact that Zetner was wrose

Eagles watched Tiawan Mullen practice once and decided they had enough. Harsh

Been sending all picks to @TorontoEagle

They’re a lot like us last year. Good, 9 win team that made the playoffs based on a up and coming QB and a developing passing game. Then they went out and got a top 10 caliber WR (Id take Ridley over Lamb, Mclaurin, or Metcalf). Added more to their Oline and have been relatively healthy this offseason. Everyone should be ready to roll.

Jacksonville plays 10 games against the NFC South and AFC South. It’s not improbable at all that they go 9-1 or 8-2 in those games. Then they just need a 4-3ish record in their other 7 games and bam, #1 seed.

I like the sound of a Doug - Nick Super Bowl … especially when it is one year after an Andy - Nick Super Bowl

I wouldn't hope for that, because Pederson gave Andy the blueprint to beat the Eagles.

Excellent analysis.  I was sure someone would pick up on my 🎣

Not me. Doug is one of the top HC’s I wouldn’t want to face in the SB.

I used to think you were an intelligent poster, but thanks to your punter obsession

If we're in the SB, I'll be happy, regardless of whom we play.

Lane is an underrated off the field Eagle

I think it is interesting that despite what @FranklinFldEBUpper has uncovered in his research, the eagles seem very interested in challenging Siposs for his job. They brought in Zentner, and worked out others.

Siposs didnt even make the 53. Theyll be elevating him off the practice squad, presumably as long as they can before they have to sign him (or someone else) for the rest of the season.

Anyone who is pissed at other posters for not backing down to Franklin's analysis is ignoring the blatantly obvious position the team has taken on their own punter situation.

Right they have a weak spot that they failed to upgrade. It's obvious.  Listen it happens. Not every move works out.  But I have no idea why a few are so defensive about it. It's weird

I personally am not pissed at anyone.  Everyone has a right to their opinion.  However, when a poster starts to channel Douglas704 and bludgeon anyone who doesn’t share their spiritual beliefs about Siposs being Lucifer incarnate, then … like RTK … they go on Ignore. I’m not pissed at them, they are simply a waste of my time.  With that said, I’m sure some posters have me on Ignore.  And that is "fair enough”

Maybe most people are just sick of a boring punter discussion.

I think its awesome how the team has no punt returner, or punter on the roster. Working within the rules to be able to activate one on game day, while not taking up a roster spot. Its nice to be able to keep actual position players instead of mediocre at best specialists.

Hopefully both positions will be upgraded by the time they cant elevate those guys anymore. We will just have to wait and see.

yup.   there are a bunch that I like.  I generally like the running QBs.  Put KJ Jefferson and other running QBs in there. There are a lot of QBs,  running and non running, this year.
