I'm in the minority, but I don't find the Damar Hamlin stuff interesting at all.  Wonderful story of the training staff saving his life -- but from a football perspective he's a backup player (assuming Hyde and Poyer are both back; Rapp might be in front of him on the depth chart as well).

Bills 57, Jets 3 ...... sorry, the game is in New York.  Bills 34, Jets 9.

The story is as played out as Colorado beating TCU. He's a backup safety who may have only made the team based on optics alone. How would the Bills look if they cut him right now?

Pretty surprised they didn't make a trade for safety or LB the last couple weeks. Howie's had a pretty great offseason, but if either of those positions come back to bite the Eagles this season, he deserves criticism for neglecting them to such a degree.

I’m not surprised at all.  Player development becomes hard to do if you don’t let your young players develop.

Hope Mailata isn't missing multiple tackles

Oh boy, my train of thought was going faster than typing.

I think there are missed tackles from the S and LB positions AND I think Mailata has a few penalties.

Cunningham, Evans, Edmunds aren’t that young. This is a Super Bowl or bust year where you expect to see Howie to go all in. The younger guys can still learn behind proven starters.

So, if you study TBI.  Do people freeze like this in post concussion syndrome?  I've known a few people (younger) that had this, but most of their issues were related to things like memory.  It was nothing like this.

For McConnell, I have to wonder how often he freezes like this.  If he's done it twice in front of cameras, he's absolutely done it dozens of times not in front of cameras.  He might not even be realizing that he's doing it.

When it is a memory issue like your friends the pause is very real, but you can often see by the person’s eyes that someone is "home”. McConnell has looked like nobody was home both times.

Not funny even in jest.  Not appropriate either.

He looked like someone who perhaps spiritually, left the plain temporarily.  Similar to players who have suffered a bad concussion where the system eventually reboots itself, but it's a primal thing

Eagles would have signed a Punter by today if they planned on moving on. Looks like it’s going to be @NCiggles boy Aaryn

Not gonna say what he said is appropriate. However, anything can happen when one gets pushed over the edge. For example, this is how bullies can be taught sometimes. And can learn a hard lesson of how things can turn out. That goes on plenty here, with people acting all brave in this anonymous format. When one is willing to dish it out, they better expect something in return.

Seems like it's a whole of commitment for a single person without much to gain for it. So unless someone steps up, I'm guessing no.

@LeanMeanGM did it last season.  He hasn’t indicated one way or the other what his plans are for this season.

Using a cartoon to poke fun at someone warrants being told to kill yourself?

I didn't say anything about cutting Hamlin; Hyde and Poyer are both 11-year vets and missed significant time recently with injuries.  It's quite possible, though, that Hamlin gets only ST snaps while they're both healthy.  I don't have a bunch of interest in watching Hamlin running down the field covering a punt of kickoff, unless he becomes a ST ace.

I’m holding out until week 8

Clearly. I said that's not appropriate. But that is instigation and harassing someone. Just don't do it. And we are good.

Do you want me to cover weeks 1-7?

Don't think the Eagles should lose this game, they're significantly more talented. That said, it's a road game, it's week 1 where teams are fired up because it's a new year when everyone believes in themselves to start, and it's Brady day. They'll probably get their best effort. I think the Eagles will win barring it being a "weird game" where some fluky turnovers happen or the special teams completely craps the bed or something. Like giving up a PR for a TD or get a blocked punt for a TD. Or the Eagles go 0 for in the red zone.

That's hilarious. Never saw that or knew Eli did SNL.

I know, I was just adding that because based on reports, he's just not that good. I think unless he completely crapped the bed, the Bills had a spot on the roster for him. He's a liability in coverage.

Pro Football Focus graded Mann as their fourth-best punter in 2022. He was 21st in average net yards per punt with 41.0 and 12th in average hangtime at 4.35 seconds.

How did PFF rank him as fourth best punter ?

PFF graded Gillikin tied for 15th and O’Donnell 27th last year. Gillikin was 14th in average net yards per punt and 22nd in average hangtime. O’Donnell ranked 29th and 32nd, respectively. Wadman, meanwhile, has not logged a regular season NFL punt since 2019.

Siposs graded 32nd out of 34 punters last season. He was 27th in average net yards per punt and 25th in average hangtime.

It is just a matter of time, Mann or Gilliken take the reins here. It will take literally one Siposs dud at the wrong time and it's over. He's on a short leash here. If he plays. It's almost unfair for him at this point. That's why Eagles shouldn't play with fire here and just move on. But Howie is gonna stick to his plan that will allow most roster flexibility as possible.

Good. I don't want to face Kelce by any means  but that would be a really **** way to start the year.  The guy is fun to watch (if you're not playing against him at least).
