Swift was the hot hand. You keep feeding the hot hand. Swift got damn near 0 touches in Week 1 so he was fresh enough to do that. Avg roughly 15 touches a game now.

You go with what works and, to quote Herm Edwards, you play to win the game.  So on the field, you do whatever it takes to win that game.  Forget the 30,000' view.  But...no one wants what it takes to win the game to be 31 touches to a RB not under contract next year and a bunch of runs with Hurts. 

We don't want that to be our best option.  On Thursday, it was.  The GM spends the offseason and the coaches spend the off days trying to design better options.  Sometimes, that's just how it goes.  If it's like that every week, then the offense needs to be re-evaluated.

True... just the way things fell made it an option. Swift no work Week 1. Plenty of time to rest before Week 3. If there was any game we would lean on a RB like that this one was in the perfect spot. I would want to think they planned it that way but that would be giving them too much credit lol.

Wait, what prompted you to say he looks washed up?  Granted, I didn't watch much of the preseason, but to me it looks like he's been caught in a numbers game at running back.  I don't know that there's enough touches go to around between Swift, Gainwell, Scott, and Penny.

Bryant Kobach is probably a pure PS pick up with Scott in the protocol.  Need a scout team RB.  He was literally used up in college.  Older than Swift and Gainwell.  Suspect he will churn on through.
