This is not a political statement, but Shawn Hochuli is terrible at his job.

More importantly... he needs to work on his guns.  :nonono: Embarrassing.

Yup they have a lot of homeless, part of it is the weather, it's warm all year around, I mean even in the winter the lowest it gets is like 50 degrees. But most days it's 65 and above.

Having said that I think the bigger problem is not the homeless but why the US and the world has so many homeless

The US has more empty houses than it has homeless, the US is richest country in the history of the world yet 5 people in the US have more wealth than the bottom half of the whole US population, wealth inequality is higher than it was before the depression etc etc...

I'm dangerously approaching political talk if I haven't already so I'll stop and agree that yes there are al ot of homeless people in Cali which is the 5th biggest economy In the world which to me is a shocking stat.

Having said that Im still lost as to why Trent Williams didn't get ejected

There isn’t really a correlation with CA being the 5th largest economy in the world and the homeless issue. Sure, Silicon Valley/SF and Los Angeles are major GDP drivers. But it’s always been a haves/have nots issue. That’s not a California issue, it’s more of an American issue. And that’s where the politics of everything comes in.

Every single major city seems to be worse off from an optics standpoint than it was 5-10 years ago. It’s not only San Francisco, but other cities like Chicago, Philly, Baltimore, etc. The homeless issue in Phoenix and the surrounding areas have gotten worse as well.

Just because you are blind or oblivious doesn't change the fact that city has turned to literal crap before we even start talking about the crime. If you can't see how it's changed since just 10 years ago then there is no point continuing this conversation.

Didn't t say it hasn't changed saying it's no different  than other big cities in the US and around the world.

Homelessness and poverty and crime rates in big cities around the world have all increased.

SF and LA are easy to point out because of the circumstances those cities are in, being they are warm climate cities, and are close to boarders of refugee countries and they are big thriving economies with big city problems.

If I were a homeless person Cali would be ideal spot, not because of their lax shoplifting laws but because I won't freeze to death sleeping outside.

It's one of the same reasons Hawaii's homeless population has exploded , warm weather, ocean full of food.

It's easy to look at SF LA and say they're s

Crap holes because they have so many homeless people, the harder question and answer is why?

I get you.

At the same time, having worked in a lot of different cities over the past two decades, certain things stand out.  When I was working there the homeless population was bad, but everything I've seen and heard from friends that liver there, it's gotten nuts.  Same thing with Denver.  I worked there all of 2004 and most of 2006, moved there in 2009 and lived there till 2016.  After they legalized it (and Colorado being first), there was a MASSIVE influx of homeless there that led to a surge in crime, especially in my neighborhood which was right by the shelter.  It feels like San Fran is experiencing the same with their "don't prosecute shoplifters" stance.... its a bit of legislation that caused serious problems with increased crime, especially with the homeless.

Some of the reports I have heard (but never taken the time to verify the accuracy of) have said that California has 50% of the homeless population in the United States.  The reason for the high number of homeless is pretty simple ... the weather.  If you are going to sleep outside you really don't want to freeze your ass off.  The incredibly high cost of housing throughout the state contributes its fair share to the high numbers as well.

Some of the best dim sum and peking duck I've ever had was in San Fran.  There was also a asian-cuban fusion restaurant I went to 2 decades ago that I can't remember the name of that was amazing.  No idea if they are still around.

Oh, if you are in Marin and want a good sammich, I use to love Sol Food.  I only bring that up because I'm hungry for a proper Cubano.

Ace Wasabi in the Marina for Sushi....the Flying Kamikaze Roll was fantastic!!

Guys no one cares where you'd like to live and not. Believe it or not people have different priorities in life. Some people want good sashimi, easy access to butt-stuff, and to smell each other's farts about driving electric cars. Some people want to double fist handguns while riding an ATV in the back woods while drunk off their cousin "Cooter's" pine-cone moonshine. Different strokes.

Except Ohio. F Ohio (it knows that it did)

You got caught on the speed cameras too?

Saw the Seattle punter is averaging over 55 yards so far this season. Imagine that !

is that because he’s not punted much or because he’s a punt god?

So I'm from SLC Utah and while Utah is a bit bigger than it used to be it's still not very diverse, I didn't see a real life black person til I was like 8 years old and I was like in awe, like oh my lucky stars ... after in got married we moved to SF and it was the first time I had lived in a big city, we lived in a suburb outside the city but I worked in the city in the streets for a charitable group for a bit And it was an eye opener for me as far as big city life, I stick out like a sire thumb, just so many people and they're all so busy, lots of homeless people, lots of tourists all the time and as Iv e gotten older and been to other big cities in the US And outside I've noticed they're all pretty much the same, lots of busy people doing lots of things some honest some not

I like Kansas life, it's slower, less people, still same amount of shady people % wise but it's not as in your face as in a big city like SF or big cities In Europe.

Anyway end of tangent.

I don’t really think Wichita is "Kansas life” as I would define it. It’s city life.  Aircraft manufacturing and healthcare.  Not a lot of rural in Wichita.  I would suggest that Kansas life is probably more like Elk City (where my Kansas relatives are) or Hazleton (KS).  (I thank @HazletonEagle for my even recognizing I was driving through it. Kansas has some of the best soil in the nation.  Wheatbelt.  The cattle spreads in the Flint Hills.

But that’s the thing.  States tend to be diverse, you just have to look for it.  Get down to southern Utah and there are the Utes and the upper part of the Navajo nation.  Also a whole lot of nowhere out of the tourist areas in Utah.  Hard to get to because there aren’t much in the way of roads.

Heck,  San Francisco is quite different from Alameda or the vegetable farms on the southern part of the peninsula and way different from the Central Valley, the south coast, the Mojave or the redwood forests.

We love to lump people and areas together.  The Castro is different than the Haight, which is different than the Financial District, Beacon Hill, the Presidio or the piers.  We can split that with Philly too if you want or any big city and even a lot of small towns.  I think it’s safer to say, there are jackasses everywhere.

Again, there aren't many major cities out there that are doing better off today than they were 10 years ago. The hot click issues are always "San Francisco feces on the street!" and "Chicago gun crime!" which are certainly issues, but Mississippi, West Virginia, Louisiana, and Arkansas are the most impoverished states in the country. So it goes both ways.

Who is Brooks in your TE assessment?

My vote is for Mann and Allen.

My bad, I keep thinking Albert Brooks every time I think about Albert O for some absurd misfire in my aging brain.  Can’t explain it.  Must be because they could be twins.  It’s must be that they have the same hair cut.

Allen is an interesting idea.  Similar size to Watkins and certainly has speed.

They don’t need Johnson with Reddick, PJ and Smith available.  The elevation only makes sense for need.

They have been doing walk throughs on Thursdays.

That's why I said for just ST's purposes only. I suppose it could be Ward too with Watkins banged up and Covey not being a real WR.

And they only had 1 normal Thursday practice this year so far, before Week 1 and it wasn't a walkthrough. The normal schedule last year was:

Wednesday: Lighter practice, good handful of Vets wouldn't even practice

Thursday: Practice

Friday: Walkthrough

Saturday : Travel

The Panthers are 0-2. They have no 1st rounder in 2024 and no 2nd rounder in 2025. They do have 60M in 2024 cap space, but that doesn't include Brian Burns. If they're not going to extend Chinn, they should absolutely trade him. The only plus for keeping Chinn is they have zero incentive to tank.

Tanking for them would still make sense.  Getting a bunch of picks for #1 or #2 would accelerate their rebuild.
