Phillies getting hot late in the season. Should make for exciting NL playoffs.

Never shied away from being a Braves-Eagles fan here.

I see the Braves and Phillies meeting again this postseason. And it really is a toss up. Both teams did better on the road. Comes down to pitching matchups I suppose.

Braves have been playing down to teams lately. Marlins and Nationals of late. Don't know what to think of this team. Statistically historic on offense. But shaky in a 7 game series.

F yourself, Braves fan

Week 3 Is Here and the Birds are on another Prime Time Game.  This time on Monday Night Football Vs the New Look Bucs.   So let's get the bad news out of the way.  Sirianni and Jalen are 0-2 against the Bucs.  But those were Brady's Bucs.  During Jalen's Historic run these last two years.  He's only lost 3 games.   Two of them were in the Playoffs.  One of those games was to the Bucs.   Well a lot has changed since that day in Tampa.   I'm also sure Jalen remembers the whole "He can't read" mess too.   With all that said.  The Eagles are the better team though the Bucs are 2-0.

Baker is still Baker at the end of the day.  He can be rattled and will be with pressure.   From what I see, Birds play some tight games on the road.  But they have jumped out to Big leads in the first two games.   I respect Tampa's Defense but I think we can do damage in the air this game along with the ground.  Jalen will probably have to get us out of some jams with his feet too.   I see a two score victory for the Birds.   Defense should give Baker trouble.   AJ could very well go off this game too.   With every team in the NFC BEAST losing, this is the perfect Oppounity for the Birds to gain a game on the whole Division.   3-0, Here We Come.  Eagles get their first Win against the Bucs in the Sirianni/Jalen Era.  They will also even the All Time Series up as well.   Oh yeah, Ronde Barber is getting honored at Halftime.   Let's spoil another ceremony shall we.

BIRDS - 31

BUCS - 16

JALEN - RUSH TD

AJ - TD

DEVONTA  - TD

SWIFT - RUSH TD

JAKE - FG

DEFENSE: Multiple Picks, Multiple Sacks, Fumble recovery

No.  Just an entertainer entertaining the home crowd.  Good business on her part.  She is a really good businessperson.

When it's your MO to pander to the home crowd by wearing their teams jersey-  that just being a manipulative person- a fraud.

When you choose not to show any alegiances whatso ever, not choosing sides- thats being a good business person.  (never understand companies or people who choose sides and potentionally alienate some of their customers. Companies should be neutral- be Switzerland.)

In this case it's only a NFL jersey so no biggie, but I do think it is manipulative tactic. If for example - she was a KC fan and always wore KC jerseys, at least she would be genuine.

On a side note- I dont get the reverance for her. I dont get why people are so into her. I kind of understand why some young girls are into her- because thats what young pre teen girls do... but grown ups? meh.

Apologies if already posted

If you were an entertainer playing the Linc and were a Cowboys fan, would you wear a Cowboys Jersey performing for a Philly crowd? I know, the best answer is to not wear a team jersey at all. Some (most?) people don't take sports teams allegiances all that seriously.

I find it hard to fathom that there aren't at least 32 people capable of coaching an NFL team.

There are more astronauts on the planet.  Is knowing how to count possessions that much harder?

Beyonce getting unanimously booed by the Sixers crowd for performing wearing a Lakers jersey was fantastic.  The best part was the shocked look on her stupid face.

How do we explain the best defense in the world allowing 180 rushing yards in the first half?

Well yeah…we should be able to run all over them

Given that offense... they likely needed 3 possessions.

Switzerland is part of NATO’s Partnership in Peace and is moving closer to considering membership in the organization.

Today's Immaculate Grid got my wheels turning... and I came up with a name for one of the categories that I haven't thought about since I was about 10 years old... and it was all due to some random sports book my grandmother got at a discount bookstore clearance rack.

So, here's the question to kill some time before kickoff.   Who is the most random player you can remember who won the NFL MVP award?  I have my name.    I'm curious what other massive outliers folks can remember.   My guy is definitely not a household name, and likely isn't even the first player thought of (if he's remembered at all) even amongst fans of that franchise.

No Phillies don’t play the pirates til Tuesday. Chance to clinch a playoff spot and possible chance to clinch the 4 seed

Let's start with your final point. She gets the reverance because of her music.  People listen to it and connect with what it is saying.  Think about Tony Bennett singing I Left My Heart In San Frasncisco or Frank Sinatra singing New York New York.  People connected with those songs and their singers no matter where they were from.  Swift accomplishes the same thing.  Why does Springsteen have reverance? For the same reason.  The audience can easily imagine themselves inhabiting the Boss' body and rocking out.  Swift is her own business manager, and incredibly successful at it.  She is the embodiment of the Empowered Woman.  Why does Oprah get reverance?  For the same reason .

You see the jersey thing as an allegiance statement because allegiances are important to you. For her, the entertainer trying to give her audience the best possible experience/value for their money, the local team jersey helps hers fans say in their mind "That could be me!" As I said above, Springsteen does the exact same thing.  He just uses a different hook than she does.

That was the exact opposite of what Swift does.  That was a clear statement of "I'm different than you are ... and don't you forget it!"

@mattwill

I'm afraid to make predictions, I've been wrong so often, but...

Eagles 27, Bucs 23

* Bonus: Hurts 300 passing yards, 3 combined TDs.

Would be nice for the Phillies to clinch both the playoff spot and the top WC spot in the same day... so I am pulling for the Yankees tonight... even though it hurts to say that!
