I don't think he'd be happy with the role, but Leonard Fournette would be a huge upgrade over Penny.

Veteran FA:

Damien Williams

Royce Freeman

Jonathan Williams

The following are on practice squads:

Demetric Felton is an interesting name. He's on the Bengals practice squad now. He's a dynamic KR. He doesn't bring any sort of size but he's a weapon.

Devine Ozigbo Detroit

Lamical Perine KC

Jaret Patterson Chargers

DeWayne McBride Vikings

I would be interested in McBride, but not until Penny gets a "prove it" chance to run behind the starting OL.

@e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! Myles Garrett is just beasting so far this year. Cleveland is #1 in points allowed, yards allowed, passer rating allowed, and yards per play allowed.

Its Garrett by a long way so far on the field.

Arizona exploited Parsons this week but he still got a sack in the humiliation so he's probably still #2 (or 1 because voters are simpletons)

I'm not sure if Carter was even on the board last week but he will be when they update this week.

Garrett has been the best defensive player on the planet this year. His numbers are pretty ridiculous. I’m looking for the tweet someone had that proved it. Jim Schwartz has that entire defense playing really well.

QBs get paid 50+ a year because QBs make teams win both by making plays and limiting the bad plays.

Peyton Manning got credit as a general on the field because he had the option to call run right run left or pass on most plays.

Hurts does this too but he is not NFL royalty.

The really good QBs force teams to play 1 handed out of fear / respect and this has been evident in the way Minny and Tampa tried to play D (fear of Hurts outside runs and deep balls)

The Ravens have been a dominant run team for years in large part because of the skills and fear of Lamar as a runner.

The same is also true in Philly now.

Hurts is elite this second, even with 2 very bad throws in 3 games.

Deal with it and enjoy all the Hurts based winning.

Their matchup with the 49ers in about a month will be interesting.   One of the few teams on the 49ers schedule that might be able to give them a loss.  No faith in Watson doing well against the 49ers defense but the Browns defense should be able to keep things close.

He said 3-0 for consecutive years for the first time since '93.

I went back and watched the final drive.  He did in fact say "two consecutive years" with about 3:00 minutes left.  However, he did not say that when the last few seconds were running down which is what I heard.  He only said "3-0 for the first time since 92-93".  All good.

TEAMS win games.

Most of the TEAMS to win at least 20 out of 21 games with a starting QB had Brady, Manning, Montana, or Hurts at QB.

You may have a point with Bob Griese and the '71-''73 Dolphins but that's the exception. (the '73 Dolphins were actually clearly and obviously better than the '72 team)

That TEAM also went 15-1 with Earl Morrall.

Curious to see who come out on top in the ravens/cleveland matchup. The colts are better than expected but they really didn’t look good against them yesterday and the browns if watson just plays average can do what the colts did in defense and then some. And the browns have Ford and hunt that can run the ball on the ravens like moss did.

What are the factual observations?  I see two: 1) Eagles with Jalen are 20-1 in last 22 regular season games he has started and 2) Eagles are 0-3 in their last 3 regular season games in that same span when Jalen didn't start and play in those regular season games.

Your whole problem is that "I see ..." is as far as you can see.  You never take the time to read and digest what anyone else has said.  @Iggles_Phan made two factual statements, which you either never understood or completely ignored, and immediately went into "I see ..." mode.  Your concept of a conversation is "Me, me, Me"  It has the emotional maturity of a 5-year old.

okkkkkk

Quote

The Eagles have perfected the QB push play, which continues to be perfectly legal. It ceases to be a legal play when the push becomes a pull.

There’s a reason for mentioning that. Last night, when the Eagles lined up in their trademark formation near the Tampa Bay end zone on third and goal, the effort by Jalen Hurts to score six points included not a push from tight end Dallas Goedert but an effort to pull him across the white stripe. Goedert did it again on fourth down, but it wasn’t as obvious.

"I was yanking him for sure,” Goedert admitted after the game, via Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press. "They say you can’t pull, but I was behind him.”

Goedert was indeed behind Hurts, but Goedert was not pushing. He was, as he put it, "yanking.” He was pulling. He slipped his arms under Hurts’s arms and tried to lift him in.

It’s not classic pulling, but it’s far closer to a pull than a push. And once it becomes a pull, it becomes an illegal play.

Chances are the push eventually will become an illegal play. With only the Eagles perfecting it, it seems like a no-brainer that at least 24 teams would come together and wipe it out.

Still, even without the pushing, the Eagles have the right players to gain yardage consistently via a traditional sneak, thanks to a great offensive line and a quarterback who knows how to slip through cracks and/or shove his way in.

Never said they don't.  I said they are not alone in determining it.  TEAMS win.  TEAMS lose.  That's what I said.   QBs need surrounding casts to make winning possible.  There are 11 men on the field at a time, never just one.

You are wasting your time.  He dosn't know how to listen/read.  He only knows how to crow.

Every great player in the history of sports needed other players around them and coaches, etc.

Bringing it up is not some deep thought. Its pathetic and boring.

QBs make winning possible more than any other position.  Winning is ultimately a QB stat because of that.  Despite how you seem to really not want to credit Jalen at all for being 20-1 in his last 21 regular season starts, he has played a major role in that record being what it is.

Once again you don't listen to what is said.

I don’t care who you are playing (well i guess if it’s Zach Wilson I’m less impressed) that’s ridiculous

Lol some of you really get offended by any Hurts criticism

Apparently Notre Dame considers that to be optional. With the game on the line, they might simply have only ten. On consecutive plays.

Truth

Man, we must have really thin skin to laugh at weak sauce sports communism arguments where no player is great but the workers are the means of success. 🤡

Oddly some of those same people wax poetically about the value of Siposs holding balls.

I prefer we give Penny more time to hopefully regain his explosiveness over any of the options available to us.

I only have one issue coming away last night with hurts, can’t have turnovers against teams like the niners, KC and Miami. If you have 1 it hurts. Having two it’s really going to be hard to overcome. So far this year he has 5 turnovers in 3 games. So about 1.67 per game. That’s too high especially when they get to the Miami, Washington, Dallas, KC, bulls, niners, Dallas and Seahawks stretch of the season. I’m hoping he gets back to where he was last year and the turnovers subside

The issue I have with the offense overall is there a red zone offense has been hit or miss through 3 games. This isn’t just a Jalen hurts issue either. This is an overall Eagles red zone offense. Our play calls when we get into the red zone have been puzzling at times by Brian Johnson. Guys have dropped passes like aj brown. Or some misreads by hurts. On the season the eagles are 5-11 in the red zone. That’s not good enough. Last night they were really bad as they were 1-5 (granted one drive stopped cause they ran out the time)

The guy was sick so it's hard to be upset with how he played. He obviously isn't on the same page with his receivers, so hopefully that will come. He is still looking way tentative and needs to progress quicker. It's hard to know what is on him and Johnson at this point as well.

I wish they had a backup TE who could be more of a threat catching the ball. I also don't love their 3rd and 4th options.

They saw something in Morrow to target him right at the start of FA.  Then they buried him.  Makes no sense.  Personally, when Dean comes back, Cunningham would be the odd man out for me.  And I think I'd keep the green dot with Morrow.  Let Dean get used to the speed of the NFL without also being responsible for the calls.  Morrow can handle that.  Dean will likely flash a bit more if he can just concentrate on playing fast.

Cunningham has been very good against the run.
