Trotter was pretty good in coverage before he hurt his knee.

I think he'd hold up well in today's game as well, if a guy like TJ Edwards who is as slow as molasses can start in the NFL teams would find a spot for a beast like trotter at MLB, especially prime trotter, 2000, 2001

Yeah, Trot was really good.  Byron Evans as well.

I agree.  Joyner was definitely better than Wille T.  However, I think Willie T's game would translate to today's game better than Joyner's... not by a ton, but by a hair.  Willie T was almost playing the big nickel position that they have now.   I think Joyner would be considered 'slow' by today's standards.  He'd likely be considered more of a run stuffer LB and be considered a bit of a liability in the passing game.  (And that's considering that he was actually really good as a pass defender back then.  Today's TEs are much more big WRs than they are the TEs that Joyner faced like Bavaro and Novacek).

I disagree, Joyner was great in coverage, Buddy would even line him up at safety in practice and said he would dominate there

Willie T was great In coverage but Joyner was a better athlete and a better all around LB.

In today's game getting a TE matched up on a LB one on one is a win for the offense, the rules favor offense so much that LBs and DBs are really hand cuffed in coverage but I still think Joyner would hold up in coverage In today's game just as well as any LB does in coverage

Ioved Willie T but Joyner was on a different level

Loved Byron Evans, dude was tough as nails, broke his forearm in  a game went and got it wrapped then led the game in tackles with a busted arm, played the rest of the year with a club and led team in tackles

Too bad he tore up his knee, that team was 6-2 in 1994 before the knee  Injury 2-6 after ☹️

That sums up my thoughts very well.  That is not to say that Joyner couldn't adapt his play to better match today's game, but I think Willie T would have much less adaptation needed.

Here's a question for @RememberTheKoy Where are you in today's conversation?  You are conspicuously missing.

In 1995 Buddy with the Cardinals moved Seth to safety because they sucked there

Seth had 3 picks a couple FF and 70 tackles

I think it's safe to say Seth could cover and wouldn't need to adept much to play in today's NFL.

I think he'd fit great In today's NFL.

He could do it all, he's the eagles all time leading sack leader at LB had over 1000 tackles in his career, played WIL SAM and safety throughout his career, he was just a really versatile guy who was good at everything.

Still hard to believe he's not in the HOF.

If he had spent his career with the Steelers and or Cowboys instead of his prime years with the eagles and cards he'd been elected long ago.

May be an image of 1 person, playing American football and text that says "Steelers NFL RW NFL Rookie Watch Joey Porter Jr. has been LOCKDOWN through three games: 45 coverage snaps 5targets reception allowed 12 yards) •1pass defensed 39.6 passer ratin lowed That the LOWEST passer rating any rookie CB has allowed this season (min. 32 snaps)."

I know a good amount of you guys are anti PSU players but so far so good for JPJ

I really liked him coming out, I like Nolan Smith  I would have rather had Joey porter. Who went 2 picks after Nolan.

Corner is a premium position and I'd rather see joey out there than Jobe while Nolan gets 6 snaps a game.

Having said that Nolan looks like he could be a stud. We'll see?

Interesting.  I was not aware of that, but did a little digging and it seems to be legit.

To me Sixers need to get on the phone with the Blazers and bring back Jrue in some kind of Harden deal where Harden goes to the Clippers and some forwards go to Portland

The Sixers will be better than the Bucks next season. Bookmark this post.

So we are getting our ass beat

Nolan hasn't looked like much of anything, but it's early. I'd rather have a young secondary piece.

Gonna have to listen to the interview but this popped in my timeline

And Schefter was told this by who?  Howie? Lurie?  More likely both believed Carter wasn’t in reach where they were picking.

Yup, Nolan has barely played, seems to be a bit of red shirt year for him

Porter sure would look good in this secondary, especially with how long in the tooth slay and bradberry are

I have a feeling that the Sixers are going to be atrocious this year (by recent standards).  They might back their way into the playoffs, but I don't see them having home court advantage in Round 1.   They feel like a 6 seed, at best, this coming season.   And, its possible that Embiid ends up missing a significant portion of the season, just because he hasn't in a while... and that could tank them to even miss the playoffs entirely.

The Sixers are a distant third as far as Philly teams go at this point - what a horribly run franchise they are.
